In Person

Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received. All credit course students will be required to pay a $20 annual infrastructure fee.

A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Mailed refunds are usually received within two to three weeks.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds

A transferable voucher may be given for the amount of the class if a student cancels 48 hours prior to the start of the class.

All students must register and pay all course fees prior to the first day of class. Continuing Education classes will not meet on the Labor Day Holiday (September 5th), Fall Break (October 10th & 11th), and the Thanksgiving Break (November 23rd - 25th).


Personal Interests & Senior Sage Pottery

This class explores the art of forming and shaping clay. Anyone can participate, regardless of skill level. Working one-on-one with students, the instructor will guide new potters as their skills improve. You will advance at your own rate while making creative pieces. Explore hand-building techniques such as Coil, Slab, and Wheel and learn how to incorporate decoration and embellishments to improve surface design. Experienced students will continue their exploration of ceramic art by practicing advanced hand techniques. Have fun with experienced welder Sarah Kennedy, as she shows you some creative ways to turn metal into beautiful pieces of art through welding. Graphic Design (ART 2003 C1)

This course instructs the student in graphic design skills using traditional and digital tools, materials and procedures employed in the communication arts industry. Sewing (ART 2001 C1)

Instructor Lois Banton will cover simple repair and alteration techniques. You will learn how to hem pants by hand and machine. Techniques for altering garments, replacing buttons, and fixing rips will be demonstrated. Students will use acrylic paints to paint a still life, self-portrait, and landscapes. Beginners will learn basic painting techniques. T-Shirt Quilting (ART 1001 C1)

Want a special gift for a graduate, friend, or family member? If you have 6 to 28 t-shirts, you can design and make a keepsake quilt for someone to cherish. You must supply your own t-shirts and fusible midweight interfacing. This project requires you to spend extra time working on your quilt outside of the class time. Sewing machines will be available, but participants may bring their own machines. This course focuses on the core principles of game design. Students explore the tools and methods used by designers in creating game prototypes. This class starts at the very beginning! By the end of this course, you will understand and “talk” computer lingo. This computer course includes an overview of Windows operating systems, and introductions to word processing, and more. This class focuses on basic features of Photoshop so that the student can navigate the environment and use the Photoshop tools to work with photographic images. Digital Photography (BUS 1191 W1)

Join National award winner, Bill Cooper as he walks you through all aspects of photography and more. He will help students learn how to use their equipment. Sessions will include portraits, landscapes, still life, photojournalism, macro, and more depending upon the needs of the students. You will learn tips and techniques to produce quality photos. Internet Basics (BUS 1671 C1)

This course introduces students to the Internet and email. Students search for stock quotes, airline schedules, news, weather, online newspapers, etc. The use of search engines, downloading, sending attachments, and email are covered. Windows 10 (BUS 2083 C2)

Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of Windows, and the most popular operating system in the world for personal computers. Instructor Susan Ligon will teach you how to use Windows 10 to accomplish basic tasks on a personal computer, such as running programs and managing files, as well as how to customize and maintain the Windows operating system. It also introduces the Microsoft Edge browser and shows you how to find information on the Internet. Learn basic word processing functions including: enter, insert, delete and replace text, set margins and tabs, save and print documents, create headers and footers, insert page breaks, use of spell check graphic features, and other automated tools. IPhone®… I’m Lost!

There is so much more you can do with an iPhone® besides making phone calls, sending text messages and browsing the web! While this gadget is cool, we first need to figure out how to use it! In this workshop, Paige Laws will show you how to set up your iPhone® to email, use WiFi networks, Bluetooth, and iTunes. You’ll also learn how to take pictures, send them to friends, install apps and make your iPhone® even smarter. Don’t forget to bring your iPhone® 4S, 5 or 6. IPhone®… I Can Do That!

Now that you’re more comfortable with your iPhone® after the basic workshop, we’re going to take it to the next level. We’ll discover more about the pre-loaded apps and explain the avenues for downloading apps, songs, movies, books, games, and more. We will also learn how iTunes and iCloud can store, protect, and share all of your valuable data. Don’t forget to bring your iPhone® 4S, 5 or 6. Personal Interests & Senior Sage Zumba (HPR 1421 C1)

Dance your way into fitness with this Latin-inspired experience. Zumba joins high energy movements with dance combinations to achieve a full body workout. Zumba helps tone, sculpt, and burn fat while blending exercises such as squats, knee lifts, and bicep curls. Ollie Golatt will make sure you have so much fun you won’t realize you are working out. Conditioning

The first half of the class is geared toward cardiovascular improvement. The second half of the class is weightlifting with small dumbbells. Students are required to have a yoga mat and their own small dumbbells. This is a beneficial course for people who want to get into shape. Weightlifting (HPR 1811 C1)

Throughout the semester students will work on how to achieve different goals such as increased speed, power, flexibility, endurance, strength, and muscular size. Students will be working all major muscle groups including legs, chest, back, shoulders, and arms with increasing amounts of resistance. Instructor, Kim Martin will also cover the basics of nutrition to help build a “more fit” you. Yoga

Yoga is designed to connect the mind and body. Participants will focus on strength and balance movements designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress. You will benefit from this class whether you are a new student learning the basics or you are more experienced. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat to class. Hunter Education Course

Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, must complete a hunter education course and carry a valid hunter education card to hunt in Arkansas. Children under 16 may hunt without hunter education certification as long as they are under the direct supervision of an adult who is 21 years or older. Arkansas recognizes hunter education cards from other states. Arkansas’s Hunter Education program is recognized in all states as well as in Canada and Mexico. Registration is required. This class is a private instruction class. It typically meets one-half hour or one hour per week. All applied class instruction courses require five hours of practice per week for every half-hour of individual instruction. Lab fee is $25 for one-half hour per week and $50 for a one-hour per week. Learn to communicate in the manual-visual mode and receive instruction in learning the alphabet, vocabulary, whole number system, and elementary conversation. Instructor Mary Helen Winkler has designed this class for individuals interested in learning to communicate with the hearing-impaired using the total communication approach. AR Concealed Carry Course

Taught by certified concealed handgun safety instructor, Buck Morris, this course offers a safe, friendly environment for Arkansas residents to qualify to conceal a handgun with a permit (license). Classroom experience and firing qualification (to be held at a local range) meets the requirements of Arkansas Act 419 of 1995. Paramedic Refresher Course (EMT 2503 CE)

This course follows the USDOT National Standard Curriculum and provides 48 hours of refresher training. Information provided assists Arkansas certified or nationally registered Paramedics to meet recertification requirements. Pre-registration is required. Insurance Continuing Education

Led by Dennis Jumper of Agent Training Solutions of Arkansas, this course will satisfy up to 8 hours of insurance continuing education certification. All topics are approved for Life, Health and P & C agents. Youth Mental Health First Aid

This 8-hour course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behaviors and substance use disorder. Under the direction of Barry Adams of Delta Gymnastics, girls and boys from ages 3 to high school will build strength, balance, coordination, and self esteem while learning new skills and improving old ones.

Slammin’ Jammin’ Guitar Lessons

Whether you are brand new to guitar or you need to build on the basics that you have already been taught, instructor John Shepherd will supply you with the tools you need to improve and play like a star! Lessons will cover hand techniques, reading music, chording, etc., while working one on one with an experienced guitar player. Bring your own guitar and your inner rock star!
