The New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 1 (Foundation) is intended for learners who have a very minimal command or no command of English, who wish to gain more confidence in dealing with everyday simple topics in English. The foundation aims to provide a pathway to higher level studies.
Graduates from this programme will be able to work in positions that require minimal communication, instructions and commands, most of which are accompanied by supporting visual aids, such as gestures and graphics.
