EDEXEC LIVE IS RETURNING

The event offers an interactive learning experience for our delegates, quite different to other conferences currently on the circuit. We know better than most just how busy school business managers are, and, with this in mind, we ensure that EdExec Live is a fast-paced event that promises to be the best possible use of SBMs’ time.

WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT EdExec Live (EE Live), taking place on Wednesday 18 June 2014 from 9.30am at London’s Business Design Centre, is a one-day gathering specifically aimed at bursars and school business managers, and experts in the field of education management, that promises to once again bring delegates all the useful content of EdExec magazine as a live event. Following an extremely successful few years, EE Live is returning with more of the same great content and a few added extras to make the day even more valuable to its delegates. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Those in a financial or business role in schools, specifically bursars and business managers, headteachers and deputies with a role in the business management, ICT or financial planning of their school. Also, aspiring SBMs looking to further improve their knowledge and skills and aid their next role in school business management. WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT Framed like a mini-MBA, this un-missable day will leave you better informed as a business manager and able to face the uncertainties of the future education system with confidence. Because we are independent (meaning that while we do have associations with membership organisations, we aren’t obligated to them) we can ensure that this is an opportunity to meet people from across the breadth of England’s schools network, including academies, fee-paying schools and free schools . It’s a unique chance to spend time with people you might not normally meet. Also, because we publish a leading magazine with a strong editorial agenda, our seminar content offering is second to none. MAKING IT REALLY RELEVANT TO YOU Come and spend a day with us; we can save your school money, further your professional development and even offer advice on how to generate revenue. Take advantage of seminars from sector specialists in academy conversion, finance management, education law, HR and training as well as ICT innovations and efficiencies. As has always been our ethos with our print and online offering at EdExec, being bang up to date and responsive to our audience and what’s current to the sector has always been one of our strengths. Visitors will be presented with tangible information that they can take away and actually use to their advantage back at school – think of it like a mini, day-long MBA for SBMs! The event is unique as it offers delegates the opportunity to select specific seminar topics, ensuring your day is filled with information and learning that will be directly relevant to you and your school’s current requirements.

COLLABORATION We all know that many hands make light work and two heads are better than one – when it comes to the business of schools it’s no different. Collaboration, whether formal or informal, with other schools and other school managers and leaders can offer exciting opportunities. Our event will offer you the opportunity to meet local and national peers, members of bursar groups and formal and informal clusters – all of which enable you to form professional relationships that can help you and your school in the future. In addition, it offers you the chance to meet and engage with key partners in the education sector who can help you and your school with services and support. Finally, we have some very inspirational individuals offering insight into the success they have had through collaboration and offering information and advice for others who want to follow suit.

If you are still undecided about whether to attend, read on: there’s no better time to sign up! SEMINAR TOPICS AND SPEAKERS Being bang up-to-date and responsive to our audience and what’s current to the sector has always been one of our strengths. You can’t lead from the front if you’ve planned 12 months ahead, so exact detail on the content of the seminar sessions is still being planned. However, we can confirm the broad topics that will be covered and, as with last year, they aim to mirror the key areas of school business management, to make it as relevant as it can be to your daily role. Workshops will fall into the following categories:        

Following the success of our ICT-dedicated event back in November 2013, we have made plans to incorporate an extended ICT agenda into the upcoming June event. This will encompass content that’s relevant to our business managers. Many of you attended our November event so we know how relevant this is to your roles - and it also offers valuable learning and insight for ICT managers, IT teachers and other colleagues involved in the purchasing and implementation of ICT in your schools. The ICT Matters section of our event focuses on new developments in classroom technology and putting them into practice. It will offer an invaluable opportunity for decision-makers, technology experts and policy leaders to be in the same room at the same time to discuss the future of learning in a digital age. This is an ideal event for school business managers, headteachers, ICT managers, governors, senior leaders and teachers with a vested interest in technology at their schools. The structure of the day allows full day delegates to easily build the ICT topics into their seminars selections for the day, focusing on these topics as well as the other, non-ICT, SBM-relevant content. It also encourages you to invite relevant colleagues to take up a half day delegate ticket for our afternoon sessions, where they can select from up to 12 ICT seminar topics to attend. As an afternoon delegate, their day starts at 12pm with a seminar session of their choice. This is followed by lunch and networking as well as time with our ICT-specific supplier specialists, and then attendance at a further three seminars and quick fix sessions in the afternoon, before networking drinks at the end of the day. With a background in the business of running schools, we are the only independent education technology event to focus on the resourcing and procurement of technology. Our seminars will provide practical advice on what schools should be considering to deliver best value for money on a digital front to their pupils. There is no other event like ours out there.

Standard ticket price for the half-day ICT Matters event is £50, including seminar sessions, refreshments, hot lunch and networking drinks. We’re currently offering a 30% early bird discount which brings the ticket price down to £30 - fantastic value!
