University Honors Scholars Eligibility Criteria: • New, first-year applicants only (including dual enrollment students) • ACT composite score of 29 or higher (without the writing component) or SAT composite of 1340 or higher based on the math and reading scores only • High school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 (unweighted) scale • Community and school service and other leadership activities • Commitment to pursue a 4-year baccalaureate degree at ETSU's Johnson City campus.
University Honors Scholars Application Procedure: • Apply to ETSU for fall admission; application opens August 1st. • Complete the form on the Honors College, UHS webpage to request the UHS application. https://www.etsu.edu/honors/university_scholars/. • Read the application instructions carefully, and gather all information requested, including the cover letter and essays.
University Honors Scholars Application Procedure, continued… • Enter the information requested and submit. The application must be submitted as one document so please be sure to have all attachments ready when you complete the online resume portion of the application. • Provide the names and e-mail addresses for the three individual references. Forms will be sent to references automatically after completion of the application. • Application deadline is December 15th of the student’s senior year of high school (fall cohort program only). • 22 UHS applicants and 2 alternates accepted for each fall cohort
University Honors Scholars Benefits and Opportunities: • Robust University Honors curriculum, including undergraduate research or creative activity and thesis • Support of Honors College directors and professional staff throughout your academic career • Priority Advising and Registration • Honors graduation and transcript notation • The option to live in the Honors Living and Learning Community
University Honors Scholars Benefits and Opportunities, continued… • Scholarship (8 semesters): covers tuition and most fees, a standard residence hall and meal package, and an Honors allowance of $150/semester (which may increase to $500 if also receiving the Tennessee Hope Scholarship). • Honors House access 24/7 Honors House includes individual & group study rooms, computer lab, TV/movie room, conference room with presentation capability, and a mini kitchen, as well as the offices of University Honors Scholars staff • Free printing in Honors College computer labs

Garrett Evan Barker University Honors Scholar
Midway Honors Scholars Eligibility Criteria: • Transfer students only (excluding dual enrollment students) • College transfer GPA of 3.5 or better • At least 30 credit hours (excluding dual enrollment) earned from a community college or 4-year college/university. • Commitment to pursue completion of 4-year baccalaureate degree at ETSU's Johnson City campus.

Bert C. Bach Fine & Performing Arts Scholars Program Eligibility Criteria: • New, first-year applicants only (including dual enrollment students) • High School GPA = 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 (unweighted) scale • ACT composite score of 22 or higher (without writing) or SAT score of 1050 or higher (total of math and reading scores only) • Intention to complete a major or minor in fine or performing arts at ETSU’s Johnson City campus

Be sure to follow the instructions carefully • Be sure your essay "Why I must..." is well written and accurately expresses you and your understanding of your artistic work • Get at least three letters of recommendation from people who have taught you how to make art!

Bach Fine and Performing Arts Scholars College webpage for submitting your digital portfolio or other evidence of your artistry • Application deadline: Submit your completed application and all st other materials in a single packet no later than March 1 of your senior year (fall cohort only)

Honors-in-Discipline Eligibility Criteria: •
For the most part, incoming first-year, transfer, and current students are all eligible if the applicable major has HID
•
A few disciplines only accept students who’ve already taken college-level coursework in the discipline the time of application
•
Varies by discipline, but the minimum requirements are high school cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better (unweighted) or transfer cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better
•
A minimum ACT composite score of 25 (1200 SAT Critical Reading & Math) – Test scores are not required for transfer or current student applicants
•
Current student applicants need a GPA of 3.25 - 3.5 or higher in courses in the discipline depending on program) Note: Some programs have more stringent criteria; see website for details!
Honors-in-Discipline Application Procedure: Procedures vary by discipline; see website for more information and to be directed to a specific program’s HID webpage. Deadlines: •

Honors-in-Discipline Benefits and Opportunities: •
Scholarships: In-state tuition students: scholarships cover tuition and most course fees, but there is a limited number available. Scholarships are awarded as students graduate and open up spots. Out-of-State tuition students: scholarships cover the out-of-state portion of tuition and fees, allowing students to attend at the instate rate.

Resident of Tennessee or a border county, including: NC: Ashe, Avery, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Watagua, Yancey VA: Grayson, Lee, Scott, Washington
