Personal Interests & Senior Sage Equine Classes Basic Equine Principles & Techniques (AGN 1102 C1) This course will provide a basic introduction to the principles involved in handling and training horses with an emphasis on the historical perspectives and technical development of the unique cooperation between horses and humans. In addition, the course will cover equine behavior patterns and training philosophy, evolution of horsemanship, development of training equipment, alternative equine health care and therapies. Western Riding Techniques II

This course is designed to teach western riding techniques and equitation riding to students with little or no previous experience. Students will develop their skills through practical experience and will have individualized equitation lessons in a group setting. Conditioning for Horse and Rider (HPR 1011 C1)

This course will provide the basic understanding of the development of sport specific strength, neuromuscular strength, power and speed for both horse and rider. A progression of basic exercises and techniques will be presented to maximize individual performance, minimize injury, develop and maintain a safe and healthy horse and rider. Art Classes T-Shirt Memory Quilt (ART 1001 C1)

Want a special gift for a graduate, friend, or family member? If you have 6 to 28 t-shirts, you can design your own quilt. You will also need fusible medium weight interfacing. Creative Cake Decorating

This fun, hands-on class taught by Cathy Helton teaches the basic cake decorating techniques. Participants will take a previously baked cake and learn basic cake decorating techniques. You will learn about various types of icing, proper use of decorating tools, and instruction on skills needed to prepare a beautiful cake. Students will use high-tech software available in the EAST (Environmental and Spatial Technologies) lab to produce special projects. Software that may be used includes geographical mapping, CAD, Photoshop, movie making, and virtual reality software. In this course you will review some of the basic features covered in Introduction to Excel as well as more advanced ones. IPhone®… I’m Lost!

There is so much more you can do with an iPhone® besides making phone calls, sending text messages and browsing the web! In this workshop, Paige Laws will show you how to set up your iPhone® to email, use Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth, and iTunes. Yoga

Yoga is designed to connect the mind and body. Instructors will lead participants to focus on strength and balance movements designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress. Conditioning

The first half of the class is geared toward cardiovascular improvement. The second half of the class is weightlifting with small dumbbells. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1986, and of legal age to operate a motorboat, must have successfully completed an approved Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Boating Education Course and carry proof while operating a motorboat on Arkansas water. AR Concealed Carry Course

Taught by certified concealed handgun safety instructor, Buck Morris, this course offers a safe, friendly environment for Arkansas residents to qualify to conceal a handgun with a permit (license). Classroom experience and firing qualification (to be held at a local range) meets the requirements of Arkansas Act 419 of 1995. AARP Safe Driving Course

This class is open to anyone, any age. We, our cars, our roads and our laws keep changing. In this class you will cover medications, vision, hearing, flexibility, strength, fitting you to your car, understanding the road and much more. Upon completion of this class you will get a discount on your car insurance for three years. NO TEST REQUIRED. Professional Development Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Refresher Course (EMT 1501 CE)

This course follows the USDOT National Standard Curriculum and meets the Arkansas Department of Health – Section of EMS Transition Course requirements for 24 hours of refresher/transition training. Healthcare Provider CPR

The Healthcare Provider course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a variety of settings. Youth Horseback Riding

Perfect for horse lovers, this class offers a hands-on learning experience in all aspects of horsemanship. Participants will enjoy being around their favorite animal while learning to care for them and ride them at the same time. Slammin’ Jammin’ Guitar Lessons

Whether you are brand new to guitar or you need to build on the basics that you have already learned, instructor John Shepherd will supply you with the tools you need to improve and play like a star! The 8 lessons will cover hand techniques, reading music, chording, etc., while working one on one with an experienced guitar player. Bring your own guitar and your inner rock star! ACT Prep

This course offers a comprehensive content review for each of the ACT’s four required tests – English, Math, Reading, and Science. Students will also have 24/7 access to pre/post tests online with tutorials for one calendar year.June 5th - 8th

Registration

Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Mailed refunds are usually received within two to three weeks.

Refunds

A transferable voucher may be given for the amount of the class if a student cancels 48 hours prior to the start of the class.

All students must register and pay all course fees prior to the first day of class.

Continuing Education classes will not meet on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 16th) or Spring Break (March 20th- 24th).
