East Street Arts is a national contemporary arts organisation based in Leeds. Our mission is to support artists through our events programme, membership activities, professional development and studio/ facility provision.
The aim of East Street Arts’ membership scheme is to support art students, artists and arts professionals, providing them with skills, advice and resources to help further their development. By joining this wellestablished community, you can actively engage with a national visual arts network, access opportunities, apply for workspace and participate in the annual open studios programme.
Studios With three sites in Leeds (Patrick Studios, Barkston House & Union 105) and one in Gateshead (Old Town Hall) we offer affordable artist studios that create a base for artistic communities.
Equipment Loan We have a collection of equipment that we hire to members for free. Based at Patrick Studios this includes cameras, tripods, projectors, slide scanners/projectors, DVD players and TVs.
Temporary Space We have temporary spaces across the country that can be used as studios, rehearsal, installation, filming, events or exhibition spaces.
Membership East Street Arts’ membership is a yearly subscription aimed at art students, artists and arts professionals who want to access any of the benefits listed above.
Professional Development We offer one-to-one mentoring to our members who want to discuss aspects of their practice. We also run workshops and host talks by artists and industry specialists.
Student Membership Students receive a 50% discount making membership £25 a year.
