That Being design for the cultural sector and design for the music sector with a focus on typography, editorial design and concept driven work with experimental outcomes.

Practical Skills / Workshops – what, why and when? Coding: Trying a new approach to design work, trying to create imagery using alternative relevant methods to the codebreaker exhibition. Learning and experimenting with coding and processing to create visuals. Software knowledge: Pushing the boundaries of the design software which I already know to try to produce some interesting, unique visuals. Learning new tool and plug-ins for software may take some time also learning how to use, write scripts and scriptographer. Screen Printing: Improving my knowledge of screen print to prepare me for work outside of uni, also to utilize the equipment we have available within university before leaving. Screen print skills need vast improvement so some reinductions/test prints may have to be done during the course of the module. Print Finishes/experimentation: Experiments with the print resources, pushing the boundaries of printing, conducted throughout the module to try to produce some interesting visual and outcomes. Business models: Looking into a few of the basics behind setting up small businesses periodically aswell and cost predictions and plans for setting up our own night in leeds. Need to improve presentational skills and communication skills for pitching ideas to the Garage night club and contacting artists.

Specialising in typographic-led design for branding, print and digital media, the studio works with a variety of clients in the commercial and cultural sector. Our work includes design for branding, content managed websites, books, catalogues, brochures, posters, leaflets, signage and packaging. In addition to client-based work, the studio initiates and produces independent curatorial and publishing projects which focus on typography and graphic design.
