On your journey, you’ll need help from the right people. Our team of over 100 professional teachers and support staff have the best national and international experience with years of expertise and connections to industry. Our team has the time, knowledge and patience to answer your questions or provide you with academic assistance or practical advice on matters like visas and the cost of living in New Zealand. And we’re not just good at our jobs. We’re people too, and we love making new friends.
IMRPOVE IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH Our highly qualified and experienced teachers will support and encourage you so that by the end of your studies you’ll see a real difference in the quality of your English communication. English language classes are a great way to help you settle in to life in New Zealand. We provide you with the key skills to build your confidence as an effective English communicator. Through our classes we want to inspire you with a fascination about the English language, engage and involve you in activities that get you closer to your goal of fluency, and ultimately lead you to being a more self-directed and independent learner. Our teachers are highly experienced in the field that they teach, with many having achieved the internationally-recognised and highly sought after Diploma in TESOL. They are dedicated to helping students reach their goals.
General English Whether you’re here for a short time or you need to improve your English skills to find a job, a General English class will help you achieve your goals. Before you start your class you’ll be given a short placement test to determine your English ability level. Once you have this result you will be placed in the appropriate level, from Beginners to Advanced. Morning classes are fun, interactive, small (maximum of 16 students) and combine all key skills: Grammar, Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Pronunciation. You’ll be given learning materials at the beginning of each lesson and tested regularly to help you see your progress. You will have the opportunity to move up levels. Levels range from Beginner to Advanced and are based on set course materials. If you study in the afternoon, each class concentrates on a particular skill. For example, Tuesday afternoon will focus only on Reading, Wednesday on Speaking, and so on. Our Friday afternoon classes are combined into a social activity. See a real difference in your English language ability and leave with unforgettable memories. For students who want to combine New Zealand’s beautiful summer weather with English study, you have the option of joining our Summer School from Monday 5 January, 2015.
HIGH SCHOOL PREPARATION PROGRAMME (HSP) There are 2 types of student who will benefit from attending our High School Preparation programme: 1. If you are under 18 years of age, based outside New Zealand, and are planning to enter a New Zealand High School. 2. If you are under 18 years of age and already attending a New Zealand High School. The HSP programme helps you understand all aspects of student life In New Zealand, including curriculum, culture and expectations of a school. Students will be guided through the Culture and Processes at a typical New Zealand High School and at the end of the 10-week course (approximately) feel prepared, equipped and confident about entering their school of choice. We do try to put students of a similar English language ability in the same class, however depending on student numbers HSP classes can include students from a variety of English language levels. Therefore for students who feel they may need more intensive classes
to improve their English language ability or benefit from additional linguistic support, we recommend combining HSP with our ESOL programmes. We offer two options for HSP: 1. HSP - Full Day Classes consist of 3 HSP sessions and 1 self-study session. Students have time for lunch and short breaks between sessions. 2. ESOL + HSP Classes consist of 1 (2hr) HSP session in the afternoon plus 2 (2hr) morning ESOL sessions in their particular English language ability level. Students have time for lunch and short breaks between sessions.

THE NEW ZEALAND CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE (NZCEL) Why not take your General English studies further and complete the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL Levels 1-5). This nationally recognised qualification requires the same internal placement test used for our General English students or an existing IELTS score. At the higher levels of NZCEL (Level 3 and above) students have the option to focus on particular areas of interest, such as academic or vocational subjects. Please note the teaching style and assessment method of the NZCEL programme is identical to our General English Programme.
Students choosing the NZCEL pathway are more likely to progress into further academic or business-related study. In fact, to give you the best foundation for further study, we recommend combining the completion of the NZCEL with an IELTS preparation course.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS Is New Zealand safe? New Zealand is one of the safest countries in the world. Like every country, there is some crime, but if students are sensible, the risks are very low. There is no religious tension in New Zealand.
How safe are the fees that I pay to EDENZ? EDENZ is registered with the New Zealand government (NZQA), and is required to hold students fees in a Trust Account, so that they can be refunded if the student does not start the course for some reason.
Is New Zealand nice to live in? The 2014 Mercer Quality of Living Survey ranked Auckland 3rd place in the world on its list, while The Economist’s World’s Most Livable Cities index of 2014 ranked Auckland in 10th place.
Can EDENZ arrange accommodation for me? Yes, in fact you can choose between our Auckland City Campus or Snells Beach. In the city you can stay in one of our shared apartments on the top two levels of our Auckland City Campus. It’s a great way to save on the cost of public transport and you’ll never be late for class! An on-site supervisor is in residence 24/7 to maintain student safety and monitor behaviour. Accommodation residents have access to public telephones (national and international calls) and the internet (Wi-Fi and Desktop PC internet data plans are available to purchase at reception).
Our Snells Beach Campus is a 1hr drive from central Auckland and situated on a 32-acre site in the semi-rural, coastal town of Snells Beach. Block courses, specialised courses, and retreats are held at this campus. The campus is entirely self-contained, equipped with lecture theatres, classrooms, a fully functional kitchen, café, TV studio and onsite accommodation. The interaction between international and domestic students, as well as the interaction with both College staff and staff from our various onsite businesses, creates a stimulating cultural experience and a distinctive learning environment. You can also stay with a real kiwi family and practice your English outside of class. Our Homestay department carefully selects suitable Homestays for our students. Their homes are regularly inspected to ensure quality and safety, and all students are placed in single bedrooms. Other facilities such as bathrooms, TV and phone/internet (if available) are more commonly shared with the host family. Many business students go to a Homestay for their first few weeks, before finding friends to share an apartment with.
Can I keep in contact easily? The internet is widespread, and students have plenty of access for email. Many students find it simple and cheap to get a new SIM card for their GSM phone while in New Zealand, rather than having to buy a new phone.
