Welcome to the 15th Annual High Standards Female Sale!

First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone for a great year with a lot of success across the nation. This could not be done without our great families and devoted help. There is no doubt this has been a year with its obstacles and challenges, from extreme wet and cold like I have not seen in my lifetime, and hope to never see again, to a country that is struggling to find its direction. But nevertheless, the agricultural community will find its way. The economy is on a good path, let’s just hope our politicians don’t let their narrow vision mess that up. On the bright side, we as a show family were all part of a very special moment with the Topmiller family at the Ohio State Fair this summer. Tyler and his family are a testament of what this industry brings to young people’s lives day in and day out. I will say, to watch him take that heifer into the ring that day brought a tear to my eye and hundreds of others as well. But to see the joy in that kid’s eyes that day was a very special moment and we were happy to be a part of it. That is one of the driving forces around here, to bring that special moment to each and every family possible this year. After this year’s Ohio State Fair, I myself know what that feels like. Getting to experience it with Delaney is a feeling I will never forget, and we want to help your family achieve this feeling too, not only in the show ring but also in the calving barn and sale ring. As you thumb through this year’s offering, you’ll see that there are multiple cattle stemming from past purchases from the High Standards Female Sale that rise to the top of this offering, and not just from past high sellers, heck there are heifers out of $2,500 cows that will sell for three times that much. The power is in the pedigree. We are dedicated to helping with any breeding decision, feeding decision, all day every day. Any show, no matter how big or small, we will help you all we can. One reason we can offer this help is due to the strong crew of guys we have put together around here. Nick Hulsmeyer is our show barn manager and we would put him against any in the country. Sam Burtsfield and Quinton Ball are jacks of all trades that manage the sale cattle and do anything that is ever asked of them. They have a true passion for helping and working with the youth of this industry. We also have our part-time sale barn help, Cody Wright and Allie Warnimont. Though they are not here every day, due to Cody taking college classes and Allie juggling another part-time job, they are still a big part of this crew. But we could not have this sale without the dedication of our cowman, Todd Herman. Todd is a guy that understands the hours it takes to keep these cattle alive, healthy, and bred. We darn sure wouldn’t want to do this without him. Nick Strain is another one that makes this all work. Nick manages the feedlot and farming side of the operation, which we all know how important that is. Another important piece to the puzzle around here is Jenna Von Sossan. She keeps me organized, which is a full-time job in itself, and is in charge of the promo and marketing, registrations, and shipping side of things. If you can’t get a hold of me, go through her. With all that said, we would like to thank you for your interest in our 2019 High Standards Female Sale, which we believe is the deepest and most elite set of females we have ever assembled. We can’t wait for the year to come and are looking forward to having you join our team!

When we talked about who was going to be Lot 1, it was a unanimous decision. 115G and 125G were a very anticipated mating and when they were running the pasture of Harrod, they garnered many friends. 115G is extremely stout from behind and at the ground, yet so smooth in her shoulder and correct in her feet shape. This one will truly blow you away from the side as a whole. We think our Simmental offering is of the next level, and this one is special. You won’t find many females with this much mass or dimension with that “out there” look, especially for a Simmental. Owned with Rodgers Cattle Company & Grimm Cattle

TJSC Diamonds Destiny 134C TJSC Diamonds Destiny has had us excited since the day she was born. 134C quickly asserted herself as one of the most well made Diamond daughters to date. The pair of Relentless daughters being offered here are just the first step in a long legacy that is sure to be produced by Diamonds Destiny in the coming years. Be sure you get in on the ground floor of this unique breeding piece!

We like this pair a great deal and we are sure they will make it to the top of your list. Their look from the side and heads are simply up and beyond the usual thought of Simmentals. Diamond daughters are some of the most prolific females in the donor pen and show ring, claiming champion honors at every major show in the country. 204G is a true freak of a Simmental female; so flat in her shoulder, flexible at the ground, and loose in her skeleton. Functionality with presence and shape are ways I like to describe this exquisite specimen.

You’ll be hard pressed to find one with better longevity from the side with this much dimension and power. With all the structural integrity in the world, it would be no surprise for her to follow in the footsteps of her sisters and dam, winning countless shows and raising even better cattle. This one was just getting over a cough when we pictured her which kind of hurt her presence in the pen, but I can assure you she’s 100% healthy and has a neck that will rival any calf here. She’s long bodied, level hipped, and great footed. With a look and build as good as she has, and a cow family to back her up, the future can only get brighter for this rockstar heifer calf. Owned with Egbert Show Cattle & Keith Lambright

This Profit daughter will surely add profit to her new owner’s pocket. 210G combines an immense amount of power and presence all wrapped up in a beautiful baldy package. 9W always delivers quality and this one is no different. Superb in her running gear and extra good looking from the side. A female that works whether you want purebreds or half-bloods. Owned with Egbert Show Cattle & Keith Lambright

Meghan Reed’s 2018 NWSS Grand Champion female was a favorite of many and her first set of daughters have definitely followed in her footsteps. These three Relentless daughters are extremely good in their build, awesome footed, and striking on the profile. All three of them come to us with some different stages and condition, but all have the quality to win.

11

56G is one that really gets us excited for her future in the donor pen. She’s bold in her center body, squishy legged, and ties her neck extra high out of her shoulder. Her picture speaks for itself. Everything comes together so smoothly without sacrificing any power.

TJSC So Sweet 104X

Lot 5 You would think 104X knows English; the way she walks around the premises, she knows she’s one of the best. Being a past champion herself, it’s no surprise she’s produced dozens from coast to coast. She is without a doubt one of our biggest producers in numbers and quality. Her quality shines through many generations away with her daughters and sons making impacts on operations daily. Bid with confidence on anything with her in the pedigree because we make a living on consistency and accountability, and 104X is one of those reasons. She is the mother of Hammer Time, So Sweet 73A, and a full sib to Optimus Prime and She’s So Sweet 9W, just to name a few. Owned with C Hanging J Simmentals & Chris Anspaugh

104X stamps them out no matter what she’s bred to. Better Believe It is a Pays to Believe son of Wade Rodgers’s and we trusted him enough to use him on the famous 104X, and man are we glad we did. There were a lot of people who told us how good she was before we were able to see her at the co-op herd, and they were right. 222G is huge middled with a smooth pattern and great profile. Her shoulder is so flat and smooth, blending right into a robust rib cage. Her body assembly is almost impossible to replicate.

Miss Knockout 74T really knocked it out of the park with these two. We really like our Relentless calves no matter what cow they’re out of, but 74T makes these a little more special. 212G and 216G are some of the youngest and greenest in the offering, but that doesn’t take away on value to us. 212G is a striking baldy that we see change in every day. She’s elegant in her look, secure at the ground, and smooth in her build. This one’s future breaks the glass ceiling. Don’t be scared of her condition, she’ll be there when it really counts. 216G is the stouter and more rugged in her make-up, great in her lines, with great structure and overall balance.

An extra special breeding piece backed by the great 74T. 208G is flawless in her skeletal build, powerful hipped, and barrel bellied. This one flat gets us excited as a future donor cow with enough style to run in the show ring. Bid up with confidence on this genetic gem.

74T isn’t just good for producing purebreds! 215G is a full sib to Hannah Schaub’s popular Percentage Simmental at the Ohio State Fair open show and Reserve in the junior show. This one’s build and look push her right to the top! Being so young, we love watching this one come along every day, making us truly believe in her future both in the show ring and in the pasture.

17

6E

Primo sired half-bloods are dominating across the country and this one’s build and structural integrity will get her to the top no matter where she shows or how she’s bred. This heifer comes to us a little skinnier than others but with feed added, she could be the best one yet. Awesome feet and legs, great rib shape, with a long skinny neck. The only thing you will need to do is add the feed.

Full sibs to the 2018 High Standards Female Sale high seller that sold to Sara Sullivan. Both of these sisters show many characteristics of their sister. 221G is a beautiful baldy with tons of rib shape with a high neck set and perfect feet and legs. 219G is the all black sister that is built exactly like their sister, but in a stouter package. Either heifer you decide to get behind will be right there with you. We truly believe in this pedigree and these females. Owned with C Hanging J Simmentals

Nick Hulsmeyer called her one of the closest females to 104X that we have had in a while. If that statement doesn’t get you jacked up, then I don’t know what will! 117G is stout, hairy, and burly, all in a sound and smooth package. You truly have to see this one to really take in this presence and quality.

19

TJSC Obsession 103F - Full sibling to the Lot 8’s 465C made her production debut in 2018 paying for herself in her first year of flushing, with heifers selling for $17,000, $4,000, and $15,000. One of those females went on to be the Champion Simmental in the open and junior shows at the Ohio State Fair for Tyler Topmiller. And yes, all of her offspring in the sale are extremely gentle like Tyler’s. This year’s set was much anticipated in the calving barn and ever since they calved, were admired by many. While 465C may be a young donor, we are sure she will have her mark in our program for a long time to come.

I know repetition can get old and I would know, I’m writing all of these, but when our Simmentals are this consistent and we have a flush that matches up as well as they do, it’s hard to come up with different words. 114G is a true combination female in all regards. Long necked, deep bodied, stout pinned, with an impressive set of feet and legs. This one is no slouch and should not be overlooked.

Talk about an easy flushing, moderate, front pasture brood cow. Big in her center rib with that square in her build and yet attractive from the side. In my opinion, she’s the closest to Topmiller’s state fair champion. This pedigree reads with consistency in this offering and from year to year.

She is the youngest of the sisters but still shows the true value that Hammer Time brings to the table; a stout body, sound structure, and great in her lines from the profile.

21

She may be behind in the hair department, but I assure you this one was just as hairy as her sisters this summer. From the side you have to love this one’s build; so square in her hip and pin set with an incredible set of running gear. One with so much mass in her center body and complimenting her build with flat shoulders and a thin neck.

This is the first time we mated Diamond 133C, the Reserve Champion female at beef expo, for percentages and we are happy with the outcome. 228G is really good in her belly line, structure, and overall look. We really love this one’s mass and dimension for being an Angus sired percentage female. She goes back to a beautiful champion who is making her own in the donor pen and we’re excited for her future! Owned with Schaub Livestock

A full sib to Lot 9 is the 2018 High Standards Female Sale that sold for $15,000, 226G comes to us from the Boocher family. She’s the spitting image of her sister with a little more condition and readiness. We certainly appreciate this one’s look, structure, and balance. One with a ton of upside and a proven pedigree behind her. Owned with Boocher Cattle

Two full sisters to the great $90k high seller in 2017 that went on to be Reserve Overall at the Ohio Beef Expo and Third Overall at the Ohio State Fair. This pair of females have been standouts since birth, perfect structured, huge middled, with a great neck set and look from the side. Great females backed by a great cow, what more could you ask for. 23G - Probably the deepest bodied, soggiest middled female in this sale. So extreme in her body and so broody in her make up. 23G is really high out of her shoulder into a sleek neck and pushes with authority off her rear leg and hock. A “don’t miss” cow family and a female you won’t want to overlook. 19G - 932Y consistently puts together a great set year after year, and 19G is no exception. This one is massive in her rib, soft in her structure, with a very impressive look from the side. She’s so smooth and complete, with the functionality to produce and all the bells and whistles to compete. Bid with confidence here folks!

A powerhouse female in this heifer! Stout hipped, big footed, and big ribbed. She’s the natural calf out of Ali Muir’s 2014 Ohio State Fair Champion female and one of our young herd bulls that’s sired by Style and damed by the 2013 Louisville champion, Cinderella 595Z. Purple runs through her veins and we see it in this one’s future. If you want one that is bold ribbed, long skinny necked, stout, and sound, then you need to look at this one! Oh, and did I mention she’s hairier than any club calf? Owned with Schaub Livestock

80G was a very anticipated mating this spring. A female that possesses three of our most prolific cow families; She’s So Sweet 104X, Daddy’s Money, and Diamond W516. With all those genetics behind her, it’s no mistake that she is the epitome of a great, functional brood cow with all the bells and whistles. When we started mating and selling the Broker x Diamond daughters, we knew they were way more than just show cows. Get in on the great Diamond cow family! There’s plenty of people you can call that will vouch for their Diamond cows. Owned with Whitney Farms

No matter what the Simmental breed decides to do with the new breed percentages, ¾ blood females are a smart investment. 70G is built like a Mack truck from behind and a supermodel from the side. Stout hipped, wide bodied, and heavy structured. All of this coupled with her extension up front and great underline truly make this female ready to compete in the show ring and produce in the front pasture.

Wow! I’ve said it once and I’m sure I’ll say it again; Caitlin’s Harmony cow is simply amazing. 44G has all of us excited for this upcoming show season. She’s stout pinned, has tons of upper rib shape, a perfect belly line, and an incredible set of feet and legs. With all the power this one contains, she tops it off with a thick coat of hair. The prolific Harmony of Caitlin Schaub’s that won the Ohio State Fair and both NAILE and NWSS really hit her stride in the donor pen. These daughters were some of the easiest going when coming off the cow and the crew’s favorite pair to work on. Big haired, awesome structured, perfect bellied, with a great profile. What more could you ask for in a high Maine female?! Owned with Schaub Livestock

These two sisters tell a little story in their lineage. Back in 2006, Jason Minnaert chose JSC Katie 5S as his pick of the open heifers. After ending the bid at $25,000, Jason became her new owner and shortly after she went on to be the Reserve Maine-Anjou female at the 2007 NWSS, but known more importantly as the near 2 million-dollar producer cow she has become today, with multiple proven promo bulls and national champion daughters. 9B is a direct daughter who was successfully campaigned by Haley Haverback and also the mother of MINN Style’s Greatest, who is the 2019 Maintainer Show Heifer of the Year, winning Junior Nationals, KC, NAILE, NWSS, and FWSS. Oh, and did I mention these heifers are full sibs to Style’s Greatest!

33

With all the cow power behind this one, it’s no surprise she comes to the top of a lot of people’s list. A female that is so extreme in her neck extension while being so good in her rib cage and moving across the pen with some of the best running gear a guy could ask for. Ask the college team judges, I bet even the most critical couldn’t deny this one.

MINN Style’s Greatest

Now I know I talk very highly of this one’s sister, but I assure you that you don’t want to overlook 63G. Of the pair, she’s the stouter skeletoned one that’s more massive in her upper rib, while still maintaining a great look and structural integrity. The Maine-Angus breed is hot, and we feel like we’ve put together a great set for your discretion.

58G is a donor cow deluxe of an animal if I have ever seen one, with roots going back to the great Lucky Lady cow as well Riemann’s Kelli donor. She is the stoutest heifer of the offering, possessing so much mass over her near perfect skeleton. Her feet are elephant like and her neck resembles a giraffe; you would think we found her out in the safari of Africa. Couple all of this with a rib shape so round and three dimensional, the generating power of this female is undeniable.

85D is the 2018 NWSS Champion Maine-Anjou female for Caitlin Schaub and her first embryo crop did not disappoint. From two different sires, all three of these heifers are very competitive females. The Lucky Lady cow family runs deep in our herd as well as many with notion, and she continues to shine through in this generation. Owned with Schaub Livestock

Big footed and big boned with a great coat of hair, this one will be hard to beat in the high Maine division. A special treat in this lot; a 3/8 Maine and halfblood Simmental. A heifer that can show as either one and is good enough to win either of the breeds, so how do you decide what to show her as? We’ll leave that decision up to you. She’s long bodied, perfect structured, and may be the longest, most extreme necked female I’ve ever been a part of. No matter which direction you go, she’ll be fun for a junior exhibitor. ASA #: 3599652.

An intriguing pedigree here. A high Maine female that runs back to the great 104X cow. No matter what breed or how many generations away, 104X shines through, especially in this heifer. 931G originates from the Topmiller family with her mother being a past champion at the Ohio State Fair and a division winner in Louisville. She’s square in her build, bold in her shape, and exotic in her overall look. Ask Jaecke about the Data Bank calves, and he’ll tell you just how much of an impact they’re going to make. Lucky Lady 71N has stamped out champions and high sellers for countless years, winning shows from coast to coast. With the loss of Lucky Lady last summer, it was hard to think of a time we didn’t have one of her daughters in the sale. With few eggs in the tank, 47G could be your last chance to buy an original daughter. But if this is the last one, she’s definitely going out with a bang. High Maine females can be tough to make, but this one is different. Everyone wants a freak but freaks usually get beat by ones like this that have functionality.

2X is a prolific donor for us and said to be one of the best Lucky Lady daughters to have walked the earth. She’s a past Louisville champion for the Grauer family and most recently the mother of the 2019 NWSS Reserve Maine-Anjou female for Samantha VanVorhis. With the loss of 2X last summer, we’re sad to say our embryo inventory is running low. 106G meets the high standards of her mother’s legacy; stout in her build, massive in power, yet smooth and elegant in her look, coupled with an impeccable foot. It’s hard for us to duplicate donors, but this female is extremely close to her mother. Get in while you can! Owned with Grauer Show Cattle

This female comes to us from Caitlin Schaub and quite honestly, I was shocked when she jumped off the trailer with Maine-Anjou Junior Nationals being in Lima, but Caitlin wanted to bring her best to the sale, and we were glad she did. 230G is big shagged, long necked, and perfect in her lower profile. There’s not much more you can ask for in a show heifer and she has the power to do it all in production. A practical heifer that has all the extras to compete. Owned with Caitlin Schaub

This female reads with a different twist to her pedigree. She’s a ¾ Simmi and ¼ Maine, containing both the She’s So Sweet and Lucky Lady cow families. Good, genuine cattle is what we strive for and we knew this mating would be it. For a female to be so big bellied, stout skeletoned, and still have look and structure, that’s a hard thing to do. Phenotype and genotype come together in a great package here and if you don’t believe me, just ask the youngest Jones, Bryson, who leads her around wherever he wants her to go. Docility is free of charge! ASA #: 3612926. Owned with Garwood Cattle Company

77G is the epitome of what we feel raising cattle and selling cows is all about. Rising River Cattle bought 105E as a standout bred in last year’s sale and she went ahead to calve out this hairy, sound, big bodied heifer calf. We strive to raise good cattle, but we try even harder to make it easier for our customers to improve their cow herds. ASA #: 3610955. Owned with Rising River Cattle

This female may be one of the skinnier heifers of the flush, but don’t let that take away from her potential. She’s so exotic in her neck extension and smooth in her design, while still possessing a robust rib cage. If you’re into buying a fresh one with the intention of showing next fall, you should keep her in the back of your mind.

With everyone that comes through to see the heifers, 104G rises best to the term “complete”. A female that is extremely hard to pick a hole in, yet is still attractive from the side, big shagged, and good footed.

105A is a prominent dam in our Maine-Angus division and the dam of these two freaks. If you’re looking to show the hairiest, most wild necked females that still have big feet and rib shape, then put these two on your list. Wade Rodgers swept the ring with their full sibs last year and Nick Schroeder has another that’s leading his donor program. 220G is the stouter one of the pair, wide in her pin set, with (Trump voice) HUGE feet and legs. Just check out her picture, this one is a complete freak from the side. 223G is soft in her muscle design but still has the big feet that it takes to set herself apart from the crowd. We are extremely excited to see both of these be shown and expect them to produce without problems, whether you want to raise breeding heifers or show steers. Owned with Schaub Livestock

A female with tons of future to feed into a tremendous show heifer and brood cow.

She is the youngest of our Hereford offering and the first calf of this mating. With all the success of Sensation 2296 over the last couple of years, we knew we had to use him on our best cows. 224G is a direct daughter of our $90,000 pick out of Hoffman’s sale and she emphases our love of the breed, she’s functional in her foot shape and easy flushing. Here is a baldy female out of the dominate KLS Diamond W516. This Profit daughter is one that is very good looking, ultra complete, and plenty powerful to make an awesome cow and donor prospect. Full sisters sold in the 2018 HSFS to Sara Sullivan for $20K, and Netolicky for $15K. We have high hopes in the future for this one’s new owner.

Safe AI 4/19 to GSC GCCO Dew North You didn’t think we could have an offering without a 104X daughter did you? This One Eyed Jack is one that is long and extended from end to end. Powerful in her make up and flat good looking. Bred to the popular G- sire, Dew North.

43

Safe AI 4/19 to Daddy’s Money This descendant of the Lucky Lady cow family could be a lot of fun to play with. Her grand dam 2X is one of, if not the best 71N daughter to date. There is a heifer calf that is a maternal sibling to 14F in this offering who we feel is an elite dual registered female. The mother to this one is about to show her power in ET production and you need to get in on the ground floor. Just look what the Optimus Prime daughters have and continue to do for this program.

Safe AI 4/19 to Daddy’s Money A Drivin 80 daughter that if you want them stout, soft, sound, with enough look this will be your pick of the breds. She is a carbon copy of her Cerveza mother from G-, who continues stamps them every time.

Safe AI 4/19 to W/C Lock Down Here is one we feel possesses all of the right qualities to make one heck of a cow in anyone’s program. Not just because of her pedigree, but also her phenotype. 85F is long fronted, impeccable through the center part of her body, and out over her hip and hind leg. No matter if you mate her Maine, Simmental, or club calf the chances are it will be good.
