President’s Message On Behalf of the Arkansas State Trapshoo ng Federa on Board of Directors, we would like to invite you to the 2014 Arkansas State Shoot. The Board has been working long and hard to make this one of the best State Shoots in the country. We have been very blessed to have a board of directors that has so much passion and desire to promote our sport. It takes a team effort all pulling together and focused on a common goal. We are also so very fortunate to have Eddy Kinslow. Once again Eddy has spent countless hours working on this beau ful program. Eddy’s contribu ons does not stop there, it goes much deeper. Eddy has volunteered his me in providing, designing, and maintaining the Arkansas State Trapshoo ng Federa on website. One of these, alone, is not an easy task, much less taking on the challenges of two projects of this magnitude. Both are superbly done and are something that we should all be proud of. We are very thankful to our many sponsors for their contribu ons and dona ons (There is a list in the front of the program book). These dona ons along with the Board of Directors decisions have allowed us to grow our balance sheet while at the same me increase the amount that we are able to return back to the shooters in the form of added money, trophies, and prizes. In 2010 the ASTF gave away $2,500 in added money in our three championship events. This year the added money for those same three championship events has increased to $10,000. I don’t think there is a State Shoot our size in the country that returns as much added money back to the shooters as we do. We are now giving away more trophies than ever before. This year we will be awarding our shooters with over $26,500 in trophies, added money, and prizes. I would like to, also, thank Remington Arms for partnering with us in the use of their facili es. Remington has been very suppor ve of our State Shoot by dona ng and sponsoring Friday’s Remington Handicap. This year’s other event sponsors Alliant Powder, Cabela’s, and the Bella Vista Sportsman Club have supported us with some very handsome dona ons and for that we are very thankful. The con nuing success of the Arkansas Youth Sports Shoo ng Program gives us great support and promise for the future as every year new gun clubs are coming on line. Every year more targets are being thrown which helps increase our shooter base. Arkansas’ AIM Program is thriving as well as each year we have more of our youth shooters shoo ng ATA targets. Our youth shooters are the future of trapshoo ng and we have the best in the na on. Trapshoo ng is alive and well in the great state of Arkansas and it is a great me to be part of it. Come join us at this year’s 2014 Arkansas State Shoot. We would love to see you there. Alan (Chuck) Sharp President ASTF

THANK YOU REMINGTON! AR now has many fine shooting facilities, however, this was not always the case - believe it or not, from 1958 to 1962, we were not able to hold even one State Shoot! In 1979, The Remington Gun Club expanded its original purpose and offered to host our State & SW Zone shoots, giving a real lift to trapshooting in AR. In addition to the workload needed to host major shoots, for the past 35 years, Remington also purchased 51 full-page program book ads, muchneeded funds, especially during a few lean years. Also, starting in 1995, Remington began sponsoring an entire State Shoot event, the Remington Handicap. During the past 19 years, Remington has given away 24 rifles, 38 shotguns, and 317 flats of ammo to winners in the Remington Handicap. Put a price tag on all of that - tremendous benefits to both shooters and the ASTF! Financial reports given to shooters in the past by David Morris & Henry Carroll - detailed accounting spreadsheets - show that from 1980-2011, Remington reimbursed the ASTF a total of $220,075 in State Shoot target fees & $24,649 in other registered shoot fees - very huge financial boosts to trapshooting in Arkansas. Lastly, Remington has expanded & upgraded their facilities several times, for no other reason except to better accommodate our State & Southwest Zone Shoots. Like we started out saying above: THANK YOU REMINGTON!
