Welcome to 2018 and welcome to Reck Bros -N- Sons 1st annual Genetic Advantage Sale! After many years participating in the Iowa Beef Expo and Hawkeye Simmental sales, we decided it was time to have our first production sale on the farm. Reck Bros. began in 1979 when two brothers had a vision of breeding Simmental cattle by selecting genetics that allowed them to differentiate themselves from others in the breed. The Simmental breed has experienced a number of changes since then, from light-colored to dark-colored and large-framed to smallframed cattle. Through all these changes, Reck Bros. has continued to rise to the occasion, focusing on our customers’ needs and selecting superior cow families to build off of, giving us what we like to call a Genetic Advantage. It has been our ability to adapt and progress through the years that has kept us in the cattle business for 3 generations and what will continue to drive us into the future. For nearly 40 years, we have strived to produce cattle that are functional, relevant, and good-doing with a little extra style and flare. As the cattle industry has advanced, our extensive A.I. program gives us the Genetic Advantage to offer cattle from some of the top sires in the industry. Coupled with our growing arsenal of donor cows, it allows us to offer cattle with an array of positive attributes to fit the needs of the commercial man and the seedstock producer and to produce cattle that can be successful in the show ring as well as the pasture. If the distance is further than 100 miles, we will accommodate the best we can. We encourage buyers to keep their bulls at the farm where we can get them into breeding condition with all vaccinations and a breeding soundness examination. We strongly encourage insurance be taken on your investment which will be available to purchase on sale day. Reck Bros. takes pride in our stock being functional and working for you. Getting your cows settled on the first service is our main objective. She was named the Reserve Simmental at the 2015 North Central Regional and the Reserve Overall breeding heifer at the 2015 Iowa State Fair FFA Show.
