Kids on Campus ACT Prep

Certified instructors will teach a plan that builds the skills, study habits, and attitudes your teenager needs to score higher on test day and apply to college with confidence. Students of all test-taking abilities will benefit from MasteryPrep’s highly personalized and targeted approach that focuses on the exact skills needed to successfully answer test questions. A comprehensive content review for each of the ACT’s four required tests – English, Math, Reading, and Science will be included. Students will take a practice ACT Test prior to class starting. This test will be scored and target areas where help may be needed. Students report to the Learning Resource Center Room B-129 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 1st for pre-test. Monday - Thursday, June 5th - 8th 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Fee: $170 Learning Resource Center B129 Test date is June 10, 2017. You must register through the ACT website. Deadline for test registration is May 5, 2017. Late registration fee required by May 6th - 19th.

Slammin’ Jammin’ Guitar Lessons

Whether you are brand new to guitar or need to build on the basics that you have already been taught, instructor John Shepherd will supply you with the tools you need to improve and play like a star! 8 lessons will cover hand techniques, reading music, chording, etc., while working one on one with an experienced guitar player. Little Brushes

Little Brushes is designed to bring out the inner artist in your child. Activities include canvas paintings as well as other fun projects including t-shirt decorating, mosaics, flower pot project, print-making, collages, puzzle design, and much more. Farm Animal Fun

If your child loves animals, they will have a blast in this hands-on class. Participants will do art projects pertaining to farm animals, as well as learn about the different kinds of animals. Tennis Camp

Discover the basic rules and shots of the game. Using simple drills, you will not only learn how to hit the ball over the net, but you will learn skills for moving quickly around the court. No experience required. Be sure to wear tennis shoes. Bring a tennis racquet and water. Adventure Camp

Climb outside of your comfort zone and hang out at the EACC Adventure Training Center. By taking on our state-of-the-art outdoor challenge course, you’ll learn that taking risks, both mentally and physically, is key to achieving your goals. You’ll also strengthen your communication and problem solving skills while having the experience of a lifetime! Kids on Campus Sciensational Workshops

Hands on workshops dedicated to providing the highest quality programs to make science interesting, fun, and educational for children.

Model Airplanes

In this class, students will design and build their own model airplanes and bridges. They will use their model airplanes as a learning tool in aerospace education. A bridge building contest will be held to see which one can hold the most weight. Monday - Thursday, June 5th - 8th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Entering Grades 2nd - 4th Fee: $152 CB1-107

CSI - Crime Scene

Be a super science sleuth and have fun learning about forensics, crime scene investigations, and crime lab chemistry as you perform different experiments designed to show you just how those tricky cases are solved. Search for the evidence, gather clues, and discover how science can help solve a mystery. Participants will dust for fingerprints, analyze handwriting, test for blood type using simulated blood, examine hair and clothing fibers, practice chemistry to identify mystery substances and much more. Creative Engineering

Across the Nation

Kids love learning about the United States. In this fun class, students will learn all about Arkansas and other states. Students will explore fun facts about the states while doing engaging art activities. Monday - Wednesday, June 19th - 21st 9:00 am - 11:30 am Entering Grades 1st - 2nd Fee: $49 CB1-109

Junior Golf Camp

Join Drew Higginbothom, former University of Arkansas golfer, to learn the fundamentals of golf. Campers will work on gripping, swinging, chipping, and putting in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players wanting to learn the techniques, as well as the rules of golf. If you have clubs, bring them. Moving and Shaking

Get your body and brain moving while you get those wiggles out! You will use yoga, Zumba, and other fun dances to sharpen your minds and your moves. Through music and movement, you will build balance, coordination, creativity, and confidence! PreK Picasso

Work with an advanced three dimensional construction kit that is yours to keep and take home. Design and build simple or complex models of a vehicle, a robot or buildings. You will also get your own 3-volt geared motor to power up a moveable Radar Surveyor. Learn the many ways you can make your motor run. Hands on is the only way, so prepare to build from directions and from your own imagination! Monday - Thursday, July 24th - 27th 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Entering Grades 4th - 6th Fee: $152 CB1-107

In this class pre-school age children learn about the works of great art masters through fun, open ended, hands on experiences. Students will discover their artistic abilities through painting, sculpting, collage projects, and other crafts while also learning about famous artists and more. Kids on Campus Basketball Camp

Have fun with Coach Josh Wingo as he teaches you the basics of basketball. You will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense in a fun and positive environment. This camp is designed for beginning and intermediate players and emphasizes learning to play together effectively as a team. Don’t forget to wear athletic shoes, appropriate clothing, and bring a water bottle. Children’s Theatre Camp

Join Compass Creative Dramatics and make plans to be a part of EACC’s 8th annual Children’s Theater Camp. Stretch your creativity and bravery muscles through daily rehearsals for The Wizard of Oz. Creative Writing

Students learn the basic elements of story creation and put their inspirations on paper. Children gain confidence in a fun, nonjudgmental environment where everyone supports each other’s ideas. Home writing is suggested but not required. The goal is to ignite the creative spark by temporarily casting off rigid academic requirements. Kids on Campus Conditioning and Agility Camp

Participants in this speed camp will understand and learn the proper mechanics of conditioning. Learning this early will enhance the athlete’s performance for years to come. Join Rebekah Williams for a fun week of learning how to start, grow, and care for a wonderful garden! Adventure Training Center The Adventure Training Center provides the ultimate training experience for building a successful team and improving self confidence. This course is designed to teach western riding techniques and equitation riding to students with little or no previous experience. Students will develop their skills through practical experience and will have individualized equitation lessons in a group setting. Yoga

Yoga is designed to connect the mind and body. Instructors will lead participants to focus on strength and balance movements designed to increase flexibility and reduce stress. Eastern Arkansas Literacy The Eastern Arkansas Literacy Project’s mission is to provide high-quality, private, and confidential tutoring services to adults in an effort to improve their basic reading and writing skills. Classes are also provided for students who want to develop their speaking, writing, and reading skills in English. The Literacy program at EACC serves clients in St. Francis, Cross, and Lee counties.

Interested in Becoming a Literacy Tutor? Applied Voice (MUS 1021 C1)

This class is a private instruction class. No audition required. It typically meets one-half hour or one hour per week. All applied class instruction courses require five hours of practice per week for every half-hour of individual instruction. Lab fee is $25 for one-half hour per week and $50 for one-hour per week. Become a volunteer literacy tutor and teach an adult to read, write, or speak English. No foreign language skills are necessary. Training for tutors is available.

Professional Development Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Recertification

ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, system of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. Healthcare Provider CPR

Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS) Recertification PALS uses a series of stimulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. Wednesday and Thursday, June 14th & 15th 9:00am - 5:00pm Fee: $60.00 Learning Resource Center -B128

The Healthcare Provider course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings. This 8-hour course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behaviors and substance use disorder. The Youth Mental Health First Aid USA curriculum is primarily focused on information participants can use to help adolescents and transition-age youth, ages 12-18. This course is designed to provide hands-on skills in oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing, basic welding, and safety necessary in the maintenance and repair of production equipment. It provides a basic introduction to TIG and MIG welding procedures and practices. Registration

Classes are filled on a first-come first-serve basis, and early registration is encouraged. Please note that fees are due upon registration to reserve a space in a class. A student is not officially enrolled in a class until payment is received.

Cancellation Policy

A 100% refund is given when a course is cancelled by the College. EACC reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. Refund checks are ususally mailed within two to three weeks.

A transferable voucher may be given for the amount of the class if a student cancels 48 hours prior to the start of the class. *excludes Summer Enrichment Camp*
