NATIONAL EVENING
WORKSHOP WATCH
HIGHLIGHT
Umbrella took a stroll during the day off to see the progress of the ever ambitious Highlight team. With no time to waste the tutors were onsite working on the 10 metre tower which is starting to take place. It is hard to imagine the scale until you see it up close, so go an check on the progress. Walk to the lighthouse, take the right hand path, then turn right on the next path you reach.

NATIONAL EVENING this year felt greater
than ever before. The energy from the very beginning was electric as overexcited creatures covered in glitter, paint and swathes of tinfoil lined up their nations best drinks and snacks. But what did we learn from each other? Each person tells a different tale. Amongst the highlights were having a drink from a Slovenian cow’s udder, sneaking into a Lithuanian forest, paddling pools at Malta, delicious vodka of Poland, marriage at Moldova, photobombing Belarus, Bang! Squirt unicorn juice and many many more! There were some sober eyes on the scene who have mentioned that sudden switch in atmosphere between tentativeness to lunacy. We could all feel it too, especially as the alcohol started to produce couples in every corner of the bar. Until next year... “It started like a village fair and within 10 minutes it became a pornographic version of eurovision, absolute chaos.”
EXCURSION TO KLAIPĖDA
After a long and drunken national evening some of the toughest EASians decided to get up at the tough time of 9am to get on the bus to Klaipėda, the third largest city in Lithuania, the capital of Klaipeda County and the country’s main port. Among the brave ones were some guys from team Montenegro. They told us that locals and hosts were really hospitable, they opened the Museum of Minor Lithuanian History that was actually closed that day especially for them. The curator of the museum was trying hard to explain everything but some of the participants were a bit tired. However, the walk along the river was very pleasant although they accidentally got separated from the group. Fortunately they found each other by the time of lunch that they enjoyed together. Yummy! Note: If you’re searching for new brilliant ideas or your wishes to come true find a magic mouse for ideas and magic cat for wishes...they’re, not too far away, somewhere in Klaipeda!

SCHELP
Come on baby light my fire! Looks like the cosy love seats are formed and ready to use, Schelp has a relaxing few days ahead of them.
Our teams are NASA India & CLEA Latin America and together we are going to make a bunch of appetizers that we decided to call "Tikka Tortilla". It will be a South American tortilla topped with small pieces of vegetables and coated cheese who were marinated in a spice mixture based on yogurt. The process is called "Tikka". All the recipes and ingredients will be published in our final booklet :)
EASA ATLAS OF ARCHITECTURE
On a single small piece of paper, draw/write/do anything to show us your thoughts on the architecture of your country.
WORKSHOP WATCH COLLECTOR GATHERER
After waiting the longest of all the workshops, Collector Gatherer are finally well on their way! They have erected the main frame and foundations for the structure, leaving the floor, cladding and internal floors to finish. The staircase will become a ladder to save time, but at the rate they are going we are confident there will be a finished product. The team were working really well together, perhaps its due to the team bonding exercises played on the beach last week.
PARTY ANIMALS
SANDBOAT
A small wicker town is already growing in the dunes. The team already marked the future layout with twigs, and are working hard on getting the remaining towers to the site. They are asking for more participants if anyone would like to join in and give it a go!
5250 pieces of wicker = 150 wicker ‘flowers’ = 16 wicker cylinders = 1 Sandboat
The night escalated quite quickly and extremely bizzare things happened. A night of Unicorns and weddings and free ties all sounds quite nice in theory, but the reality was comparable to an uncommonly lustful zombie apocalypse. If I had to pick a favourite drunken mess, it would be the vomiting Naked-from-the-waist-down girl, nationality unknown. Poor child.
Doggy in the dunes seems to be the preferred after hours activity for some EASians however, so be careful which way you look if you find yourself stumbling in the direction of the beach. Every night can be a full moon.
Jonas, Šarukas, Mantas and Kipras, of
GARBANOTAS BOSISTAS
How did you find out about this event? Well, actually we were invited by our friend Saulė. She has known our lead singer Šarukas, for quite a while. We didn’t know what to expect when she asked us, we certainly didn’t think it would be this much fun! What made you decide to play here?
I can’t wait to see what you all get up to at Sangria night - the forecast is 100% chance of passion.
The location is so beautiful we have come to play and then spend a few days on the beach as a holiday. We didn’t know much about EASA but when we got here we heard all the stories of last night and remembered that architects are crazy people!
xoxo
Where are you from and how did the band form? We are all from Vilnus. I was playing with the bassist Jonas, and Šarukas (lead singer) and Mantas (guitar) are brothers who played together. We met at a jam session and liked each others sound. We have been playing for three years now!
Gossip Cat
EASA BIRTHDAYS!!
Umbrella wishes a very happy to you: Be careful! Bats are in EASA town, roaming the accomodation hallways. It would be bad if they end up in your hair or your anywhere...
HUMANS OF NIDA
If you managed to survive Sunday night you may have been living in fear of Gossip Cat ever since. Don’t worry, I’ll be as gentle as an imaginary cat journalist can be!
The shameless behaviour continued on into the early hours of Monday. One of our lovely bar staff was discovered on the receiving end of a skin flute recital. The showers were definitely hot that morning.
EASA ART
Yesterday, a lucky few of us witnessed a ground breaking performance for EASA. After a few tests, an unnamed EASian conceptualist was ready to commence his meditation on emptiness, transience and its relation to the community spirit. By permanently moving to the lobby and giving up all of his possessions for borrowing, he attempted to delve deeper into the mode of simultaneous contemplation and non-contemplation. He continues his work today as a part of a group vow of silence, having unburdened himself of most of his clothing, and was, after a lunch made up of mostly flowers and the zen exercise of picking up community waste, last seen with a group of disciples exploring personal space, communication and emptiness in the sunlight. If able, try and open yourself up to this non-event while it is still taking place in Nida.
GOSSIPCAT
Aoife Flynn Ireland
How would you describe your music? I am not willing to describe it, especially because we are still searching for the sound. Everything is changing very fast. Will we ever hear the pipe song again? Sure, if you got to Berlin to a techno club. The pipes are crazy here, like from an 80s sci-fi movie and we are underground and the masters listen to what’s happening below.
