Whether you want to practice your plié, scribe a story, or sing your socks off, we’ve something for everyone and there’s never been a better time to join in. Inspired by all the fantastic imaginations and characters in the Integrated Performance Group and in homage to Roald Dahl: Willy Wonders Splendid Hotel takes its audience on a journey through a hotel full of magic, mystery and wonder. Three Gaelic performing groups from across the highlands will work towards devising new works in Gaelic performance and production technique with the support of 2 creative professionals. Each of the 3 groups will perform once at their home centre before transferring to Eden Court Theatre for a final performance as part of the ‘TÒG: An Lab‘ showcase. This family friendly hand drumming class, led by tutor Carol Scorer is meant for all ages and abilities - whether you have experience or have never touched a drum before. These facilitated sessions will explore community music making, through hand drums and percussion and expressive rhythm. The first hour will be fun and freestyle for all ages; the second hour will be more structured and include complex rhythmns. Students from the LAMDA Musical Theatre class will perform excerpts from the exam syllabus along with added musical theatre numbers to bring you an entertaining hour of song and dance. This year they will be collaborating with Youth Jazz Dance class to bring you a triple threat musical theatre experience. The evening will finish with a presentation of grading certificates and medals.

Following the success of The Wizard of Oz and Hairspray JR, Eden Court Musical Theatre urge you to be careful for what you wish for as Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this special adaption. The baker and his wife wish to have a child; Cinderella wishes to attend the King’s Festival; Jack wishes his cow would give him some milk! After learning their wish can’t come true due to a witches curse, the baker and his wife set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.

The Eden Court Collective is an auditioned youth theatre featuring up and coming talent from across the Highlands, directed by our own Drama Artist Amy Watt. The group have been working on a devised piece ahead of the National Theatre of Scotland Exchange festival in July. Explore your interests in the wonderful world of CREATIVE with our experienced practitioners. This term we’ll be offering three two-hour workshops on a range of subject matter.
ADVENTURE FILMMAKING SUN 06 MAY
Join CREATIVE’s own documentary filmmaker Mike Webster for this two hour workshop looking at how best to film your own adventure. Drawing from experience, stories, mistakes and footage and from filming in Scottish mountainous enviroments, including gorges, edges of sea cliffs, foreign jungles and just difficult-to-find places. Mike will touch upon storytelling, tips on equipment, the festival circuit and where he believes your focus should be (pun intended!) with plenty time to pick his brains over a cuppa. Suitable for filmmakers and non-filmmakers alike, all you need is a thirst for adventure!
CHEKHOV SUN 20 MAY
A fantastic opportunity to delve into the techniques of Michael Chekhov let by CREATIVE In Your Area worker Andrew Simpkins. The session will look at Chekhov’s acting techniques, including character building, improvisation and the development of your imagination. These techniques are perfect to improve your acting skills and can make you stand out of the crowd at auditions.
STANISLAVSKI SUN 03 JUN
Konstantin Stanislavski was a father of naturalism, but is complete realism in theatre possible? Come and experience Stanislavski’s techniques and develop your character building skills, using emotion in performance and creating truth on stage. This is a must for anybody who is thinking about becoming a performer.

Birthlight Baby Yoga classes enhance playful interaction and communication between parent and baby and promote babies' healthy development. Baby Yoga expands the benefits of touch by using fun movements, sound/voice and rhythms interactively. The classes promote joint parent and baby relaxation using different techniques including music and awareness of breathing. Simple post-natal yoga is included so please wear something comfortable. Eden Court, in partnership with Highland Council, continues to offer young people from throughout the Highlands the opportunity to study for SQA qualifications in Drama and Dance. We are now taking applications for the 2018/19 academic year for: • National 5 Drama • Higher Drama • Higher Dance
There may be places remaining after the first round of auditions so, if you miss this deadline and are interested, it is still worth getting in touch with us. We can also accept applications from mature students and students who are studying outside of the Highland area, although there will be a course fee for these applicants.
The courses require significant independent study and are taught at Eden Court out-with school hours, at weekends, in-service days and throughout the school holidays. Assistance with travel and accommodation expenses is available for those students travelling from outside Inverness to attend the course.

LAMDA ONLY OPEN TO EXISTING STUDENTS THIS TERM The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the UK and former LAMDA students occupy the worlds of theatre, film and TV right across the globe. The examinations themselves offer candidates the chance to meet and make contact with expert examiners, build self-confidence and self-esteem and acquire certification for career development.
THE LAMDA YEAR EXPLAINED Term 1: Aug –Nov 2018 Course Content: Introduction to LAMDA, Drama/Musical Theatre skills and Exam preparation. Term 2: Jan – Mar 2019 Course Content: Performance skills and continuation of Exam preparation. Term 3: Apr – Jun 2019 Term 3 is performance time! It’s a chance to put new found drama skills to the test by working on a performance for family and friends at Eden Court. Your LAMDA year comes to an end with a presentation of your exam certificate.

tickets & info Our Box Office is located in the theatre foyer and is open MONDAY to SATURDAY from 10.00 and on SUNDAYS from 11.00. The Box Office closes 15 minutes after the beginning of each day’s final performance. You can book your tickets in person, by phone, or online at www.eden-court.co.uk To make it easier to book, we have given each class or event a number. Make sure you book the ticket you want for the class you want by giving our staff the number when booking.
Friends discount If you become an Eden Court Friend then you’ll receive a discount off regular classes (£1 for adults and 50p for under 18s). For further information ask a member of the Box Office staff.
Student discount If you’re currently a student at university or college you’ll receive a £1 discount off all our adult classes. For further information ask a member of the Box Office staff.
Bursary Scheme We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get creative! Eden Court’s bursary scheme helps people on low incomes attend classes for half price (or try a one-off event for free). To qualify you must be in receipt of any of the following benefits: Job Seekers Allowance (income based), Income Support, Universal Credit, Disability Allowance, or Attendance Allowance. If your evidence is dated indefinitely or covers more than one term you will only need to apply once a year. Please contact Box Office on 01463 234 234 for a bursary form or download one from the BROCHURES section of our website. Please note that Bursary Applications must be received at least ONE WEEK BEFORE THE START OF TERM.
Registration For the first week of the term, please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for the tutor to make a note of all the attendees’ names and contact details.
Important information for under 18s All under 18s attending classes will require a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian. Parents must attend the start of the first session in order to sign the form.
Reservations Reservations can be made in person or over the phone for any Eden Court class. Reserved spaces will be held for three working days, after which time they will be released for sale. Please note that we do NOT accept reservations for events less than seven working days away.
Refunds and exchanges If you try the first class of a course and find it unsuitable, please contact Box Office immediately. We will try to transfer you to a different class (subject to availability) or offer you a credit voucher for the remaining classes. Please note refunds are not given for missed classes and will only be issued if a class has been cancelled by Eden Court.
Changes & cancellations All details are correct at the time of going to print. Eden Court reserves the right to make changes to the advertised programme, but will endeavour to make as few as possible.
Term times Most classes run for one eleven week term from MON 23 APR – FRI 22 JUN. Please make sure you read the class dates carefully as these may vary.

Many courses are designed to be attended as a block. With some you must sign up in week one, but with others you can start later. Just look for the ‘Block Booking’ logo and give box office a call for more information. You’ll save £1 on every class if you Block Book, AND guarantee your place on the course. Advance booking is essential for most classes and helps to avoid disappointment, as many courses fill up quickly. When you see the ‘Drop In’ logo you can pick and choose which classes you want to go to. You don’t have to commit to a term all at once – perfect if you just want to give something a try.
NB: Drop In classes can only be booked on the day, and are subject to availability. Remember to arrive in plenty of time as spaces fill up quickly.
Additional Support Needs Please note that parents/guardians must give details of any additional support/learning assistance your child may receive in school to the class tutor. Participants with additional support needs will need to attend classes with a support worker.
