Jewels of the Northland Sale 2016!

Hello from Minnesota! We are excited to invite you to the 7th Annual Jewels of the Northland! Whether you are in search of a fancy show heifer, donor cow, bred female or aged herd sire… this is the place to be in December! Each year as I sit down to write this greeting, I try to look for some sort of inspiration to share with and rejuvenate our friends and customers going into the winter months. Although finding inspiration this year with the downturn of the markets can be a challenge, I realized while filling water tanks one night looking out over the groups of heifers on grass, that the inspiration I was searching for was standing right in front of me. Wow…these are truly beautiful girls. The Simmental Breed continues to grow in popularity and it’s easy to see why…cow families just like these! Check out our winners page… Jewels genetics continue to command attention on the tan bark! We are proud the group that we have put together for Jewels is one that is built on proven cow families. Families that have been around to see all kinds of ups and downs of the market, challenging weather condition, unforeseen circumstances and have not only survived, but also flourished. Families that continue to be front pasture cows year after year and produce sons and daughters that push the breed in a sound, functional direction. We look forward to seeing everyone on December 3rd! Come early and join us the night before for the presale social and famous taco bar! Internet bidding will once again be hosted through LiveAuctions.TV. Give Amanda a call with any questions on getting signed up. Live bidding off TVs to strike up at noon in the warm Hilbrands Cattle Co sale facility preluded by a hearty bowl of soup and pulled beef sandwich. Don’t hesitate to give any of the breeders a call to discuss the offering or swing by our stalls at the North American; we would love to chat with you! See you the first Saturday in December in Clara City! Warm Wishes,

Hilbrands Cattle Company

AJE Miss Gracie Y7

Oh Miss Gracie, where to start? The day she was born we knew Gracie was special and not just because she was a Gabby natural. She had a successful show career for Trey Jass with a highlight of being named Reserve Overall Purebred at the North Central Regional Classic. Although she rocked the tan bark, we couldn’t wait to get her in production and if you have noticed the last two Jewels of the Northland Sales, you can see why. In her very short donor career, Gracie has quickly become known for popping off heifer calves that bring over $10,000 on the auction block. Jewels of the Northland 2014, featured HILB Beauty & Grace, purchased by Jim Russell and Allison Stephens, IL for $13,500, who not only was Reserve at the IL State Fair as a bred but turned in to a BEAUTIFUL mother and was named Res Cow/Calf Pair at the 2016 AJSA Eastern Regional Classic. That same year, HILB Heart of Grace, purchased by Collin Decap, IA for $11,250, rocked the AJSA North Central Regional with a 4th Overall Purebred Female finish. Jewels of the Northland 2015, HILB Sangria (Maverick daughter) captured the heart of Showmax Cattle, SD for $14,500. But lets not count the boys out! Denver 2015 was the time to shine for HILB Stock Broker, who led off the NSWW Res Champion Percentage Pen of Bulls and was purchased by Gana Farms for $15,000. Gracie works great conventional flush and IVF with her last few conventionals averaging 12-20 freezable embryos and 10-14 freezable reverse sort IVF. She was bred on March 21st and we hope this W/C Executive Order is the perfect Christmas present. We absolutely love our Executive Order calves and can’t wait to get our own Gracie EOs on the ground. I’m still not convinced we need to be selling her but as well as she flushes, she is in the prime of her life to make her new owner see the #dollarsigns!

We had never kept a Lookout x Stop & Stare female for our program. I admit not very smart on our part, but after our good friend Paul Krueger purchased Sneak A Peek in the 2012 Jewels sale, he was nice enough to let us buy half of her back. She was the sleek fronted, no holes kind of a female we thought could be a huge asset to our program and she has lived up to our high expectations. Her first natural calf, Covert Affair, a New Direction son, was a member of our 2015 Denver Champion Pen of 3 Percentage Bulls and in the judge’s opinion, their favorite bull in the pen show that day. He sold to Gana Farms, NE, and has been a great asset to their program. In last year’s sale, Mike Gonsalves snatched up both Sneak A Peek daughters we offered for his progressive program in California. Since entering our donor program soon after her first calf, Sneak A Peek has been flushed 6 times with a 15+ embryo average (Range of 9-22). Just as I was writing this footnote, Sneak A Peek laid down and had a solid black heifer calf out of Hall’s Confidence A30, so will be ready to crank right back into embryo production soon after the sale. Plus, you will get to take home 2 great females for the hammer price on sale day. If you are in search of a proven donor from a proven cow family, then be sure to bid early, often and most importantly, last come December 3rd and take this productive money making donor female home with you.

Loaded Peek like her sister, HILB Hide and Peek C7, that sold in last year’s sale to Mike Gonsalves, CA, for $6,000 is super sweet fronted, square made and stylish. Forever Hope...

AJE/HS/MB Glimmering Hope Z808

The HILB prefix most likely wouldn’t exist today if it wasn’t for this Hope cow family. In 2005, Amanda and I bought Glimmering Hope’s mother in partnership and from that partnership our friendship grew and eventually grew into something way way more. Couldn’t imagine and don’t want to imagine what life would be like today if this cow didn’t bring us together. So this female holds a special place in our hearts and is kind of hard to part with. Since the day this female hit the ground, we knew she would be a part of our donor program. Our kind; sexy to look at, great hipped, long made, sweet haired, disposition of a teddy bear, good structured and cool baldy face. Glimmering Hope was the lead heifer in our 2013 Denver Grand Champion pen of heifers and the main reason that pen won. Her flush sister Higher Hope sold in the 2012 Jewels sale to Watson and Roger Allen families for $20,000. She has grown into a beautiful cow just like Glimmering Hope and hung some banners for them again this summer as a cow/calf pair. Glimmering Hope is a great producer of high quality embryos. She calved last fall and was flushed one time before breeding her back to calf and she produced 27 freezable embryos. The most recent flush before that one she froze 15. You won’t have to wait long to get this girl back into embryo production as she is due in early January to Executive Order and that calf could very well pay for this donor and then some. With all the problems our world faces today, sometimes we all just need a “Glimmer of Hope” in our front pasture that we can stand by the fence and stare at to assure ourselves that everything is going to be all right.

If you are in search of a powerhouse, super soft made, free wheeling, fault free SimAngus™ herd sire, then this guy might just be the ticket. He is very docile and great to work with. A member of our Denver pen bulls in January and has been a favorite since he was a baby calf. We have been extremely pleased with our Silveiras S SIS GQ calves selling some this past year for $25,000, $15,000, $12,500 and $6,500. Making them one of our top selling sire groups. All this guy needs is some cows to take care of and being a strong age bull, he is ready to go to work now for fall breeding or turn him out in spring to cover lots of cows.

This Uprising daughter is backed by another donor from the Hilbrands program. I always liked the Hope donor, and acquired C226’s dam as an embryo. She doesn’t disappoint, always weaning a heavy calf in the fall. If you believe in proven cow families, this heifer is worth your consideration. Don’t forget, her dam is also a maternal sister to the Tingle donor, Hope Floats. C226 is checked pregnant to Uno Mas, carrying an ultrasound bull.

This black baldy, by Uprising, has been one of my personal favorites. C234 is a broody, easy going female that is backed by some of the Simmental breed greats, Hope and Ebonys Joy. Her dam, by Fat Butt, is a picture perfect female that I have high expectations for in the future. Her first daughter sold earlier this year on Gonsior’s sale and was a high selling pair. C234’s dam is also a maternal sister to Tingle’s donor, Hope Floats. C234 is checked pregnant to Uno Mas, carrying an ultrasound heifer. A.I. Sire: WLE Uno Mas X549 on 4/24/16 • Safe • Heifer Est. RED HOT MAMAS! Here are two sisters that walk the walk and cause everyone to say TEAM RED! Bigger question is which team red are YOU on? We were pretty anxious to get N Love into production after her North American and Denver victories and she more then exceeded our expectations. Its been stated before and I will harp on it again, the consistency Executive Order brings to the table for huge ribs and sound structures has yet to be matched in our breed and that’s exactly what he did with these N Love sisters. They have donor cow written all over them. But don’t take our word for it, come see them in Kansas City and Louisville! Breed them red, breed them black. You will love the results. Don’t miss out! Heads Up 20X ET LLSF Uprising Z925 LLSF Untouchable U925 SS Goldmine L42 SS Babys Breath P035 SVF Breath Taker J130 Baby’s Breath has been a staple of our program for many years and is always more than ready, willing and able to throw down and defend her title as one of the best in the breed. Her Uprising son, HILB Oracle C033R went into Louisville last fall and hung a Reserve Champion Bull banner as a February calf. He was a crowd favorite there and in Denver when he claimed high selling honors in “The One” Sale when he sold to Tim Spivey, IL, for $32,000. We used him fairly heavily in embryo work this past spring and anxiously await his calves. In 2015 Jewel’s sale daughters sold for $24,000 to Ronnie and Susan Smith, TX, and $11,750 to Brad Peterson, TX. This pair of full sisters to HILB Oracle can best be described as DONOR COW DELUXES. They like their dam are the kind you can’t poke a hole in. Super good at the ground, tons of bone and mass. Homozygous black and homozygous polled. They are so well balanced that they will be the kind that are flat out fun and easy to mate because whatever you throw at them they will make it work. Uptown Baby will be in our Kansas City and Louisville show strings so be sure to stop and check her out. Risen Baby is super laid back and wasn’t as into picture day as some but be sure to check out her video. She has been a farm favorite for a long time. She stuck first service to sexed Executive Order semen. We have a few EO x Baby’s Breath calves on the ground. Let me assure you they are electric and will send shivers down your spine. If in the market for frozen genetics, the IVF heifer embryos by Revival will be 3/4 sibs to these ladies and the kind that can advance any program. I think this red baldy is one of the best heifers I’ve sold. Her grandam, Babys Breath, has been a top donor for Hilbrands. Of course, that makes her dam a maternal sister to the Denver champion Crazy N Love. Her New Direction dam was my choice, on a previous Jewels sale, and after her first 2 calves is making a case for donor consideration. C224 is a deep ribbed female destined to be a great cow. She is checked pregnant to Executive Order, carrying an ultrasound heifer.

We think this girl could be extremely competitive in the senior division next year so if you’re looking for a big time show heifer to fill that slot in your barn, you might want to take a good hard look at this girl. These Neon’s do absolutely nothing but get better with age and this girl has that perfect build and design to take her to that next level. Extremely sound on the move with a beautiful soft pastern, big rib and smooth front end, it’s hard to poke a hole in this one. With our decision to sell Neon in Denver this year, we realized we haven’t kept too many of these Neon daughters back for our own replacements and think this girl could fit in pretty nice to our program. Scratch that, I think they all could but we all know that’s not how you get ahead in the game, you need to sell them even if they are your favorites. That’s not to say there wasn’t a battle though over which one we were going to keep part of and we might not even get lucky with that. We know not everyone likes a partner though so we’ll give you the chance to double your money and own her all. If that’s the case, we do reserve the right to one flush with a minimum of 6 freezable embryos at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience. This stunning lady has got to be one of the most feminine headed and fronted Neon’s we’ve ever produced. She is so elegant in her overall design and simply striking from the side profile. Big hipped, tons of internal dimension and stamped with that customary Neon good hind leg and soft pastern, she’s another one of those heifers that could be really competitive down the road. Steel Force has made quite a name for himself over the years and it’s because of his consistency in producing the good ones both in the show ring and in production.

I absolutely love this girl, she is so huge middled, smooth through her front 1/3, soft pasterned and simply floats on the move. I’ve said it before and I might mention it in every single one of these Neon’s footnotes… but they just keep getting better with age people and I can’t wait to see this one as a bred. From weaning to yearling is when they start to explode and I think this girl has got definite donor potential in her down the road. Added to all of this is one of the sweetest dispositions ever. She pretty much came in the barn puppy dog tame and that just might have a little something to do with my infatuation with her; but who doesn’t fall in love with a really good heifer with a lovable personality? On a side note, this is the one that I wanted to keep part of but didn’t win the battle, she’s definitely something we’d like to get some genetics back out of though down the road so with that in mind we are retaining the right to one flush with a minimum of 6 freezable embryos at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.

This girl just might be the show heifer deluxe out of these younger Neon daughters. Last year, when people asked us which heifer was the big time show heifer, we always went with the Neon x Combustible. She was a little greener at sale time and wasn’t quite at her peek but we knew she had it in her and if you’ve been paying attention at all, you might just have seen her win Grand Champion Female at the Iowa State Fair, as well as, Reserve Grand Champion at the Minnesota State Fair. This lady is made a lot like her with a huge foot, soft pastern, big hip with good length and extension. Give her some time and I think this Built Right x Neon combination could be Explosive!

It’s easy to write footnotes about really good cattle that stem from awesome cow families, and this lady is a prime example! Just as expected from Neon, Solar Flare has an attractive overall look with tremendous extension, broodiness, and a comfortable stride. It’s these traits that made her full sister, HS Neon Candy C18U, famous when she claimed Grand Champion Purebred Heifer and Reserve Champion Purebred Heifer honors at the 2016 Iowa and Minnesota State Fairs, respectively, for Jack McKinney and Foreman Cattle Co. after they purchased her from the 2015 Jewels of the Northland sale for $10,500. With much of the same quality, this phenomenal bred is poised for her own success in production. Feminine, well-place teats and a confirmed mating to Executive Order only enhance the possibilities of already proven genetics.

This 1/2 blood heifer is simply massive in her overall design and type. She is extremely long bodied, big topped and good ribbed. Stemming from the great Dana cow of Windy Ridges she goes back to the infamous JM BF H25 cow. Her dam, Star, has had her share of admirers here at our place but is probably one of the most under-utilized cows in our program. She’s produced her share of good ones and should have had a really nice Rancher bull in this sale if he hadn’t hurt himself earlier this summer. Though I’ve never had Hotcakes on a halter, I think she would have been pretty easy to break, she’s got a great disposition and loves a good scratch out in the pen now and then.

Oh my goodness does this girl have rib shape and dimension! It’s just crazy and she’s been like this since she was little. I kept saying I couldn’t wait to see her as a bred and well, here she is. She’ll be pushing snow this winter if she stays up North! Puppy dog tame with an awesome disposition, she was a perfect fit for our 9-year-old to show this past summer. She’s got a lot of performance with an easy keeping physique and looks to have a gorgeous udder developing underneath her. Backed by the likes of Miley Cottontail, Sweet Gem, and Sandeen Donna 7386, you can sure bet this one will be an awesome addition to any herd. Tons of cow power here!

This Gem x No Remorse mating has got to be one of the most consistent flushes we have ever produced. We’ve got a couple more sisters to these two at home and they are all peas in a pod. Good peas too, I think they would have made an awesome Denver pen. Maybe a little bit more moderate than our typical Gems, you really can’t poke a hole in them. Good ribbed, sound footed, nice hipped with great dispositions, Desire might just have a slight advantage in femininity and flashy looks while Deception has a little bit more power and overall dimension. You decide which one you like best or better yet maybe take them both, these sweet little percentage heifers are going to make some really awesome cows!

If your looking for a sweet disposition heifer that has already hung a banner, Dare 2 Impress is ready to hit the show circuit again. This cocky, rocket necked, huge ribbed super sound lady has what Judge Danny Harker said has “the WOW factor” when he used her to win the Foundation Simmentals at the 2016 MN Beef Expo. Its not often a calf can beat the big breds but Dare 2 Impress rocked her breed, then went on to be 5th Overall Breeds in Supreme Row out of 856 shown. We think this one has a tremendous future ahead of her not only in the show ring but as a killer donor cow. Although her sister has already captured the purple, don’t count out 1st Moment. Give this girl a shot in the show barn and she won’t disappoint. No Remorse hit it out of the park on their $19,000 mother, At 1st Sight! Great opportunity on two exciting percentage show heifers!

D911 is as flexible at the ground as any female in the sale, long bodied, nice fronted, possesses a sweet heart disposition. Cody and I made the trip to Illinois to the PVF Angus production sale to try and find some Angus genetics that could advance our SimAngus™ program. We fell in love with some of the PVF Insight progeny. Really functional, stout, good natured and eye appealing. Who better in the breed for producing SimAngus™ than Stop & Stare so we went home and flushed her that way soon after. 643D has cow written all over her. Soft, huge middled, tons of bone and easy keeping. She is the kind that we could use a pasture full of. Stop & Invision is great in her lines, elegant fronted, soft in her pastern and one that is sure to be a killer bred show heifer next fall. She is entered in Louisville. If you have the foresight to take these girls home in December, I’m confident I will be getting a phone call from a satisfied Jewel’s customer in the near future.

The calving ease maternal I-80 mated to the powerhouse Stop & Stare yielded some eye catchers. These May babies will certainly be fun to run in that younger division next summer and fall. Vacation Time has had our attention since we first saw her at the Johnsen ET coop herd at Wessington, SD at 2 weeks old. We will let you be the judge but we are very pleased with the results. We discussed taking the star faced 551C to Denver to sell her there as a bred but decided to keep her right at home and let you add her to your program on December 3rd. The reigning 2015 Reserve Div I Calf Champion in Louisville and Denver Pen bull is certainly one of the best purebred strong age bulls that is going to be available for sale this fall sale season. This mating of Uprising x Sheza Beauty has sure hit some home runs. Full sister, Jezebel B402, topped last years sale at $25000, another sister Fairy Tale B5 bought $25,000 for 1/2 interest to Boehland Cattle Co and is one of the donors you will be hearing a lot more about in the near future. A baldy full brother, HILB Givenchy B910, sold to Terry Oliver, OK for $12,500. Quantico tested homozygous black. He inherited the trademark flexibility that made the Sheza Beauty cow family famous. He has one of the most laid back personalities you will ever find in a bull but rest assured when a sexy female comes walking by he perks right up and takes notice. Take him home and turn him out for fall and spring breeding or throw him in the show barn and take him in the road. He is the kind that you can promote and sell semen. This guy is ready to leave his mark on the breed. Selling 2/3 semen interest and full possession.

This mating of Step Up and Sheza Beauty resulted in a pair of flexible at the ground, eye catching progeny that are phenotypically balanced as well as on paper. Stepping Out was a member of our Denver Pen bulls last winter and one of our favorite purebred bulls in the group since he was a young calf. Stout made, dining room table topped, loaded with muscle. Looking for a royally bred Simmental bull to use of purebred, percentage or Angus cows this guy will be up to the task. Beauty Step is moderate in her makeup and sweet fronted. Her maternal sister topped the bred heifer division of Jewels last year selling for $25,000. Sheza Beauty daughters are making great momma cows and this Step Up daughter is sure to crank out show cool show heifers for whom ever is the lucky buyer on sale day.

Style and Beauty is the result of a mating we went back and did again after impressive results the first time around. First, it produced one of our favorite percentage heifers in 2012. Snazzy sold that year for $17,000 and had many friends. Couple year’s later, two full brothers to this girl were in our 2015 Denver Champion Pen of 3 Bulls. Beautiful Dream sold in last year’s sale to VerPloeg’s and Klopfenstein’s from Iowa for $11,500. She has been working great for them and they are excited about fall babies they already have on the ground. This mating has been proven and it certainly worked again. Style and Beauty is sleek fronted, great haired and her neck comes out of her shoulder high, which leads to many SEXY poses from this beauty. This female is young and given the right care and a little time, she will be highly competitive at any level. When done having fun in the ring, she has the pedigree and EPDs that will yield a highly productive breeding piece.

Didn’t completely dawn on me till writing this footnote how cool a red heifer baby this one might be carrying. Probably should be keeping her around for that one. 47 Here is a neat pair of half blood sisters that makes it easy to see why SimAngus™ females have become so popular. Their dam, Carmella B410, is the first Victoria daughter that we have kept back to add to our donor program. We feel she has what it takes to follow in the path that Victoria has paved for our program. For years, I have followed the Angus breed and the tremendous progeny that First Class and Classen have produced. Those two Angus bulls have probably sired more champions and high sellers than any bulls in the Angus breed the past few years. And boy, did this mating work, D607 is a black star heifer and D636 is solid black. Both are sound structured, well balanced and neat fronted with great disposition. Claudia is going to be in our Louisville string and will definitely make some friends out there as both will sale day. We reserve the right to a future flush with a minimum of six (6) transferable embryos to be done at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience on D607.

This girl intrigues me; not only do I think she could make a pretty competitive run in that younger division being an April baby, but boy do I think she’s going to have some earning potential down the road. She doesn’t have that flashiness that’s going to come right out and grab you and because of it, she’s one that might get overlooked on sale day, but if you start taking a good hard look at her, and study her closely from the ground up, she’s just about flawless in her design. Sound footed, with good flex to her pastern, nice hipped with good shape to her rip and a sweetheart disposition. This is the one I’d really like to keep back for the kids to show next summer. Retaining the right to one flush with a minimum of 6 freezable embryos at the seller’s expense and buyer’s convenience.

This moderate made Stella is a real eye-catcher, sired by the Duration bull we sold through this sale to Rincker’s a couple of years ago, she combines the great cow families of Steel My Heart and Victoria into a beautiful package. She’s typical of our Stella’s being good in her lines, well balanced, soft made, good footed with some bone and substance and man, is she wooly haired. I think this one is pretty flexible in how you want to proceed with her. Use her to make cute hairy purebreds or slide her over to the club calf sector for producing some really cool 1/2 bloods.

Ivy is a beautiful black baldy with plenty of look, style and dimension to catch your attention. D643 is one of the tamest heifers we have ever worked with. I would recommend her to the youngest junior exhibitors. A four or five year old would have no problem showing this heifer, so if you are looking for a heifer with personality that will greet you at the gate every time to be petted, this is your heifer.

The Upgrade x Jewel mating is a proven one. I’ve sold two full brothers to C235 that have topped Gonsior’s sale at $26,000 and $10,500, both going to Brandes Brothers in Nebraska. A full sister also sold for $12,000. I’ve put in about 25 Jewel embryos over the years, and consistency has been impressive. C235 is a long bodied female that will be a very productive cow. If pedigree and predictability are important to you, don’t overlook this female. She is checked pregnant to New Direction, carrying an ultrasound bull.

HS Take A Look X30 Dam

W/C Executive Order 8543B, A.I. Sire Wide look comes from a truly special cow family. The infamous Black Glitter donor produced as many show ring champions, high sellers and donor daughters as any cow in the breed with a life time earnings of well over $250,000. BC Lookout has always been a knockout in making killer half looks and the set of flush sisters by Lookout and Glitter was no exception. X30’s full sister was shown successfully by Kiersten Jass with a career topping Res Overall win at the North American. Another sister is a cornerstone donor for Eichacker Simmentals in SD, producing females that are too cool to part with and herd bulls that flat out work. Take a chance on these rare genetics as not only her grand dam but now sire are both deceased. Bred up early for an Executive Order baby!

The Firefly donor has certainly made her mark on the breed by consistently pumping out stylish, high dollar females that make phenomenal cows. At the Breeders Sweepstakes this past summer, a Chamberlain X Firefly daughter proved this by being named Champion Purebred Cow/Calf Pair for Hudson Pines Farms. Another Firefly daughter HILB Butterfly B555, purchased for $42,000 by Hudson Pines and Pine Creek Cattle Co, has three big catalog pictured daughters in this year’s Living Legacy Sale. This cow family, especially being backed by Sandeens Upper Class, is proven and we think Lightning Bug is going to make a great breeding piece for her lucky owner.

If this female doesn’t have future donor written all over her, then I must not know anything. This is a breeding piece if I have ever seen one. It is hard to make one with this much body, mass and bone and still be this sound. This beautiful baldy has been shown a few times this summer and fall and has been undefeated in class and was Grand Champion at a jackpot show as a calf against several pretty good big heifers. The judge said every one needs a female like this in their herd. A full sibling, Beyonce B37, was one of the high selling opens at the 2014 Jewels sale for $13,000 to Macy Favorite, TN. D2 is going to make the trip to Louisville, be sure to check her out their or sale day. We reserve the right to a future flush with a minimum of six (6) transferable embryos to be done at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience. Owned with Boesl Farms.

Being that the ASA doesn’t calculate stayability EPDs on animals that stem from percentage cattle, she doesn’t have one, but her grandam, Pearl, has a stayability EPD in the top 3 % of the breed. A pair of Reba daughters that have that same stamp that she puts in all her progeny. Huge middled, sound and easy going. Four full siblings sold in last years sale for an $4,250 average. Reba had one of our top opens this year and she will be the highlight of our bred heifers next year. C530 is a massive middled Pays To Believe that will really work and is bred to Innocent Man. C535 we didn’t get a picture of but she is a black baldy female with a maternal look out of Turning Point, a bull that sires the right kind. C530 is bred to Innocent Man but we forgot to write down a breeding date, she should calve the middle of February to the middle of March.

Her full sibling that sold last year to Gabby Nemitz and Rockin H Simmental was shown this past spring and summer has done a great job for them. That’s just a tiny sampling of the huge amount of success that this cow family has had over the years. Charisma herself has a heart of gold and was shown this past summer by a 12-year-old with very little cow experience. To say she was a phenomenal confidence booster would be putting it mildly. The temperament on our Burn Baby Burns has been nothing short of puppy dog tame. They are all so sweet mannered and easy to work with. Bred to our homozygous polled and homozygous black herd sire, Executive Order, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that this first one is a beautiful little black baldy!

In just a short amount of time, the genetics that produced this blaze face heifer have already assembled a solid list of accomplishments. A maternal brother by SAV Brilliance sold for $5,500 in the 2015 Hook and Wulf Bred for Balance sale. More recently, a full sister in blood sold for $4,000 in the 2016 Minnesota Beef Expo sale. Add to this, a maternal sister by Executive Order stood first in a competitive March calf class at the 2016 Minnesota State Fair. This predictability is coupled with an equally complementary phenotype. In a moderate package, Quartz combines a stout hip and an easy moving stride with a level design. If her udder quality is anything like that of her dam, she should be a delightful sight out on pasture next summer with an Executive Order calf at side.

#revyourengine. It’s not every day you get the opportunity to purchase an aged herdsire with the shear mass and cool look of Power Trip. A stand out from day one, he is out of the insanely fertile Chanel donor who goes back to Antoinettes Joy. As a young donor, Chanel froze 41 good embryos on her first flush and continues to raise bulls that are always first to be purchased out of the bull pen. We strongly considered keeping Power Trip to use on our own cows this year but having Halls Confidence and Executive Order home, we are able to offer him to a lucky breeder. The fertility runs strong in this cow family as Power Trip semen checked extremely high at 96% and being he was on display in Denver, he is halter broke and ready to go to work on cows! Miss Werning KP 8543U, Dam

Praised by both seed stock and commercial breeders alike, Executive Order quickly made his way to being the hottest Simmental bull used this year. He was the high selling bull at $71,000 in the 2015 Werning Cattle Co bull sale and is probably the most versatile Simmental our breed has seen in some time. Hetero for color and homo polled, this United son has a whale of a set of number and is the natural calf of one of Wernings most profitable donor, 8543. This female certainly needs no introduction and consistently raises gorgeous heifer calves that flat out get it done in the show ring and make beautiful donors. Total outcross to Dream On! It didn’t take long for EO progeny to start catching the attention of Simmental Nation. These calves come small and are at the top of the scales at weaning time. Daughters and sons are already hanging banners and topping sales this fall...Bring your tanks on sale day! Semen Available $100/unit.

When we first found “Adam” in the Ohio Beef Expo catalog, not only were we phenotypically impressed but were blown away when we saw his numbers. We were pretty sure we hit the calving ease, heifer specialist jackpot! Adam ran behind a majority of our sale heifers along with our replacement heifers this spring before coming back in the barn in August to gear up for state fair. Although it was not our intentions to show him when we purchased him, he looked great coming off heifers and due to his super sweet disposition, he earned himself a trip to the great MN Get-Together. Judge Roger Allen was certainly impressed and Adam went on to win Supreme Bull of all breeds. He topped off his show carrier with a Res Overall Percentage Bull at the 2015 North American in Louisville. He has proven to be the calving ease sire we though and his calves are looking great! Semen Available $30/unit through us or Cattle Visions.

Welcome to the Northland! Raising the Bar!! The “Jewels” team has once again raised the bar on high quality cattle and has assembled an offering that is simply impressive. As you can see in this loaded up catalog, the stage has been set and they are ready for your appraisal.

It’s an extraordinary time to be in the world of production agriculture- both challenges and tremendous opportunity is here before us. Ownership of proven genetics will assure you success now and in the future. Take advantage of a sale offering like this and capitalize! There are stellar show heifer prospects, proven & future donors as well as herd sires ready to make an impact. The cow families run deep in this sale and the predictability bred into these cattle is not something you see at every sale. The cattle will work and look awesome doing it. Juniors- the AJSA National Classic will be in MS next summer and our neighbor of South Dakota will host the North Central Regional. This is the place to find your next champion. We just could not be happier for all of the Jewels customers that continue to gather the purple and this year proud of the genetics that are out there succeeding; evident by the large number of cow/calf winners. “Opening the gates” for you has always been a mission for this group of breeders and once again not only have they “opened the gates” with great cattle, but have “opened the tanks”. They are selling top embryos that are mates to the cattle in this sale and in their herds, many are IVF sexed embryos. What an opportunity to bring your tank and go home with breed leading genetics. The cattle will be available for viewing all day on Friday and the barn social will be at 5 pm. The warm sale facility provides a great atmosphere to catch up with fellow breeders and talk cattle. The sale cattle will be on display at 8 am on sale day and the complimentary lunch begins at 11 am. This is again a video sale and the offering will be presented on the big screens. You can walk outside to view them in person, then come inside and relax while checking out their videos. Those videos will also be available prior to the sale; we invite you to check them out on the sale page at ebersale.com . If you are unable to join us, live bidding and broadcast is again available from our friends at liveauctions.tv . The marketing team is a great resource to assist you in your purchases. Feel free to call Val, Kelly or any of the marketing representatives. We look forward to seeing you in Clara City, MN on December 3rd! Sincerely, Eberspacher Enterprises Inc.
