We would like to take this opportunity to welcome each of you to the Bar QH Simmentals Sale Facility for the Pride of the Prairie Annual Production Sale. We are really excited about this year’s lineup as we feel this is truly the absolute best set of cattle we have ever offered. The quality and diversity that will be offered this year is simply outstanding. Be sure to read through the entire catalog as I can assure you from Lot 1 to Lot 86 you’re going to find cattle that can be used to take your herd to the next level. Each year our sale group strives to bring cattle that are on the cutting edge and provide added value to each of your programs. This year we offer an elite set of show heifer prospects, one of the deepest sets of Simmental & Angus bred heifers ever offered, as well as proven cows. These cows are not culls, the cows being offered have all produced success stories through this sale ring or replacement females still being utilized by members of the Pride of the Prairie Sale group. Please don’t overlook the cows being offered as you can rest assured each of the members of this sale group take their culls to the sale barn and don’t try to market them to you as value added females. It is our goal to earn customers and keep them through repeat business, gained by your success with your purchases from our programs. While 2019 was a difficult one for all of us in the Agricultural community, we are now coming to a close on this year and we look forward to great times in 2020 and beyond. As we look back we are so grateful for all of the success stories we have heard on all of your past purchases and we look forward to creating more great memories in the future. Thank you for your evaluation!

Agnes is my wife’s pick of the heifers this year. Between her and my daughter I don’t know who is more upset about putting her up for appraisal, but we are committed to offering our best so here she is! Her dam 934 was the top selling donor at the Lazy H dispersal commanding $41,000. Since then her embryos have been bringing over $1000 and pregnancies $6,000 plus. A granddaughter of the famous 5001 cow, the consistency and profit potential are endless. She’s so sleek and elegant through her front third, big bellied, pretty headed, confident in her stride along with hair for days and a absolute sweetheart. Our 5 year old Loretta loves hand feeding her hay and leading her around the barn. With that said looking towards the future and where these genetics will lead we would like to retain 50% embryo interest. Everyone around here as well as visitors have no doubt what this female will do for our program and yours alike. If you want to take her home that’s fine but she’s also welcome to stay right here in the showbarn or simply be developed into the donor she’s destined to be.

I have gone back and forth about which of these flush mates is the better of the two and so far I can’t decide. And nether can anyone that comes to evaluate the cattle. Offering both these heifers for your appraisal and you be the judge. The apple should not fall from the tree as their sire, Pay the Price, was triple Crown winner in his own right. They have tremendous growth, deep bellied, stout, sound, and I could go on and on. Let one of these heifers be the anchor to your summer show string and herd. Their potential in the ring is endless. Out of the Lazy H Donor 42A, a Steel Force going back to the Lazy H Bar Forever Lady 5001 cow family, having been a cornerstone in their program and its clear why. Having such depth and being a three quarter blood so there are many options to go with their breeding. And I Happen to know a guy with some bulls that will work on these gals!

This heifer may be a touch more green than her half sisters in the sale, but don’t let that scare you. She is a bit taller, big hipped, so much flex and mobility, she has room to grow. And as a purebred, put this one to work for you and you will not be disappointed with her. She is out of the Lazy H donor 121Y, going back to the Forever Lady 5001 cow family, and sired by Pay the Price, this one has such potential as a bred heifer. Bar QH Simmentals

We are pretty proud of this one, and we should be. She is a revival out of a step up, which has been a winning combination for us again and again. Her young dam D335 producing F501, who sells as lot 20 and is undoubtedly one of our top bred heifers in this year’s offering. This being her second highly marketable calf, this is a perfect opportunity to own one of the best heifers in the sale from our genetics. This heifer has had a great temperament and that show cow look from day one. She is big boned, smooth sided, and cow power. Her dam is one of the Hairetta cows from the Martin Livestock Program in Indiana. She has a strong silhouette and this one has the cow power. Step Up daughters are known for their udder quality and being able to raise a good one. This heifer will be no exception given her breeding. Any junior can feel confident taking with one into the ring bred and having the gas to keep up. Owned with Don Hayes.

Bar QH Simmentals

With this heifer you not only get looks, but also a pedigree that shows itself as well. Out of our favorite pilgrim daughter B112, who has had 4 out of 4 daughters in our sale and everyone of them has been a full sib G623, all being Step Up daughters- her dam keeps producing the great ones, so we know she will too! Something to be said for the predictability you will be purchasing on this one. If you are looking for a percentage heifer to go on making whistle fronted daughters after her show career is done, this gal is for you. She has shape and personality to spare so do not be afraid to show this one off! Bar QH Simmentals

The Turnpike’s have hit the scene in a big way this spring with his rookie calf crop. This baldy female is simply striking when you get her in motion. It is so hard to make purebred females this sound at the ground, correct in their tail head set, and still carry their neck high out of their shoulder. 919G is backed by the great Sheza Babe female who originated from the Cooper program in Georgia and is now a lead donor for Double J Ranch in Wisconsin. This female’s great disposition makes her an easy choice for any first year show person. Slater Farms

This young Angus female by Surveillance has been extra shaggy since birth. 95G is deep flanked, sound structured, and presents a really neat look on the profile. She is out of a really high quality young Angus cow from the Voss program of Iowa and is built with longevity in mind. If you’re looking for a high quality show project that can develop into a front pasture female for years to come be sure to study this May baby. Slater Farms

This female has great cows lining every corner of her pedigree being backed by Werning’s 8543U, She’s So Sweet, Sandeen’s Donna 7386, and the great H25. This star headed female has had plenty of admirers this summer and is ready to leave her mark on the tan bark. Bid with confidence on this standout daughter of FFC Nick. Slater Farms

99G has been one that has had show cow written all over her since the day she hit the ground. Cocky necked, thick topped, huge footed, and all the presence you could ask for. It’s no secret that this one has power in her blood being sired by a full sibling to the 2019 NAILE Champion TJSC King of Diamonds, and backed by the great She’s So Sweet family on the bottom side. Remember a red one always gets that second look. She is big boned, square hipped, and knows how to strike a pose. She is a Burn Notice granddaughter, who is a cornerstone of the Adcock Land and Livestock Program. Sired by Road Trip, who is a Roll Tide son, originating from the Wesner family and out of the Macho cow that did great thing for Bloomberg’s. My wife has done her best to calm that red head flare, but I promise she has the gas to keep going for your show dreams. Bar QH Simmentals

This gal was picked out early on as a show barn princess and she has been just that. My wife may not think this is funny, but I have a type and this gal fits the bill; stout, full, easy keeping, but is still pretty to look at. As Sir Mix A lot would say “I like big butts and I can not lie” With all her muscle and power she has enough confidence to give you that look but still soft in her temperament. Several that came to work heifers in the summer picked her out in the group, you can’t miss her. Genetically she is out of the top selling open heifer in 2017, so this is her first calf, and wow! Makes me think we should have made her a keeper, but as always the best have to offered to you. Owned with Tanner and Colton Foose.

Absolutely stunning bred female here. A baldy Nicolette is something that does not come around very often and this female is sure to be one to grab your attention the second that you see her. For a purebred female to be this good necked and awesome built is something that is truly unique. Another female whose dam was a past sale highlight and is working for her new owner making powerful females herself. These Nicolette females are not an expense they are an investment that are more predictable than nearly any other.

Adcock Land & Livestock

Yet another Nicolette female coming to the Pride of the Prairie sale to carry on the family tradition of making powerful brood cows. 807’s dam was a past $16,000 sale topper of this very sale and is one of those can’t miss type of cows. These Outlaw females are phenomenal in production and you put this combination together you have a maternal powerhouse. Bred up to the popular Quantum Leap bull this is a female you won’t want to overlook on sale day.

We pride ourselves on bringing elite bred heifers to this sale every year and here is an awesome breeding piece that we never had any intentions of selling. A Broker out of past KC Champion female S Sis Lucy 718Y. This heifer is a full sister to the Schafer families 4th overall at the North Central Regional and maternal sister to our up and coming donor that wins the IL State Fair in 2015 as a bred and wins Jr. Nationals in 2016 as a cow/calf pair. Here are some of the most predictable matings that you could possibly ask for that has the body, mass, and structural integrity that you could ever want. Bred to calve to our herdsire from Shipwreck this female should hit a homerun with calf one.

I absolutely love these Stepping Stone females, they are just incredibly fault free. Here is a moderate, big ribbed one that can make a barn cat look crippled. Bred up to the extremely popular Halftime bull of Bloomberg’s here is one that is bound to make her new owner happy every time you see her in the pasture.

Everybody loves a red baldy and here is a royally bred one. A Lock Down out of a Profit how can you go wrong. Huge middled, stout made, and still sound this is the kind of female that stays in production for a long time. Bred to calve to the Outlaw bull that is doing a ton of great things in South Dakota for Chris Effling.

Hands down sale feature here, I’ve loved this female since day one. We were going to offer her as a feature open last year but thought boy I’d like to make a big time bred and 501 did that. This female has an impeccable build and look from the ground up. Her dam a young step up daughter is going to climb right into the donor pen after producing two awesome females back to back. Check out her maternal sibling, G620 selling as Lot 5. Safe in calf to Quantum Leap due 1/12. Halter broke and a absolute sweetheart to be around.

This uprising female goes back to the great Silverstone Chyna cow. Most of you know the she left her mark in the Simmental breed, and we purchased this daughter out of the Cow Town sale in Fort Worth but have decided to offer her back to you, stacked pedigree on this girl. Safe to Night Watch to calve on 1/11. Halterbroke.

Here’s another one that’s very hard to let go. Just study this pedigree, Driver who is one of the best cow makers in the breed combined with Dixie Erica. I have two full sibs in production who have two top heifers in the replacement lot out of revival. These are simply money making genetics that have truly worked in our program. Like 507, different twist here we saw her in a heat and though well let’s just breed her so she’ll be nursing a halftime heifer calf by sale day. I recommend loading 527 immediately after the sale so I can get this regret of selling out of the way. Halter broke and very calm.

Revival x step up tracing back to “kitten” one of our best cows from Adcock’s that originated right out of this sale when it was hosted by Art Farley. This female just like 501 is another that would have been a great open, but as I stroll through sale catalogs I’m sometimes disappointed with the bred heifer offering so she was held back to make a top bred. We as breeders at the pride of the prairie offer our best breds as I hope you can see and appreciate it in this group. Will have a road trip heifer calf at side by sale day. Halter broke and very calm.

After seeing how these breds have turned out this year we wish we would have kept them all to develop and sell this year as bred heifers. Deep soggy and sound. This one is straight up cow, we have several driver x revival females and I can’t stress enough their potential as many have topped our sale. Her full sibling, E470, was the second high seller of the 2017 Pride of the Prairie sale sold to Jerry Walsh for $10,500. Our first Relentless daughters calved this year and excelled in all aspects. This female was no different. She raised a nice sized, healthy bull calf on some pretty tough summer grass. This one has a very bright future.

Broker daughter here from Bloomberg’s that has a stellar halftime daughter in the replacement lot that will either be a huge addition to the herd or a big time bred next year. Jury is out on that decision at the moment but one thing is for sure she can raise one. Bred to revival raise your hand in December then cash a big check come summer.

Beautiful first calf heifer from Bloomberg’s that has a Legendary heifer we had in the barn to put in the sale but she was just too green yet. I promise she’s coming back in though as she deserves to be shown. Once again the only reason I’m writing a footnote on her is the fact she’s raised such a good calf.

PE 4/9 till 6/23 to WS Revival. Vet estimated due to calve mid February. I’m stupid for letting this young halftime daughter go but I have a rockin gavel daughter out of her in the herd. Her first daughter out of Legendary Adcock’s bought in the stalls for $5000 half interest at State Fair. That heifer went on to be the Champion % Heifer at the Illinois Simmental Preview Show. This gal can obviously produce and I expected nothing else as she originated from the great Bloomberg program. Bid with confidence here folks.

AI PE 4/19 till 6/28 Gavel. Observed & vet confirmed bred on 5/7. This moderate made sow bellied young female is out of one of my favorite cows. Her dam is a Man among boys that’s now 7 years old, raises a calf every year and does it with a perfect udder. She’s the only clubby female I have in my herd but she isn’t going anywhere for the simple fact that she’s a great producer. D326 has a revival steer in the lot Brady plans on showing this summer, first steer I’ve kept in 10 years.....he’s simply that good.

PE 4/19 till 6/28 Gavel. Vet called due mid February.

Several years ago at Sanders I was contending bidder on Miss Brenda, B144’s dam so when I saw a pregnancy selling I knew this was my chance. Beautiful young female here in her prime. United females have proven their worth and B144 could be a asset to anyone’s herd. Homo Black. Bar QH Simmentals
