Registration
Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received. All credit course students will be required to pay a $20 annual infrastructure fee.
Cancellation Policy
A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Mailed refunds are usually received within two to three weeks.
Refunds
A transferable voucher may be given for the amount of the class if a student cancels 48 hours prior to the start of the class.
All students must register and pay all course fees prior to the first day of class. Continuing Education classes will not meet during the Labor Day Holiday (September 7th) and the Thanksgiving Break (November 25th - 27th).
Personal Interests & Senior Sage Conditioning-Boot Camp (HPR 1422 C1)
A popular class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. You will benefit from the expertise of certified personal trainer, Nathaniel Thomas. This boot camp is designed to push participants harder than they would push themselves. Weightlifting (HPR 1811 C1)
Throughout the semester students will work on how to achieve different goals such as increased speed, power, flexibility, endurance, strength, and muscular size. Students will be working all major muscle groups including legs, chest, back, shoulders, and arms with increasing amounts of resistance. Instructor, Ross Jackson will also cover the basics of nutrition to help build a “more fit” you. Introduction to Computers (BUS 1121 C1)
This class starts at the very beginning! By the end of this course, you will understand and “talk” computer lingo. This computer course includes an overview of Windows operating systems, and introductions to word processing, and more. The Civil War in Arkansas (HIS 2001 CE)
Join Dr. Stuart Towns as he discusses several major battles, as well as smaller engagements throughout the state. Other topics will include the role of women who kept the home fires burning, the often bitter struggles between Arkansas civilians and Federal forces, and the guerilla-type warfare that occurred in the state. Dance your way into fitness with this Latin-inspired experience. Zumba joins high energy movements with dance combinations to achieve a full body workout. Zumba helps tone, sculpt, and burn fat while blending exercises such as squats, knee lifts, and bicep curls. iPhone ®… I’m Lost!
In this workshop, Paige Laws will show you how to set up your iPhone® to email, use WiFi networks, Bluetooth, and iTunes. You’ll also learn how to take pictures, send them to friends, install apps, and make your iPhone® even smarter. Don’t forget to bring your iPhone® 4S, 5 or 6. Now that you’re more comfortable with your iPhone® after the basic workshop, we’re going to take it to the next level. We’ll discover more about the pre-loaded apps and explain the avenues for downloading apps, songs, movies, books, games, and more. Medicine Ball Training
University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service is offering Medicine Ball Strength Training. The program will focus on resistance, balance, and flexibility exercises. Benefits include: increased muscle mass and strength; improved bone density and reduced risk for diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression, and obesity and improved self-confidence, sleep, and vitality. Additional stretching exercises will complete the workout. Nutrition information will be provided for a whole health perspective. Classes are open to men and women. Pottery
This class explores the art of forming and shaping clay. Working one-on-one with students, the instructor will guide new potters as their skills improve. You will advance at your own rate while making creative pieces. Experienced students will continue their exploration of ceramic art by practicing advanced hand techniques. Hunter Education Course
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, must complete a hunter education course and carry a valid hunter education card to hunt in Arkansas. Children under 16 may hunt without hunter education certification as long as they are under the direct supervision of an adult who is 21 years or older. Let’s Preserve! Canning Class
Canning is a great way to preserve your produce beyond the growing season. Blue Ribbon award winner Wilma Powell will demonstrate canning techniques. You will be able to take home recipes, one jar of the class-produced product, and the knowledge to turn your favorite vegetables and fruits into something you can enjoy year round. AR Concealed Carry Course
Taught by certified concealed handgun safety instructor Buck Morris this course offers a safe, friendly environment for Arkansas residents to qualify to conceal a handgun with a permit (license). Classroom experience and firing qualification (to be held at a local range) meet the requirements of Arkansas Act 419 of 1995. Learn to communicate in the manual-visual mode and receive instruction in learning the alphabet, vocabulary, whole number system, and elementary conversation. Cake Decorating for Beginners
This fun, hands-on class teaches basic cake decorating techniques. Participants will take a previously baked cake and learn basic cake decorating techniques. You will learn about various types of icing, proper use of decorating tools, and instructions on skills needed to prepare a beautiful cake. Whether you are brand new to guitar or you need to build on the basics that you have already learned, instructor John Shepherd will supply you with the tools you need to improve and play like a star! Lessons will cover hand techniques, reading music, chording, etc., while working one on one with an experienced guitar player. Bring your own guitar and your inner rock star!
