Kids on Campus Auditions for Forrest City Little Theatre
Boys, girls, and adults of all ages are needed for the July 25th and 26th performance of Oliver at the EACC Fine Arts Center. Children ages 6 and up are asked to attend auditions on Sunday, May 3rd at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church. Rehearsals will begin in May and continue until the July performance. ACT Prep With more than two million students taking the ACT test each year, competition to get into the best colleges and universities is on the rise. Sylvan Learning certified instructors will teach a plan that builds the skills, study habits, and attitudes your teenager needs to score higher on test day and apply to college with confidence. Students of all test-taking abilities will benefit from Sylvan’s highly personalized and targeted approach that focuses on the exact skills needed to successfully answer test questions. A comprehensive content review for each of the ACT’s four required tests - English, Math, Reading, and Science will be included. Students will also have 24/7 access to pre/post tests online with tutorials for one calendar year. Test date is Saturday, June 13th . Ever feel frustrated because your drawing of a horse or baseball player just doesn’t look the way you think it should? In this class, we will work on techniques to help you draw. Slammin’ Jammin’ Guitar Lessons
Whether you are brand new to guitar or you need to build on the basics that you have already been taught, instructor John Shepherd will supply you with the tools you need to improve and play like a star! 8 lessons will cover hand techniques, reading music, chording, etc., while working one on one with an experienced guitar player. Beginning Handbells
This class will teach students the art of ringing handbells. They will learn the basics of reading music, techniques involved in playing handbells, and performance fundamentals. The 4-day class will culminate in a performance for family and friends on the last day of class. This is a very hands-on class sure to excite and inspire any child that enjoys music. Sticks and Stones: Stepping Stones
Add interest to your outdoors with custom made stepping stones. It is easy to do using plaster, cement, and sand. Then just add your own personal touches with embellishments like sea shells, glass, beads, and other accents of your choosing. Junior Golf Camp
Join former University of Arkansas golfer, Drew Higginbothom, to learn the fundamentals of golf. Campers will work on gripping, swinging, chipping, and putting in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players wanting to learn the techniques, as well as the rules of golf. If you have clubs, bring them. Bugology
If you love bugs, looking for bugs, and digging in the dirt, then this is the camp for you! Susan Ligon will teach you all sorts of things about all the creepy crawlies that everyone loves to hate. Each day you will learn about different types of insects and create various bug crafts and art. Along with various insect activities, we will also have special buggy snacks and games. Passport to the Art World
No passport or packed bags needed for this week of touring around the world with instructor Susan Ligon. We will “visit” many countries and explore the culture, history, geography, and visual arts of each one. Students will create many exciting artworks in the style of the countries they “visit”. Recycled Reading
Turn a discarded book into a work of art! Art educator, Beatrice McEwen, will introduce you to different methods of recycling books including painting, collage, folding, stamping, drawing, writing, tearing, stenciling, and other creative alteration techniques. Hoopin’ it Up Basketball Camp
Have fun with a former University of Mississippi Basketball player, Emmanuel Wade, as he teaches you the basics of basketball. You will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players and emphasizes learning to play together effectively as a team. Don’t forget to wear athletic shoes, appropriate clothing, and bring a water bottle. Missoula Children’s Theater Camp
Generously co-sponsored by the EACC Foundation & Jan Haven
Make plans to be a part of EACC’s 6 annual Children’s Theater Camp. Once casting is complete, you will become involved with comedy, acting, singing, and dancing, as well as staging, scenery design and development. The camp program culminates in a dress rehearsal and a public performance on Saturday, July 11th at 5:00 pm. Children must be available to rehearse for the entire week between the hours of 9:00 am - 2:00 pm and on Saturday from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Learn to make batteries from fruits or potatoes and make a fantastic crystal tree. You will work with invisible ink and powerful magnets. Activities will include creating a glob from glue, making a dirty penny turn green, looking at prepared slides using microscopes, and the use of paper chromatography to separate colors. Designing Engineers
Build your own rubber-powered model airplane. Use your model as a learning tool in aerospace education, or just have fun building a sound airplane that actually flies when assembled. Have fun designing and building model bridges. Join us in our bridge building contest to see which one can hold the most weight. Learn simple engineering skills; build 6 electronic projects in all, including a patrol car siren, burglar alarm, and Morse code transmitter. You will learn how the different electronic components work. Bring a little imagination and get ready to “Fly” with this fun class. Welcome Summer Campers!! Congratulations to all of the area students that were recommended by their teachers for EACC’s 32nd annual Summer Enrichment Camp! During the week of July 13th, approximately 100 students from area school districts will work on higher level thinking strategies and group interaction skills as they create masterpieces in Oodles of Art. Summer Enrichment Camp is an annual 4-day program designed to provide fun and challenging enrichment for academic achievers entering grades 2nd - 6th.
Book ART
Each day the campers will read an age appropriate book together and then do an activity and/or art project to go along with the book. The children will paint with different types of materials. The campers need to wear clothes that can get paint on them! Class size is limited. Conditioning: Boot Camp (HPR 1321 C1)
Boot camp is a popular class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. You will benefit from the expertise of certified personal trainer, Nathaniel Thomas. This boot camp is designed to be different all the time and push participants harder than they would push themselves. This class will offer encouragement rather than intimidation. Pottery Techniques
This course is intended for those studying ceramics for the first time but is open to advanced students who wish to do independent study. T-Shirt Memory Quilt
Want a special gift for a graduate, friend, or family member? If you have 6 to 24 t-shirts, you can design and make a keepsake quilt for someone to cherish. You must supply your own t-shirts. Yoga
Yoga is designed to connect the mind and body. Classes will focus on strength and balance movements designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress. This class explores the art of forming and shaping clay. Anyone can participate, regardless of skill level. You will advance at your own rate while making creative pieces. Explore hand-building techniques such as coil, slab, and wheel. Learn how to incorporate decoration and embellishments to improve surface design. Experienced students will continue exploration of ceramic art by practicing advanced hand techniques. Professional Development Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Recertification
ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics, communication, system of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS) Recertification PALS uses a series of stimulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. Healthcare Provider CPR
The Healthcare Provider course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings. Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Refresher Course (EMT 1501 CE) This course provides 24 hours of refresher training and follows the USDOT National Standard Curriculum. Registration
Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received.
Cancellation Policy
A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Refund checks are ususally mailed within two to three weeks.

A transferable voucher may be given for the amount of the class if a student cancels 48 hours prior to the start of the class. *excludes Summer Enrichment Camp*
