Summarize your career path. I’ve always wanted to work in the healthcare field and became interested in chiropractic during college. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology in 2015 from the University of North Dakota. I then earned my Doctor of Chiropractic in 2018 from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. I moved back to my hometown of Alexandria after grad school and joined Dr. Dolezal of Central Lakes Chiropractic Clinic. I’ve been at CLCC for two years now and enjoy focusing on pediatrics, extremity work, and family practice care. Community and volunteer efforts. • Alexandria JO volleyball coach (3 seasons) • Alexandria Area Young Professionals member • Alexandria Area Chamber of Commerce member • Alexandria Area High School Freshman Academy Network (FAN) coach, which involves mentoring freshmen as they transition to high school
Derek is always working to better himself so that he can give more to his patients, volleyball girls, friends, and family. He is encouraging, patient, and an excellent listener, often offering words of praise to others while also being able to listen carefully to a patient’s concerns to best treat them.
Breanna Helland, Fiance Family and interests. I am engaged to Breanna Helland of McCarten Law Firm and we have a French Bulldog named Pippa. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching volleyball and tennis, spending time on the lakes, traveling and trying new restaurants. Leadership philosophy. I choose to lead by optimism, believing everyone has their place where they excel and shine with their full potential! I also believe that leading through service and education is a great way to connect with others. As a volleyball coach, I not only want to be a leader for the athletes on the court but in the community as well.
