Not just another education show
edexec live 2012 There are plenty of events out there for education leaders – some of them good, a few of them really great. Having been along to a fair few of them ourselves, what we at Education Executive felt was missing from the conference circuit was an independent event specifically aimed at bursars and school business managers, with focus and drive that would leave delegates feeling like they really learned something – no fluff, no puff and no unnecessary yawn-inducing speakers. So we took matters into our own hands to launch EdExec Live, a day-long event that does exactly what it says on the tin: a live version of our magazine – in other words packed full of case studies, presents valuable information and inspiration for school business managers, specifically. Visitors will be presented with tangible information that they can take home and actually use to their advantage back at work – think of it like a mini, day-long MBA for SBMs! We’ve chosen to make collaboration and focused information central to our day, that’s why the learning will come from sessions split into clinics or seminars, both running along side a supplier exhibition where they can meet and chat to hand-picked EdExec supplier partners. There will of course be one or two key speakers during the day – an opening speaker, who will be well-known on the SBM circuit. There will also be a lunchtime break where delegates will hear from an inspirational school business manager leader and the day will culminate in a keynote speaker who will address prominent issues within profession this year – the aim is for speakers to compliment the themes of the day, which provide an intense learning experience in the crucial areas of school business management.

WHAT WILL WE COVER? Being bang-up-to date and responsive to our audience and what’s current to the sector has always been one of our strengths. You can’t lead from the front if you’ve planned 12 months ahead! So exact detail on the content of the clinic and seminar streams both inprint and online cannot be confirmed now, but we can confirm broad topics that will be covered: CLINICS è LEGAL è HR è ICT è ACCOUNTANCY AND FUNDING è SUSTAINABILITY AND GREEN ISSUES è MARKETING AND PROMOTION è RECRUITMENT AND CPD SEMINARS è FEDERATIONS AND CLUSTERS è FUNDING AND FINANCE è ACADEMIES è RUNNING A 21ST CENTURY SCHOOL è BUILDING AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT è MANAGED SERVICES WHO’S ATTENDING Between 250-350 school business managers and finance directors.
CLINICS Clinics will be short, half-hour slots with a 20-minute presentation by a leader in each respective field on trends, potentials and pitfalls in their area, followed by 10 minutes of pragmatic Q&As. Clinics will be run within the main event space and delegates can attend several in a morning or afternoon session, or just one or two, dependent on their interest levels. SEMINARS Seminars (45-60mins) will be much more of a collaboration and interaction between presenters and audience. They will take place in dedicated break-out rooms away from the main event space. EXHIBITION The intimate exhibition runs in the main event space. This will be a buzzy, interactive space which will also run clinics, round tables, the demo hub, networking sessions and coffee area. This supplier side to the event aims to offer delegates an opportunity to chat to and learn from some of our key supplier partners. As with all things EdExec, we don’t agree that bigger is always better and strategic partnerships are key for us – EdExec Live is no different. We only want a small number of key education specialists showcasing at our event, those with a clear specialism in education and great track record as an education service provider.
opportunities for you
We have three partner packages for suppliers who want to be involved with the event, all of which offer you the opportunity to speak directly to our delegates, in a focused environment. The aim is to align your brand with EdExec magazine and the EdExec Live event in a partnership that firmly presents your organisation as a strategic player in the education market and the go-to brand for your service or product specialism. In addition to the activity incorporated in the various packages, all suppliers will get the benefit of being part of the extensive marketing programme that will run in Education Executive and EdExec.co.uk in our May, June and July issues.
