An introduction to East Street Arts
An introduction East Street Arts mission is to support artists to create work andexperiences that bring lasting change to our everyday lives. We do this by: Responding to artists’ creative needs, wellbeing and prosperity. Offering a high quality innovative programme of exhibitions, performances and events. Providing an environment that nurtures creative exploration and collaboration for audiences.
Established in Leeds in 1993 we continue to have a commitment and base in the city and increasingly deliver infrastructure support and activities nationally and internationally. We build our reputation through the artist-led movement and explore the alternative, contesting the place for art and the role of the artist. Believing artists have a meaningful role in our every day lives and spaces we: Manage four permanent venues including our head quarters and bespoke building, Patrick studios in Leeds. Secure over 100 empty and civic spaces for artists and organisations across the UK.
