apology
Dear Swedish team, this is an apology to all of you and to the community. On Saturday the Bulgarians did not come for the afternoon cleaning duty and we are sorry for not completing our responsibilities. This is a shame for all of us. Our NC wanted us to help with the cleaning after the national evening. The aim was to see the reality. This community does not need assignments but at the same time we rely on them. Forgetting about the afternoon cleaning duty was a good challenge to do our real task-to understand. We have to be reminded that shared responsibility is EASA fundamental and also a phenomenon based on two things - the responsibility itself and trust. The combination of them makes our community so real. Let’s rethink, dear easians! P.S. We would love to help with whatever comes to your mind. Just give us a call +359886174176 Some guilty Bulgarians

excursion Three double-decker buses left the hospital early in the Friday morning heading to Aarhus. Over there group stacked their luggage into a big hall where the sleeping concert was about to take place later in the evening, and headed for their tours around the city. During the day Aarhus saw we visited local architecture, art and cafes and got a brand new bar and installations for the night. In the evening, after the excursion tours, welcome drinks and very tasty dinner (may even be one of the best here so far) were served in Institut for X, a non-profit culture, business and education platform in Aarhus. As the sun set, excursionists were treated with great tunes by Therese Aune and abrikos.abrikos. The excursion day ended with the sleeping concert. All the mattresses were laid on the floor of a huge hall and the stage was located in the middle of the room. The sleeping concert workshop had also put up beautiful visuals that was projected on white cloth hanging from the wall and ceiling. The concept of sleeping concert was great. After a long day it was the best one could imagine to lay down on your mattress and watch the visuals while the calming music lulled you into sleep.
easa, 2018, rijeka On Sunday the place to be was the Bulows with presentations and documentaries being showed the entire evening. One of those was the EASA 2018, Rijeka, Croatia presentation which other than being very refreshing was also kind of mysterious. While the concept was well explained in the presentation, the flyer, as well as on the radio few weeks ago, some questions remained. We asked you if you had any questions for the organizing team, and they answered your questions.
- Are you thinking about doing some internet platform to keep us involved before the event? Soon a group called ‘EASA RECYCLE BIN’ will be launched. It is going to be open for literally everyone. All ideas, wishes, comments, videos, advice are more than welcome. We want people to really get to know the location in time before the event. We want them to know where they’re going, and to be involved as much as they want.
- How is this theory applied to workshops, did you actually change anything?
There will be a public forum in Rijeka organized in collaboration with the local architectural society in which the locations for EASA will be discussed. Citizens are going to discuss which spaces are in need of rethinking and readapting. When the locations are chosen we will be getting permits for them so that workshop results could stay there permanently and be in good use to the society. All this is going to happen before the ITM so locations will already be chosen when we get there.
- One tutor was wondering how are the workshops going to be connected, she was hoping that the tutors could be better informed about what others are doing so that possible collaborations could happen, what can you tell us about that?
We are very much aware of the megaworkshop question, but that is something to be discussed at the ITM.
- What is going to happen to the theoretical workshops?
In our opinion theoretical workshops are perfect the way they are, and they will stay that way. We are not deconstructing anything, we are only reconstructing what needs reconstruction.
- And the last question, maybe the most important one. Is there going to be burek for breakfast? We will do our best to make it happen.
workshops imprint One of the more graffitied rooms of Fredericias Youth House welcomed the screen printing workshop Imprint. Even more creative than the space they occupy, the participants are hard at work on coming up with new ideas and designs. We can’t wait to see what they end up with! During their breaks from working or throwing sticks around with the Danish (they swear it’s a real game) you can find them gossiping at the beach. If half of them aren’t suffering from one of their moral hangovers, that is.
enhanced space for aliens
up to date workshop - meeting with the locals
One of the more hidden workshops at Bulows is ESA, a group of humans designing for aliens. They’ve come a long way from their starting point of ‘super nothing’ first by recording different alien species and trying to identify universal needs of the ‘unknown users’ like temperature, pressure, humidity. Now they are shifting their focus to the geometry of the design and the format of the final presentation. All of their work is documented on sort of an idea timeline on their wall so you can go check out their progress there. Answering the question of Life, the Universe and Everything isn’t easy so remember, when in doubt, 42.
The cool metal frames of the ‘Up to date’ workshop will soon start popping up around town. They examine the notion of ‘what hospitality means to you?’ and one of them will be the product of a collaboration with the locals. The workshop invited locals to a meeting over tea and cookies on Friday and presented their project and ideas. The locals in return shared useful information and stories with the participants. Other than interest and knowledge, the local ladies showed many skills: painting, basket weaving, making jewelry, growing flowers and many others so the result will surely be beautiful!
We talked with Alessandro, one of the participants in ´Up to date´ workshop. “Usually when you visit another country you are treated as a tourist, that is why it is so interesting to have the opportunity to be hospitable towards the local people.” Because the final result of ´Up to date` workshop is going to stay in Fredericia Ali finds it very important to do the whole proses in collaboration with the locals. “Even though the final result would end up being shit, what we and the locals have learned from our conversations is definitely more important than a beautiful object.”
babel The tower, that once divided us in to myriad of small nations that are competing in who can drink more, is back in EASA to unite our different perspectives. The woodtopia that Austrian team presented during their bid for EASA 2017 from the INCM in Madrid transformed into workshop. Basic premise is that with enough raw wood, screws, nails, tools and few people roaming around a small city of structures will emerge and to be honest after just few days they proved their point. Everything is based on a horizontal approach in which all of the ideas are put on board, discussed during the afternoon meeting and afterwards comes the production, but also the workshop became the atelier for all things that Easias are missing during their stay here. We can already thank them for the roof our hungry stomachs in the hospital courtyard and of course annex of the bar table that we were so desperately missing – basically if you need something and it can be made of wood just go to the Bülows because there’s always someone hanging around that you can talk to. There’s also few projects on the way: the tower, chill-out bench bed, boxes for EASA archives and a bus. We wouldn’t dare to suggest is it a critique of status quo or a thing of pure necessity, but Babel workshop is also planning a lovebox. Furthermore, we really need to give it one for the Austrian team, they came here with the truck bringing all the wood, tools and apparently 2348790173 nails and it was all covered by sponsors. Best thing about this workshop is that the process never stops, once you are done with last structure you’re looking for the next project and we surely hope that they will be there when we need them.
fortune tellers While everyone was on the excursion, Slovakian fortune tellers were busy at the cinema. One of the questions we heard was: - ‘I have a boyfriend back home, but should i still have tons of sex at EASA?’ Abenaki

easa.fm - sexy sunday Once again National Evening treated us well. To celebrate the love of National Evening EASA FM put out special program for Sunday. Sexy Sunday started with “afternoon sex show” with beautiful cheezy r´n´b tunes, that worked just perfectly for hangover sex. Afternoon sex show warmed up everybody for the second part of the Sexy Sunday: “Vogue” lit it on fire and this time you could already smell and feel the sexiness! Just before dinner Anni and Venla treated all the sexy easians with their “Cool down set” just to give everyone a little bit of time to breathe before dinner. During dinner Ewan and Rob took over the sexy studio and treated people with sexy stories from the night before between the sexy songs. All in all Sexy Sunday was really a great show and it surely helped everyone to recall all the lovely memories from the National Evening!
neptune Catch of the day. Tasty fish sandwiches from local fisherman, some shiny mackerel and rust is all what’s going on in Neptune. They are really chilling and enjoy fishing there but at the same time they have quite a lot done and are finishing soon. Also locals are very interested about cooking by the sea and are really looking forward to use it. It is something that Fredericia was missing before.

colour // hospitalitymovement.org The Colour workshop, which is based in the hospital parking lot, has two complementary approaches to promoting and examining hospitality. One is a ‘hospitality caravan’, a mobile wooden shelter with an enclosed sleeping space on top and an open base made for socializing and exhibiting below. When finished it will be providing hospitality around Fredericia. Along with the physical manifestation of hospitality, during their research of the subject, the team came up with an idea for a hospitality service hospitalitymovement.org - an uber for kindness. By signing up with their contact info and location, new users (mainly easians for now) agree to provide and receive hospitality like meeting for a coffee, showing people around a city or even offering a sofa to stay on for the night. This is a response to perceived communication problems in the easa community and the society as a whole which seeks to strengthen connections between people. The site already works so we encourage you to check it out and sign up. Hospitality movement makes sure you will always have a friend in a strange new city!
current
cool workshop
Currently Current is working on casting some concrete by the harbour. There are already three modules out of seven standing on the foundation, two are casted and one is going to be casted by the end of today. Current is working hard to get the last casting done tomorrow so all the modules would be ready on Thursday. Probably because Current is doing well with schedule, the atmosphere is really relaxed. Earlier today half of the current crew were dancing on the tunes by EASA FM and the Cemex (company sponsoring Current workshop) man wandered around the dancing group taking photos for Instagram. There is also an Instagram competition at Current workshop. You get to mix a concrete from the start and cast it in the mold with your own hands. It takes only 15 minutes to dry, so if you have half an hour spare time, head to the harbour to do some casting!
The one we knew nothing about. We’ve been seeing them walking around town blind, drawing imaginary rooms on public streets, carrying dead bodies, ‘guarding’ the entrance to the hospital and so on… Last week we asked them what was the point of the workshop. The answer was ‘going crazy, bit by bit, every day’. This morning we asked the same question, this time they answered ‘pushing your limits and leaving your safety zone’. Participants claim to be enlightened, and like the fact that they have a lot of time to think and reflect on their exercises.
whats cooking The Tapaland workshop on Thursday was offering the Pink Soup made by Lithuanians. People were queuing up to sample this healthy dish which cost only 2 tokens. It’s a cold soup full of veggies and is often loved for its refreshing taste. The pink color comes from the two main ingredients - kefir and beets. It takes just few minutes to make. We would like to give you a chance to make it yourself. So here’s the recipe (enough to serve 4 people): • 1-2 small beets, boiled, peeled and coarsely grated (or just use a can of julienned beets). • 3 cups (750 ml) kefir (buttermilk) • 1 medium cucumber, quartered and sliced • 1/4 cup chopped green onion • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill • A generous pinch of salt • 4 hard-boiled eggs • Hot boiled or fried potatoes for serving All you need to prepare it is to just mix all the ingredients (except eggs and potatoes). After that place one egg cut in half in a bowl. Serve with hot potatoes. *** (You can ask Hilda (Tapaland tutor) to send a picture of the lithuanians making the soup).
crime chronicle 600 happy people also referred to as ‘walking niceness’ have been robbed on Thursday/ Friday while the sangria smoke was still in the air, messing with their sight. When the smoke was gone, so were the tools. Our organizers bought new tools, but the problem remains. If you have seen anything suspicious, please do tell, and keep your eyes open. Other than that, your drinking problem could be useful now more than ever, so keep up the good work!
art exhibition: stupidity and contradictions A spin off of Venturi’s concept will introduce us to the post-post-postmodernism era. The exhibition is presented to us by a community of artists, the most popular Filipos dePraks, a well-known conceptual artist famous for his ‘mirrors’ of postconstructionalism and Mario Pezzo, a performer famous for eating beer cans. The joke is very real so be sure to check it out in the hospital from Tuesday on.
ask teddy #2 Help me! How should pace myself? What´s the best work/ party/sleep strategy so that I don’t burn out too soon?
Firstly, leave some space in your heart and mind because the EASA spirit is yet to come. When it comes, rely on it. Until then make the community proud!
How I could become cool like teddy? What´s the secret??

sangria night
gossip girl
Once again the Spanish team treated us with love and welcomed everyone with flowers, good music and delicious Sangria. The combo brought out the sexy wild side of Easians and we saw some amazing tango moves. 720 litres of sweet sangria turned out to be just almost enough since there was some hundred litres more mixed up during the early hours. However everything went well and Easians were happy but the local police had a bit different opinion about all the noise that sangria caused. Around two o’clock the police moved the partying crowd inside but it didn’t slow down the party animals. While sangria circulating in their veins the Easians danced their way to the beach.
Oh my, oh my. So much has happened since I last talked to you. So many crazy events. You did not disappoint me in sangria night my crazy little animals. The sweet wine and hot music served by the Spanish made peoples inhibitions vanish by the time the traditional game of shot for a kiss started. Have to say there was some hot action happening at the serving station. Later in the evening when people started to retrieve to more private locations the best possible place to spot the forming couples was the gate. Several couples headed for the beach to either gaze at the sunrise or into each other’s eyes. It seemed like the gays were having a blast and sparks were flying across Europe. Team Finland was definitely enjoying themselves, as lip locking happened even after the game of free shots and Ireland got to feel that, even though the country might be cold, the ladies are not. One tired Finn didn’t even make it home and opted for getting some relaxing shut eye at the barracks. Another Irish gentleman had to gracefully admit defeat as a Greek girl, he thought he charmed at the dance floor with moves and plenty of French kisses opted to go to the beach with another fellow. Our brave Irishman did not back down before throwing some awkwardness in to the mix by walking up to the new couple and asking them how they liked the sunrise. Brilliant move, I must say, brilliant move.
¡Gracias Espania! Once again it was a blast!
After all the craziness of sangria night I felt that all you lovely easians lost your wild inner animals for a bit and changed into modest sloth mode. It is good to have a bit of a rest. There is definitely a trend of after bar toasties everyone’s munching on but besides toasties one extraordinary fellow tried midnight jellyfish snacking. Yes this crazy hepler are a jellyfish. I don’t know if it’s healthy but to me it sounds disgusting. National evening started slowly and was fairly chilled, but eventually escalated into a wild after party. A lot of people tried out the Indian Kamasutra twister and I bet people were inspired by it later in the night. Drunken people were feeling and getting lucky especially the handsome leprechaun who found more than one lady to share his lucky charms with. The towering man of Babel found a mutual language with more than one person as well and was speaking in tongues.
To finish my gossiping for now I would like to offer you guys a little advice. The grassy plot in the middle of the court yard in the bulows doesn’t give you any privacy not even if it’s dark as many of you were seen rolling around in the damp grass in the heat of passion.
