Ugliest Building in Melbourne finally gets a new look Once it was deemed the ugliest building in Melbourne by comedian Barry Humphries, but the Peninsula Centre will no longer be the ugly duckling.

The family company, Asian Pacific Group has committed $25 million dollars to bring this building into its prime. The 12-storey building is currently being converted into 150 single and double bedroom apartments, offices, a conference room, gymnasium, shops and a multi-level car park. It will become charcoal grey and have balconies added to its exterior. The building will house commercial apartments held under a ten-year lease with the Quest Group. The Frankston Mayor Cr Brian Cunial has already spoken about the positive change this will bring to Frankston and the benefit it will create helping Frankston to achieve its goal of building a better city by 2025. Frankston has seen a boom in its property prices recently as more people are in search of a sea change, but still want to be close to the city.
