I will try my best to spread internationalism idea to people around me. My plan is to do presentation about my exchange experience and USA in my school. Moreover, I will for sure share my experience to my big family at home—may be I will do it in a more informal way—but at least I can spread the idea of internationalism to my family at home. I also actually started making blog since the very beginning of my exchange year, and so far I get a positive response from my friends back there in Indonesia. So I actually already started to try to make things better in my community by writing to inspire them to do something more and open their mind that the world exist for human to explore. I will also volunteer in the organization in Indonesia that dealing with exchange program. What parts of American culture have you learned to appreciate so far? I like independence that American teenagers have. I like how teenagers here are so free to work after school to make their own money and how house chores are evenly distributed to the member of the family so everyone gets something to do. Have you made friends that will last after you return home? (None, a few, many) Yes, I have made a few of them! Have you taught Americans about the culture in your country? How many presentations have you made? Yes, I have. So far, I did more or less 10 formal presentations. What personal goals have you achieved so far this year? I personally planned to get perfect score for all the classes that I took in the previous trimester. I made it happen. And I also targeted to win at least one of those IEW competitions and I made it as well!

What goals do you have for the remainder of the year? I want to do more volunteering or community service and I’m so glad that I registered myself to be a volunteer in CR Public Library. I’ll probably start to work actively in the library next month, three hours a day three times a week. So I’ll be able to reach 100 hours (or more) of community service in about 3 months! What ideas do you have for being active as an alumnus of your program when you get home? I’d like to work together with other alumni of my program when I get home to volunteer to improve the organization that dealing with exchange program in Indonesia. Besides, I also want to do community service together with them. We can combine our ideas that we gained during our exchange year.
