Katyana Kozikowska, Eden Court CREATIVE Manager “As the Ambassador for Eden Court CREATIVE, I am hugely proud to be part of something that provides so many great opportunities for studying theatre, dance and film-making in the Highlands. I did a lot of my initial training at Eden Court, including my Higher Drama and my LAMDA (London Academy of Dramatic Arts) certification. The tutors were always there to support me. I had my first real experience of acting via Eden Court CREATIVE and it was their knowledge and experience that encouraged me to take the next step and pursue a career in the arts. Eden Court CREATIVE is a great resource for everyone in the Highlands both young and old. If you haven’t tried it yet, start participating and get Creative–you never know where it might lead.” EDEN COURT CREATIVE’S AMBASSADOR AND FORMER STUDENT, KAREN GILLAN

meet the ambassadors A NETWORK FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE HIGHLANDS TO SHAPE, SHARE AND SHOWCASE THE ARTS
Maeva Donaldson EDEN COURT CREATIVE AMBASSADOR FOR THURSO HIGH SCHOOL Why did you want to become an Ambassador? I really wanted to become an ambassador because I have always loved the arts and having the opportunity to meet other people who also love the arts, as well as working with Eden Court, appealed to me. What do you enjoy about working with Eden Court CREATIVE? I really enjoy being a part of the team and working with the fellow ambassadors. The opportunities that arise with being an ambassador are also great fun, like going to see some amazing shows and helping with Eden Court events. What kind of challenges have you experienced as an Ambassador? The main challenge I have experienced in my two years as an Ambassador is definitely getting people to be aware of the notice board. I now feel that schools are more open to the arts so this is becoming less of a challenge. What has been your favourite moment as an Ambassador? Without a doubt my favourite moment was meeting all of the other Ambassadors and the CREATIVE team. Everyone is really nice and I'm really proud to be a part of it all. What other opportunities does Eden Court offer you? As well as the chance to see some truly amazing shows, Eden Court provides classes and workshops to improve skills. Eden Court also hosts some fantastic events and festivals that are great fun to be a part of. There is always something to do or see so you can never be bored.
meet the CREATIVE team Louise Marshall DANCE ARTIST FOR EDEN COURT What do you like most about your job? Basically I love the fact that I get paid to dance, to teach, to meet loads of people and to enjoy myself–most of the time! I love the variety: One day I’m bouncing round the studio with Bunny Beats, the next day I’m in a school then that evening I’m doing Ballet or Jazz or Contemporary class. And in between I’m planning and organising events like our Ragtime Picnic or The Big Dance Show. Who else has a job where they are paid to Charleston outside Cawdor Castle? Plus we have a fantastic, fun team. What’s the most difficult thing about your job? It is pretty relentless. You just finish one event and you’re on to planning the next one. But I guess it’s the adrenalin that keeps me going. And the fact that it’s never boring. What events are you looking forward to? I’m really looking forward to Spring Into Eden on 21st & 22nd March 2015. This is our annual showcase of all our dance classes and groups performing in the OneTouch Theatre. Even though we’ve been doing this for six years now it’s always great to see our participants raise their game and bring their energy and hard work to the stage. And it’s usually sold out! I’m also looking forward to working with Eden Court Young Dance Company 2015–a group of committed and talented young dancers who I can really push and develop. They will be performing in a national showcase at the MacRobert Centre in Stirling on Saturday 21 February.
