Remodel and addition make lakeside dream home a reality

adam and Tasha Suelflow’s home is a three-level remodel on Little Sauk Lake with many custom features. The new masonry and driveway were finished by homeowner Tasha Suelflow’s father’s business, Scott Polipnick Masonry.

By kerry drager Correspondent Minnesota offers the unique opportunity for affordable lakeside living. That was something Sauk Centre couple Tasha and Adam Suelflow always dreamed of, but with two children still living at home, there was also need for more space.

“We had been living in town, and we wanted something on the lake,” said Tasha Suelflow.

“We looked at probably 20 lake homes, but they were all one acre lots.”

Finally, their search turned up a single family home with 15 acres of woods nestled along Little Sauk Lake. The home was not exactly what the family wanted, but it came with the land they were searching for.

“We wanted more square footage, and the whole style was not necessarily what we were look-

ing for,” said Suelflow.

By November of that year, they had already begun digging the new foundation for the addition.

The new addition sports three floors, each roughly 1250 square feet. An additional 700 square foot bonus area is above the top level that is now being used as a large closet for the master bedroom. The master bedroom’s full-size laundry room is adjacent to the closet.

The master bedroom, master living room and master bath take up the topmost floor of the addition.

The kitchen was made larger and extends from its original location to the addition’s ground level. The main level of the addition also houses their daughter’s bedroom, a bathroom and hookups for a washer and dryer.
