Featuring live events, art exhibitions, workshops, interactive games, and artistic interventions, Juliana’s Bike is organised by East Street Arts and forms part of Leeds Bike Fest and the Grand Départ Cultural Festival. Citizen Bike Tues 9th - Tues 30th July Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre, Briggate 9am-8pm daily Can Leeds collectively clock up 2,115 miles, the distance of the Tour de France, in record time? Artist Adam Young thinks we can! His adapted exercise bike with a mile-o-meter clocks our efforts in the Trinity Shopping Centre. A webcam keeps watch (no cheating now) allowing the world to see our progress. Leeds citizens, come and rack up the miles!

Follow Kasia Breska aka Pencilboxgirl’s progress online as she sets off on a 200 mile Scottish road trip in July on her customised Ridgeback Voyage bike with her best friend Laika “a Border Collie crossed with a space dog” who accompanies her in a specially adapted dog trailer (also known as a Voozek). Leeds Bike Fest Marquee at Skyride, Cookridge Street, Leeds 11am – 4pm Come and see Leeds’ first hotel on three wheels ‘J uliana’s Bike’ - and experience this weird and wonderful bike in action at Skyride. Adapted from a rickshaw frame it includes a space to sleep, a wood burning stove, toilet, lights, sink, and an awning for riders to sit outside and watch the world go by. The marquee also hosts a series of workshops, exhibitions, a café, live art and fresh bread delivered by bicycle.

Four times BAFTA nominated Blast Theory are bringing their captivating Rider Spoke project to Leeds and want you to join in and create a new interactive map of the city. A console and earpiece mounted on your handlebars guides you through the streets and asks questions so that you can leave your thoughts, confessions and memories at secretive hiding places across the city for others to discover.
Night Ride Sat 13th July Leeds to Hornsea 6pm onwards Follow #nightrideleeds on twitter and instagram to keep up with the event A group of unprofessional Leeds cyclists (a pop-up artists’ cycling club) ride 100 miles from Leeds to Hornsea, on the East Coast, all in the name of fun. Normally used for daily commutes (or nipping to the shops) the bikes and their owners put themselves to the test to see if they can navigate the dark roads of Yorkshire. Keep up with this radical art action by following their escapades online.
