Artist and midwife Claire Harbottle is looking for contributions to ‘Birth Stories’ from parents of children of all ages with a connection to Chapeltown in Leeds.

Birth Stories NativityHub at Union 105 “Being a Midwife, many people share their memories of childbirth with me, whether these are from weeks, years or decades ago. I find these stories fascinating, both hearing what people remember from these monumental points in family life and how they were made to feel by care givers. It is hugely important that birth workers are aware of how long these memories (some good, some not so) can live with women and their families.”

Claire would like to sound record spoken narratives. These memories will be saved for the future and available online and will be edited together to provide a sound piece to accompany exhibited work as part of the NativityHub project. Please note: permission for use of any recordings will be obtained in advance but can be withdrawn by participants at any point in the future.
