Welcome

to the 24th Anniversary of “The One” Simmental Sale! We are truly excited to present to you this 2017 Denver “The One” Sale offering. The breeders continue their dedication to this event by allowing us to share their finest genetics with you. The positive part of livestock breeders is that we are eternal optimists and roll with the flow of up and down markets and trends... bottom line is that high quality cattle have always and will always demand a premium. It is also a reality that the popularity of this breed did not happen overnight and many may not realize the dedication of breeders to make the needed change. We believe that the breeders that have made the trip to Denver have the right focus to continue to make this the breed of choice. As we approach the 24th “The One” Sale, it is obvious that this event does not happen without many people who rarely receive a thank you. For the past 24 years, we at EE Inc feel fortunate to have many talented people assist with the Denver events: The Colorado Simmental Association that are few but mighty, the entire NW staff and ASA/Register staff, EDJE Technologies, and everyone at liveauctions.tv for the marketing assistance and everyone that is part of Team EE on full time and part time basis! A big Mile High Magic thank you to the prominent breeders that are an integral part to this sale and our breed. The ASA Foundation and the AJSA youth continue to be a top priority for everyone at EE Inc. This year, we are honored to gather support for the AJSA Scholarships with a female right out of heart of the herd from a family that grew up through the AJSA program and raised their children to love the breed as well. Long time AJSA and Denver supporters Rob & Gina Long along with their children Tyler, Cody and Sammi are donating an own daughter of One Eyed Jack – we are excited to have this fall female debut under the bright lights of Denver! Thank you to the elite breeders that have contributed to the Foundation in the past, this sale has helped so many young Simmental breeders follow their dreams. Remember that all donations, great or small contribute to the ability of the ASA Foundation to do wonderful things. We invite you once again to Denver for all the Magical Moments in the Mile High City! Sincerely, Val & Lori Eberspacher and Kelly Schmidt Eberspacher Enterprises Inc.

Long’s Charity was selected for the purpose of the new owner to retain her for a lifetime. We hope our donation will be productive and an everlasting memory in your herd of our commitment to the Simmental breed. Charity is solid in genetic values and traces back to Triple C Invasion on the dam side. Peter Courtney would be proud to know that. We have been blessed to raise several noted AI sires and felt it was only fitting to offer a beautiful baldy sired by one of the hottest bulls of the breed that was bred on our farm, One Eyed Jack. Jame Secondino & American Livestock Ins. will provide 30 days insurance coverage on D12 for the new owner 812-208-0956.

Rob, Gina, Tyler, Cody & Sammi Long Rob 641 344 3028 • Gina 641 344 2867 3272 320th, Creston, IA 50801 www.longsimmental.com

It is with great pleasure and honor that Long’s Simmentals is offering the 2017 ASA Foundation Donation! Our cattle and farming operation is family owned, managed and operated. We pride ourselves very deeply in the fact we built our operation based on family values and we breed most all of our own Simmental genetics. Our kids pride themselves in exhibiting their own cattle. Thus our motto, “We are proud to promote cattle bred & raised on our farm”. I started with the Simmental breed 39 years ago with my first 4-H heifer. My wife Gina and her family even earlier than that. Both of our families have been in the cattle business all our lives. It’s the only thing we know. Many of you know, the Simmental breed is what brought Gina and I together. After dating through our Junior Simmental years and now 26 years of marriage later, we are still Simmental strong and blessed with three outstanding kids—Tyler, Cody & Sammi. Our Simmental roots are deep! I served as Iowa Jr President in 1989 when Iowa hosted its first AJSA National Classic. All of our family has served on the Iowa Jr or Sr Simmental boards. Gina’s dad, Harold has served as a past ASA National board member. We have been highly involved with coordinating two of the largest and most successful AJSA National Classics in breed history! Gina was a huge part of both events serving as co-coordinator and still serves as an Iowa Jr Advisor. Our kids have all been active AJSA members as were both Gina and I. If you have attend any Simmental event or National Classic since 2005 you have grown to know the “Long Kids”! Cody and Sammi were even referred to for many years as “professional big dogs”. They have served, competed, and succeeded in everything the breed has offered them. AJSA National Classics have proved to be a great learning event for all of them. Tyler has won Overall Jr Contestant, received Gold Merit and multiple Top 10 finishes. Cody has been 2nd Overall Jr Contestant, many Top 10’s and Bronze Merit. Sammi is racking up the wins in her young career achieving Top Overall Jr contestant at SC Regionals, many Top 10 finishes and is becoming a very accomplished showman. Besides our family, the Simmental and cattle business is our life. We have been blessed to share our journey and reap the benefits, rewards and relationships of the best people within the great breed of Simmental cattle. This TRULY is our family’s time to give back and say THANK YOU!!!

HS Neon Sky - Daughter Champion Female at WV State Fair Thomas Willis, WV

HS Neon Candy C18U – Daughter Champion Purebred Female Iowa State Fair Jack McKinney, IA FBF1 Glowing Image Daughter Many Time Champion Forest Brook Farms, WI

The first question we hear from everyone is “why are you selling Neon?” and to be completely honest with you, I don’t know why. But, if you were ever going to sell a donor, the time to do it would be when she’s hot and in the prime of her life and boy the fire is just getting started for this amazing gal. At the beginning of this year, Neon had less than 30 progeny registered to her and the list of accomplishments for that few progeny is pretty amazing. It includes the 2016 Iowa State Fair Open show Champion, HS Neon Candy, who was selected by the Foreman and McKinney families for $10,500 in the 2015 Jewels sale and also went on to be named the Reserve Champion purebred at the 2016 MN State Fair open show. HS Neon Cupcake, a multi-winner and Reserve Division Champion at the 2016 Junior Nationals for Abbie Redalen. FBF1 Absolute, a 2016 NWSS Division winner and 2015 World Beef Expo Supreme Champion bull, whom also claimed honors as the record setting highest selling animal in World Beef Expo history. He sold ½ possession and ½ semen interest for $20,500. The 2015, AR Reserve Champion Percentage Bull, HS Neon Flash shown by Logan Sigmon. The $10,500 HS Neon Splash, a multiple banner winner and Reserve Champion at the 2014 Iowa State Fair 4-H show for the DeCap family, the $7000 HS Neon Sky selected by the Willis family of WV, whom also claimed multiple banners including Grand Champion in both the 2014 West Virginia State Fair Open and Junior shows. The $20,000 valued Glowing Image a Denver division winner and 2013 World Beef Expo Reserve Champion Simmental. I can’t wait to see what her 2016 calves will do this next show season, which includes the $10,400 Neon Chill recently selected by Sunflower Ranch, TX in the 2016 Jewels sale. There really hasn’t been a bull mating that has disappointed us, she just seems to click with all of them. She’s got a gorgeous udder, a huge hip, massive middle, a beautiful soft pastern and awesome hair. A combination she seems to consistently pass on to her progeny. Due to a limited recip supply, we’ve pretty much gone to using IVF sexed heifer cycles on all of our donors, on the last 5 sexed-heifer cycles we did on Neon, she produced 9 freezable embryos per cycle. Being an outcross to nearly every bull out there and just hitting the prime of her life this is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities! And just when you’d think an opportunity couldn’t get any better, it’s the cherry on top that she’s bred up early to what just might be the hottest bull in the breed right now, Executive Order!

C568, $8000 Priceless daughter by Upgrade

We probably should have waited to offer Priceless based on the exceptional fall calves – 4 Sure Bets and 2 Lock N Loads, another Lock N Load and a Broker due this spring. Three first calf heifers we await, due this spring. So the question would arise, why sell her when she is just hitting her stride? We have a tradition of bringing ELITE cattle to Denver. Maybe you remember the two Blackstar x Built Rites that sold for $40,000 each and a young Priceless for $7500 or a Dominance x 54S that Effling purchased and has more than doubled his money on. A High Regard that sold out of the stall for $25,000 and won her class and Division the next day, ect. ect. ect. Priceless flushes in exponential form and responds well in IVF. Her last flush gave us 19 sexed Top Grade embryos, which adds to the 80 plus in storage. Her embryos when we have sold them have brought $1100 plus. Her show career is highlighted by Grand Champion Female at the Keystone International, Reserve Bred and Owned at the Junior Nationals, Division Champion at the National Western and Reserve Champion Ohio State Fair. I believe we could clip Priceless up and show her tomorrow as she looks that good and her disposition is second to none. Her daughters have also joined her on the Tanbark winning Classes and Divisions with so few able to show yet! Her dam, SS U-MISTI M706, well there is not enough space for her accomplishments. This is a huge opportunity as we will be campaigning her progeny for some time. Lazy H Priceless sells in her entirety open and ready to flush. We will get you started with 3 IVF sexed embryos of your choice…Top Grade, Sure Bet or Lock N Load. NWSS

The opportunity to purchase a full sib to STF Onyx does not come along every day. We purchased Emerald out of the 2010 Field of Dreams Sale. I think it’s safe to say she was one of the diamonds in the rough that day. The following year, she was named Supreme Champion at the WI State Fair by Judge Barry Wesner. She has gone on to be a great donor for us, producing several offspring that have sold in the $6,000-$8,000 range – while averaging about 6 embryos per flush. As you can see by her picture, Emerald possesses many of the same attributes as Onyx. She is an absolute tank of a female! She has transmitted this quality very consistently to her offspring, having loads of capacity and shape while still moving out with ease on a flexible skeleton and a very well constructed foot and leg pattern. As an added bonus, she is due to calve to FBF1 Ignition in February.

Bella captured the hearts of many in Denver last year when she commanded Champion Percentage Female in the open show on the Hill, and there isn’t a better place to offer a flush on this bombshell then under the bright lights of Denver. Living up to her namesake which translates as “beautiful,” Hook’s Bella B72 is a remarkable young cow. Her overall quality is unsurpassed with a rare combination of stellar good looks, a unique pedigree, and phenomenal performance tabulations. After being the high selling open in the 2015 Bred for Balance sale, Bella was quick to hang banners with the highlight being named Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Female at the 2016 Denver National Western, but she was also the Supreme Open Class Female at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair, Third Overall Breeding Heifer at the 2015 Minnesota Beef Expo, Fifth Overall Breeding Heifer at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair 4-H Show, and Fifth Overall Percentage Female at the 2015 North Central Simmental Regional Classic. Bella quickly entered embryo production after doing a great job raising a stout heifer calf, and there could not be more anticipation ahead for her first crop of embryo calves. Her most recent flush yielded 31 #1 embryos. This young donor is pretty special, and it is exciting to offer this opportunity to tap into her genetic potential. One conventional flush to the bull of the buyer’s choice is selling with a guarantee of 6 transferable embryos and splitting any additional embryos after 12 with the seller. The buyer is responsible for the costs of the semen, flush, transfers, and freezing. Bella is open and ready to flush right after Denver. With her versatility, there are so many mating options, and this opportunity could propel any program to a new level of success.

Let me start my footnotes off by introducing you to B8C dam, LTS Stiletto. We first flushed Stiletto to Upgrade and produced LTS Revealed, the Denver calf champion in 2015. That same year 3 flush mate sister also won their class in the pen show. The lead off heifer LTS Taken brought $12,000 through the Buckle and Banners sale going to Sweeting/Yeggy Farms. Taken went on to win her class at the Iowa State Fair Open Show. The following year is when we chose to flush Stiletto to Renegade, that flush produced five baldy heifers including the lead off heifer at the Buckles and Banners sale going to Tom Anderson from Moscow Mills, Missouri for $18,000. We feel very confident that B8C will be able to follow in her sisters foot steps and bring the same success to her new owner that her sisters have done for theirs. As you can tell B8C is huge middled and balances up nicely. B8C is bred to the calving ease bull Innocent Man as this mating could be a home run for her new owners. Angel is moderate framed like her dam, Angelica, a daughter of LLSF Cayenne, a National Champion and one of the great donors of the Simmental breed. We absolutely love our Angelica calves and we’re sure you will too. LLSF Eye Candy, a full sister to Angelica, commanded $40,000 in Dwyer’s Foundation Female Sale and her first bull calf, LLSF Addiction, is an AI sire for Cattle Visions. Angel follows in her mother’s design being smooth, bold sprung, wide pinned and easy fleshing. From her long flat neck that sits high on her shoulders, to her tail head that fits nicely into her big top, we believe this phenotype will be a cash generator as a donor for generations. With her desirable EPDs mated to Lock Down, her resulting calf could be the next great one with incredibly good numbers. • A.I. It was never our intentions to offer this bull for sale. Ever since this young stud hit the ground, we have planned on keeping him and making him our red herd bull. But after some long discussions we have to offer him up in “The One” Sale. Kick Start puts it all together, he is stout made, big topped, big footed son of Prime Beef that is heavy muscled, moderate framed, and is strong, level topped. He ranks in the top 25% of the breed for BW and WW, top 20% for TI and top 15% for CE and API. He is backed by one of best producing cows, she is the definition of a high profitability cow, she has not only always raised a good one, but they are consistently high sellers in our female and bull sales. With that kind of production, she made her way into our donor pen this past year. Put that together with a cool baldy head and you have yourself a herd bull in the making. This mating has been proven over and over again, to name one HILB Olympus selling for $25,500. This bull is stout made, clean fronted, big bodied and sound as a cat. Bid early and often and don’t let him get away from you. Retaining 1/3 semen interest.

When we decided we wanted to put a heifer in “The One” Sale in Denver, we knew she had to be both “special“ and “unique”. Special in the fact that Joy’s Secret had to check all the phenotype boxes. Good bone, sound and free moving, deep and soggy, great haired, puppy dog gentile and just a beautiful profile. Yep, that’s pretty much in a nutshell what you need for a show heifer. Now for the “unique”. Joy’s Secret is unique in her genetic construction. Her mother is a direct daughter of one of the matriarchs of the Simmental breed, SOSF Ebonys Joy L-123. In fact, the grandsire on the top side traces back to Ebonys Joy L123 too. See how many you can track down that have that blood on both sides. And if you need to see how important Ebonys Joy L123 is, just check and see how many offspring she has registered. Throw in Remington Secret Weapon and Lutton and pretty soon you realize this heifer is a rarity in genetic makeup. Not a drop of Dream On blood in her veins, so the mating possibilities are endless and unique!

She stems from one of the most productive cow families in the breed. 44D’s dam, Halley, was a many time champion at Kaehlers, including Supreme Champion at the Minnesota State Fair. We purchased 1/2 interest in Sweet Rain in 2014 at Dwyer’s for a price tag of $20,000. There are several top producing Halley offspring, both bulls and females, doing great things in top herds across the country. Who would think you could show a 175 API heifer and be in the hunt? You can with Dolly’s Queen. She is Homozygous Polled, Homozygous Black and tested free of defects. Check out her full brother who sells as Lot 28 for further proof to her genetic security for the future. Their dam is a full sibling to ABS calving ease bull GW Paramount. Phenotypically, she is as big bodied and loose made as they come. She is easy feeding and sound walking. Genetically, her numbers read great, plus her dam is the proven pick of the Gateway herd that we purchased for $21,000 in this sale in 2012. Her maternal sister brought $20,000 to Blume and O’Keefe last year and another sister was a high selling open going to Wentland in OR. We thought what better way to come back to “The One” Sale? Then with not one but two full sisters to the crowd favorite Schooley Zepher 507C who was successfully campaigned by the Dodge family in 2016. We wanted to bring out our best but we couldn’t decide which heifer we liked better. So, we are letting you choose! The baldy 631D has already been hanging banners being named Res. % Calf at Iowa State Fair. Zara exhibits that picture-perfect balance being super deep sided and soft structured. A female that will no doubt make a great show heifer for the youngest junior. This will be 657D first outing as she came off a cow at a cooperator herd a touch younger. Zeva has a big, square hip that exhibits the extra power and mass P2B stamps into all his progeny. Not to mention, her substance of foot and bone with near perfect set and flex. As we are taking one home, we are giving the new owners of the heifer of their choosing to own her in her entirety. Selling choice. Haven reserves the right to show both heifers in the junior show.

We are super excited to bring this heifer calf to Denver for your evaluation. We took a string of flush mate full sibs to Louisville a couple weeks ago and we were blown away with breeders response to them as a whole. While at Louisville, we showed IVS/JJ/B&K STEP OUT 17D where he captured Reserve Calf Champion his first time out and was purchased privately by our friends at Hudson Pines Farm in NY. We also took a full sister to 112D and she created quite a stir and was purchased privately by our good friend Bill Sloup at Sloup Simmentals. We also sold a maternal sister by One Eyed Jack that was one of the high sellers. This set of calves won Produce of Dam and Get of Sire at the North American and we all know just how competitive it is at the NAILE. Two Love 112D’s dam is a full sister to HPF Quantium Leap and Lover Boy, both Denver Champion Bulls and out of the famous RGRS SRG Two Step and we know his semen is getting harder and harder to get your hands on. 112D is great fronted, big middled, really good on the move, has that stop and stare look and is a beautiful black show heifer/donor prospect with a little white on her head. We feel this female is big time and can compete at any level in the show ring and become a great donor female for any operation. Be sure to check out her flush mate brother that sells as Lot 32. We are retaining 1 successful flush with a minimum of 6 transferable embryos at the sellers expense and buyer’s convenience within 24 months. 272D has a little chrome and a lot of quality! She has three great females lined up on the bottom side and a maternal legend on the top side! Shawnee Ms 770P, WW Miss Pep Pays, Miss Pep 27T, 58H and SAC Tailor 47C – all the predictability that can be stacked in a pedigree. 272D is great fronted, really big middled, and sound structured as can be! Head her straight from the backdrop to the donor pen!

With a striking resemblance to the 2016 Denver National Western Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Female, this full sister is a masterful blend of award winning phenotype, fresh pedigree, and progressive genetic predictors. Poised for her own greatness, Hook’s/ JRA Danica 612D has already started her success story by being named Foundation Simmental Calf Champion in the FFA Show at the Minnesota State Fair. Her style, stoutness, and sound structure combine to make her an elite prospect. Even though she has to look to be competitive, her value far exceeds that of the show ring. With future mating flexibility and top tier growth figures, she has utility as a great breeding piece. A terrific combination of physical and genotypic traits has her equipped to impart a positive, long-lasting impact on the program of her new owner. Full sister to Lot 4.

622D is a heifer that grows on you every time you study her. She is extremely deep sided with plenty of shape and expression to her rib cage while being sleek necked and good on the ground. Her dam was the many time champion including a former Reserve Calf Champion at the American Royal and Reserve Champion at the Oklahoma Youth Expo before becoming a top donor in the Nail Ranch and Emberson Show Cattle herds.

With this female and her pedigree, it’s hard to know where to start and where to stop in one footnote. 6112D is a full sister to our $40K sale highlight that sold in The One last year to Gensini Cattle Company. Her dam is closing in on $3 million in direct progeny sales. Her full brothers include W/C Bullseye ($160K), W/C Bullet Proof ($55K), and W/C Red Answer ($30K). Her full sisters have sold for $70K (2014 National Champ), $50K, $48K, and $46K. Her maternal brother, W/C Executive Order is red hot as he and W/C Bullseye sired numerous calf champions at the NAILE & American Royal. Buy her, show her, flush her, and sit back and enjoy the rewards for years to come. This is one to build around!

D636 is a prime example of why we consider “Gloria” a member of our family. To find a purebred with the look, the body, the squareness, the balance, and the overall elegance she possesses is a unique feat in itself. She is out of the popular 2014 sale topper Wernings W/C Bullseye 3046A. The homework is already complete. She is stout. She is sound. And she’s really good lookin’. Here is an opportunity to tie in to one of the most prolific cow families in the business. This Hope Floats daughter already has two sisters that have proven their value at our first annual Pave The Way production sale averaging $23,500. D150 is the younger combination of her two sisters. She is massive through her center yet refined in her front third. Females made like this will keep you in the seedstock business for years to come. The Hope legacy will continue to create chapters with females of this consistent quality. Her sire, TNGL Upper Hand, sold through “The One” Sale as a calf going to our good friends and partners Gable Cattle Co. What a first calf crop he has produced and we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds with him. Predictability on both sides of the pedigree with an open door on mating opportunities – tie in to a sure thing.

The beginning of the Heiress 203Z dynasty is upon us and as they say “the proof is in the pudding!” In 203Z’s first calf crop she has already delivered a $55,000 maternal sister to this little lady on the recent Divas and Donors Elite Sale and here and now is her sister’s time to shine! Heiress 816D is ready to rock the tan bark with the best of them. Elegantly designed with perfect feet and legs and lots of dimension. She may be young but she packs plenty of power and presence. The consistency of the Heiress 203Z family commands respect right out of the gate with progeny out of 3 different sires and all shooting straight to the top in quality. Heiress 816D promises to walk in her mother’s footsteps, both in the show ring and in production. This May born striking baldy will be a fun ride for years to come. She’s worth the trip folks!

Each year, the breeders of the Champion or Reserve Pen of 3 Heifers & the Champion or Reserve Pen of 3 or 5 Bulls have the option to sell a choice of the pen in “The One” Sale. Buyers have the choice to select their favorite from these exceptional females and bulls, purebred or percentage. NWSS
