LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Greetings my friends,

The Holidaze are here and this year has shaped up to be the weirdest one of the modern era. We’ve been living through a global pandemic for over half a year now and there doesn’t exactly seem to be an end in sight. Social distancing, working remotely, wearing masks and putting hand sanitizer on damn near everything has become the norm. Many things have changed and now we’re going to have a new president, who happens to be the old vice president, in the new year. For the time being, cannabis is still going strong and continues to be

an essential business. A lot of new states just legalized recreational cannabis with some good news regarding medical and mushrooms too. And Edibles Magazine is finally back in print! This month the focus is on Oklahoma and the holidays. Oklahoma is now one of the biggest, most productive, most lucrative cannabis markets in The United States and it continues to grow fast. We’ve toured some really nice outdoor farms, greenhouses and indoor grows in Oklahoma and have been very impressed with the plants the cultivators here are growing. Weather conditions in the Sooner state can be wildly unpredictable and the extreme differences in temperature and precipitation levels can present some big challenges. That being said, there are a lot of advantages for patients as well as for people doing business in a state like Oklahoma. The level of THC in an edible isn’t restricted the way it is in a recreational state like California so it isn’t uncommon to see products labeled with 500mg of THC or more, much like you’d have seen in Los Angeles in 2017. Many delicious,

potent and cool brands are available. There’s over 2000 dispensaries operating and over 300,000 patients. That means the percentage of the population in Oklahoma who are patients is almost 8%, the highest in the nation by far. Yet every single county voted red in this past election. That’s very interesting and seems to invert part of the narrative when it comes to the social stigma surrounding cannabis and who it’s coming from. We’ve also got all of the winners of The Best of Edibles Awards, new product reviews, recipes, news, puzzles, comics and more. Enjoy The Oklahoma Issue! As always, smile at your budtender, tip your delivery driver, and know your dose.

“Truth is not obliged to stick to possibilities.”

GrowGen also recently acquired The GrowBiz, the country's 3rd biggest chain of hydroponic gardening centers. The deal with The GrowBiz will be closing before the fiscal year-end of 2020. As GRWG heads into 2021, it is a very promising cannabis stock to watch. Learn more about them at growgeneration.com. Growing requires patience and so does slow cooking. That’s why the recipe for this go-round is a slow cooked cowboy stew, with cannabis.

Slow Cooked Cowboy Cannabis Beef Stew Ingredients: 8 ounces of grassfed beef cut into small cubes Baked beans in tomato sauce 4 yellow potatoes cut into cubes ½ cup corn (diced) ½ cup carrots (diced) ½ cup onions (diced) ½ cup of sliced mushrooms ½ cup of your favorite barbecue sauce 2 diced roma tomatoes ½ tablespoon of chili powder pepper Salt and Pepper Jackalope Pharms THC Avocado Oil Tincture (or any infused oil) Directions: Spread the stewing beef cubes across the bottom of your slow cooker or crock pot. Pour the beans on top and stir well to mix them. Add tomatoes, corn, carrots, onions, garlic, chili powder, barbecue sauce and potatoes. Stir it until the combination is nicely blended. Cover with lid and cook on low for eight hours or on high for four hours. 30 minutes before it’s done add the infused avocado oil. We recommend 4 full droppers worth. Each dropper is approximately 10mg of THC. Enjoy and please know your dose. The wait will be well worth it.

Investing in the ancillary side of cannabis is sometimes a safer bet and it’s also often showing a quicker return on investment. GrowGeneration Corp (GRWG Stock Report) entered into the cannabis ancillary space in 2014. In the last six years, GrowGeneration has grown to become one of the number one operators in both the agri-tech space as well as now being one of the top hydroponic suppliers in the USA. At this time GrowGen operates over 25 retail and commercial hydroponic gardening and growing centers in Oklahoma, Colorado, California, Michigan, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and now Florida.

WORLD NEWS

Ancient Chinese Cannabis

Ken Breese

Shen-Nun was an emperor of China who ruled around 2700 BC. He is known as the Father of Chinese Medicine, and documented cannabis, or “ma” as he referred to it, in his writings on medicine. The Jirzankal findings add real life evidence and breathe new life into the notion that cannabis has been used for

thousands of years. In addition to the Jirzankal findings, years ago and further west in the Altai Mountains, a burial chamber was found containing a mummified female, buried with 6 horses and a number of treasures. Amongst the items her tribesmen sent with her to the next life was a container of cannabis. The amount of treasure buried with the “Princess of Ukok”, and the fact that she was buried alone, seem to indicate that she was a woman of high status, most likely the shaman of her tribe. It is believed that the Parzyryk people who populated the Altai region at that time used wine, opium and cannabis for both analgesic and ritualistic purposes. The evidence from these two sites and the writings of Shen-Nun point from Western China to South Central Russia as the first region to adopt cannabis use widely. We do know that Herodotus, who lived in the 4th Century BC described cannabis use by the Scythians, and that the plant was cultivated even further by India soon after, resulting in what we now know as Cannabis Indica, but, nothing before 2700 BC. Until then, it seems the Chinese were the first to use cannabis and introduce it as a medicine to the world. Next time you pack a bowl, raise one to the sky and thank Shen-Nun and the cannabis pioneers who have given us the gift of the cannabis we enjoy today!

In a recent discovery by archaeologists in Western China, a number of wooden bowls used by one village over 2,500 years ago were found to contain our favorite cannabinoid, THC. Recently, a team of scientists from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences discovered a collection of pipes amongst the remains of the Jirzankal Cemetery. The remote find, nestled amongst the Pamir Mountains of Western China, contains an ancient burial site containing a number of well preserved graves. The people of that place and time often buried personal items with their loved ones when they passed, and it seems a number of the Jirkanzal Cemetery’s resting souls were fond of their wooden pipes (we weren’t quite there with our glassblowing in 5th Century BC). Of the 17 wooden pipes found amongst those buried, 10 of them were found to contain THC. I did not find any data on strain, but, I’m guessing it was a strong sativa, as this was the cannabis family cultivated in the region at that time, and with the site’s elevation being so high.

The Mystery Baking Co. is bringing innovative, new and medical marijuana infused ideas to classic treats and delicious dishes, and takes a certain amount of creative inspiration from the mildly psychedelic cartoon “Scooby-Doo, Where are You!” which originally debuted in 1969. That makes sense, being that the creator and owner goes by “Scooby” and has since before he can remember. Scooby wasn’t always a creator of cannabis infused edibles – once upon a time he was producing music events and hip-hop concerts, and doing fun runs wearing a full size ScoobyDoo costume.

There seemed to be a lot of “edibles” but a lack of “spreadables.” Patients seemed just as interested in getting the butter fueling the Scooby Snacks as they were in the actual products, and if people wanted the butter, there was a really good chance they’d want even more.

He made the decision to share his creation with the patients who were going to medical dispensaries. At the time, it seemed natural enough to start by making “Scooby Snacks,” which were marshmallow and cocoa puff treats infused with canna-butter. Things

Passed Recreational Cannabis Use Passed Medicinal Cannabis Use Passed Both Rec & Medicinal Cannabis Passed Psilocybin Therapy & Decriminalized All Drugs

The biggest winner of the election: Cannabis! America was clear on one thing this election. November 3rd was a huge WIN for Cannabis and Drug Reform in the United States of America!

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 64

• Arizona - Passed Recreational Cannabis Arizona’s Prop 207 passed which for people 21 and over means they can possess and grow cannabis. The legislation also includes measures expunging criminal records for possession and driving under the influence in cannabis. The law becomes official Nov 30, 2020.

16

• Montana - Passed Recreational Cannabis Montana voters passed Initiative 190 with just 57% of the vote. Half of the Cannabis revenue will go towards environmental conservation programs in the state and the rest will go towards veteran services, substance abuse treatment, healthcare, and a general fund. People over the age of 21 will be able to use cannabis starting Jan 1, 2021. • New Jersey - Passed Recreational Cannabis New Jersey Residents voted yes on the Cannabis referendum, but these are not official laws yet. New Jersey’s governing bodies must still pass regulations and laws concerning the industry and limits on personal use and possession. As of now, police are still making arrests according to the existing laws. • South Dakota- Passed Recreational and Medical Cannabis South Dakota passed both Recreational (54%) and Medical (70%) cannabis, the key differences being the possession limit and dosage access. Recreational

cannabis will be legal in the state by July 1, 2021 and medical regulations will be available Oct 29, 2021. • Mississippi - Passed Medical Cannabis The citizen-led effort of Initiative 65 passed (74%) and allows doctors to prescribe medical cannabis to those with ALS, cancer, epilepsy, HIV, and 18 other conditions specified in the initiative. The program will be in place August 2021. In addition to the states that passed Cannabis, some also took great strides in drug reform: • Oregon - Passed Psilocybin Therapy Measure 109 authorizes a two year period in which Oregon legislators will have to create regulations for use and what medical professionals can authorize its use. Mushrooms would not be available to the public, it will only be stored and administered at licensed facilities. • Oregon - Decriminalized ALL Drugs Oregon’s decriminalization of all drugs (Measure 110) is an amazing step to ending the war on drugs. The measure removes criminal penalties and opts for a $100 fine and if a person can’t/ won’t pay it they must do a health assessment at an addiction recovery center. All money that would have gone towards arresting, prosecuting and incarcerating those people will now be redirected to addiction treatment services. • D.C.- Decriminalized Psychedelic Plants The measure decriminalizes psychedelic plants and mushrooms and instead makes it one of the lower priority law enforcement policies.

CORPORATE CANNABIS

Smoke Screen Ep. 8: Ignite Goes Up in The Smoke Who is Dan Bilzerian? They call this chauvinistic man child “The King of Instagram,” but it's recently come out that his massive 32+million followers are not all organic and most are paid for. He’s known for posting photos with young scantily clad women, a lot of guns, and sometimes pics of him feeding his bear he rented, yes a California Brown Bear. It’s what brings him attention and makes him popular, although I don’t know anyone that actually likes or respects the guy. It’s like watching a car or train wreck that you can’t peel your eyes away from. The lifestyle he portrays is lavish, and altogether a complete lie. He follows in his dad’s controversial footsteps, Paul Bilzerian, who is a felon and was charged with fraud, is serving 5 years in prison. He hid his money in various trust funds, corporations, and partnerships in his family’s names in order to protect their assets from the United States Federal government. In 1989, the elder Bilzerian was ordered to pay $62 million dollars in a civil judgment for securities fraud, though reportedly only $3.7 million was paid. The SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) has estimated that they have spent nearly $8.3 million, in 2014, in attempts to collect the debt. Even with all signs pointing to a sizable inheritance, Dan claims in an interview with Graham Bensigner that he made his millions playing poker. In that same interview Dan claimed to have refused his multi-million dollar trust fund and said he gave the money back to his family,

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 64

Bilzerian also claims that he is a Navy Seal, but there are questions surrounding the legitimacy of his service whether or not he even finished Navy Seal training.

18

He claimed in an interview that he was receiving $6,000/month from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for disability payments, which is almost twice the maximum amount allowed to be dispersed to a 100% disabled veteran. Dan’s descent into the public eye really came about when he threw a porn star off the roof of his mansion, and she tried to sue for $85,000 which he refused to pay. Then he was banned from a Miami nightclub for kicking a model in

the face, who later sued Dan Bilzerian for $1 million dollars. He skyrocketed to stardom when Joe Rogan brought him on the most popular podcast in the world 4 years ago, where he bragged about having two heart attacks before the age of 25 from going on a bender and taking a bunch of drugs including cocaine, ecstasy and an overdose of viagra. In 2016, he even announced he was going to run for President, before bowing out and endorsing Donald J. Trump. Bilzerian took that limelight and raised capital venture money to launch Ignite International Brand, Ltd. Ignite went public on the Canadian Stock Exchange (BILZF) via a reverse takeover of an already public shell company. Cannabis is Federally legal in Canada and therefore has nationwide backing of their banking system and allows cannabis companies to go public in their country. In 2 years of legal adult-use cannabis in California, I’ve never once seen Ignite’s THC brand in any dispensary throughout the state. Ignite is only on the shelves in stores in Canada as a THC brand, and in America as a CBD brand. They also sell apparel, nicotine vape products and alcohol. Currently, Ignite has been in the news for their less than favorable (and over two months late) quarterly reports to investors, owing over $40 million dollars to investors. Their financial reports all point to a dire financial condition of the company. Ignite also ended up in the news due to upcoming lawsuits filed against them. Former President, Curtis Heffernan is suing Ignite for firing him as retaliation for being outspoken against Dan Bilzerian’s exorbitant spending on the company’s dime. On Instagram, Dan called their former president incompetent. There have been four presidents in the past two years. Beginning with the current president, John Schaefer took over for Lester Lee on Sept 1st, Lester Lee took over for Curtis Heffernan June 8th , Heffernan took over for Jim McCormick November 2019.

EdiblesList.com I EdiblesMagazine.com

CORPORATE CANNABIS Ignite pays for everything in Dan’s hedonistic Instagram life. Models, events, yachts, the lavish lifestyle was all written off as expenses for Ignite. He pays for models to accompany him to make him look cool, knowing that these girls have boyfriends and husbands. He compared Ignite to Uber, before they released their quarterly report, stating that they’re worth $80 billion dollars and lost $5 billion dollars last year. But Ignite isn’t an app or tech company with tech valuation, Ignite is a cannabis company which should have cannabis earnings. Almost every other cannabis company, public or private, saw a bump in revenue with the beginning and continuation of the pandemic, while Bilzerian’s company saw huge losses. Of which they blamed those losses on COVID-19. They failed to release Q2 reports on time and filed two months late. As a public company they are required to disclose their reports to the public and investors. In nearly the same fashion as Paul Bilzerian, the report was hidden under links and pages within the website that were difficult to get to, though able to be found anyway. Ignite is millions of dollars in the red and as a result, Bilzerian was forced to give up his Bel Air rented mansion. Ignite received $1.2 million in PPE loans from the U.S. Government’s Stimulus Plan and they plan on applying for loan forgiveness by the end of the year. This is a summary of Ignite’s financials:

• 2020 Q1: Gross revenue of $1,694,658 with a total loss of $8,197,745 • FY 2019: Gross revenue of $9,661,083 with a total loss of $43,655,482 • FY 2018: Gross revenue of $2,448,891 with a total loss of $16,381,703

The company lost $50 million in 2019, and in Q2 of 2020 lost $19 million dollars. Which begs the question, if the pandemic has cannabis sales up all throughout the nation, what is Ignite doing wrong that their sales are so low and don’t warrant their lavish expenditures. The company is also sitting on $8.1 million in unsold goods, which would be a good way to earn some of that capital back, but Cannamart Distributor in Canada ended their relationship with Ignite. Their new distributor, Namaste, also terminated their agreement - 4 months after signing an exclusive distribution agreement in Canada. Bilzerian pledged to inject $25 million dollars of his own money into the company - in exchange for shares. The stock jumped 63% the day after the

announcement. Only $5 million dollars went to the company itself with $20 million going to debt and investors. Keep in mind that this is actually in Canadian dollars, so it’s more like $20 million USD dollars that he’s pledging. Since then Dan has gone MIA and hasn't posted on his Instagram since August 31st 2020 - allegedly because he stopped paying the social media company he was buying followers and engagement from. In the midst of all the bad press, days after pledging $270,000 to the Armenia Fund in September, Bilzerian received Armenian citizenship, leading some to believe he intends to flee the United States to avoid prosecution, lawsuits and fines, just like his father did. Paul Bilzerian, (who escaped his fines by fleeing to Armenia), has a ton of control of Ignite - participating on Board phone calls, even at times allegedly telling Dan to be quiet. The legality of his involvement is certainly questionable considering that convicted felons are not allowed to participate in publicly traded companies. Paul has amassed a fortune of real estate valued at nearly $100 million dollars. Now it’s been rumored, though we haven’t been able to find proof of anything yet, that Dan Bilzerian is fleeing the country to Armenia with his new found citizenship, because the FBI is investigating him for money laundering through Ignite and other business ventures. It’s plausible that this could be the case, since the U.S. Federal government does not consider cannabis federally legal and if Dan had multiple companies he used to intake cannabis money into banks in America, it could be considered money laundering, which could also lead to charges like tax evasion since the IRS doesn’t allow write-offs for cannabis companies. I ran into Dan Bilzrian in Miami, Florida in July of 2019, at the USA CBD Expo, where I was a speaker, exhibitor and media sponsor of the event. I went to use the bathroom and when I came out I had a hand in my face refusing to let me out of the bathroom with no explanation. The reason private security nearly slapped me in the face was so that Dan Bilzerian could film a scene walking with his squad of hired cheerleaders (in slow mo). Obviously I thought, WTF, and then I saw how tiny this man is in person. He was not his reported 5’9” height on his IMDB actor’s page. I’m 5’10” and 6’2” with heels on. Bilzerian looked to be about 5’5” and only hired models that were within his height range. When I saw this, it all made sense, he works so hard on his image because he’s compensating. Nobody feels sorry for this guy.

Canna Turkey Shepherd’s Pie Ingredients: 1 1/2 to 2 lbs potatoes (about 3 large potatoes), peeled and quartered 8 tablespoons Chef Matt Coconut Oil (THC or CBD) 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups) 1-2 cups vegetables—diced carrots, corn, peas 1 1/2 lbs ground round Turkey 1/2 cup vegetable broth 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Salt, pepper, other seasonings of choice (to taste)

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 64

Directions: Boil the potatoes: Place the peeled and quartered potatoes in medium sized pot. Cover with at least an inch of cold water. Add a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook until tender (about 20 minutes). Sauté vegetables: While the potatoes are cooking, melt 4 tablespoons of the Chef Matt Coconut Oil in a large sauté pan on medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until tender, about 6 to 10 minutes. If you are including vegetables, add them according to their cooking time. Carrots should be cooked with the onions, because they take as long to cook as the onions do. If you are including peas or corn, add them toward the end of the cooking of the onions, or after the meat starts to cook, as they take very little cooking time.

22

Add the ground beef, then Worcestershire sauce and broth: Add ground beef to the pan with the onions and vegetables. Cook until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper. Add the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Bring the broth to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes, adding more beef broth if necessary to keep the meat from drying out.

Mash the cooked potatoes: When the potatoes are done cooking (a fork can easily pierce), remove them from the pot and place them in a bowl with the remaining 4 Tbsp of Chef Matt Coconut Oil. Mash with a fork or potato masher, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Layer the meat mixture and mashed potatoes in a casserole dish: Preheat oven to 400°F. Spread the beef, onions, and vegetables (if using) in an even layer in a large baking dish (9x13 casserole). Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the ground beef. Rough up the surface of the mashed potatoes with a fork so there are peaks that will get well browned. You can even use a fork to make creative designs in the mashed potatoes. Bake in oven: Place in a 400°F oven and cook until browned and bubbling, about 30 minutes. If necessary, broil for the last few minutes to help the surface of the mashed potatoes brown.

PRODUCT REVIEWS TRANQWL Pain Balm

Robhots 100mg THC Berry Gummies

Laine Durand

Laine Durand

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 64

From time to time, a superior product line comes along that makes us wonder how we made it through the years without it. TRANQWL is one of those. “Does it really work?” I hear this question whenever I tell someone about TRANQWL topical pain balm. I’ve tried many other brands in the past and without hesitation I can say yes, it absolutely works! Skin is the largest organ on the human body. It plays many roles in the maintenance of life and health which is why it is so important to trust what we’re putting on it. TRANQWL pain balm uses the most effective, safe, and simple ingredients. With a ratio of 250 mg of THC and 100 mg of CBD, this product has plenty of the medicinal goodness you want your skin to absorb with no artificial or hard-to- pronounce ingredients. Not to mention, it will leave your skin feeling hydrated and smelling like tea tree and lavender.

28

TRANQWL topical pain balm can be used on a number of ailments including muscle pain, eczema, psoriasis, cuts, scrapes, and dry skin. I use it daily to help with pain and inflammation, plus any scrapes, bruises, or cramps. It also makes an outstanding daily moisturizer. This topical is now a staple in my bag and goes everywhere I do. Grab yourself a 4 ounce tub or the new on-the-go pain stick and experience how TRANQWL your life can be. Ask for it at your favorite Oklahoma dispensary.

With so many choices of medicated gummies on the market today, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one. If you’re anything like me, you want a consistent product that tastes great and relieves what ails you. ROBHOTS gummies are remarkably each of these things. At 10mg per piece, they are a safe dose for almost any patient or consumer. If you want something a little stronger, they offer them in 50mg doses as well. I got my hands on a bottle of ROBHOTS gummies and promptly darted home from work to give them a try. This particular bottle contained Cherry, Grape, and Strawberry. While I generally prefer strawberry-flavored candies, I decided to try the first one I grabbed. It was cherry! The consistency was perfectly chewy and the flavor was immensely satisfying. With almost no “hashy” taste, my biggest obstacle was taking no more than my usual dose, though my taste buds craved more. In about 15 minutes, I began to feel the effects of the raw distillate. Minute by minute, relaxation set in and forced its way from the core of my spine to the tips of my fingers. I was carefree and floating, but most importantly, I was pain-free thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of this masterfully-crafted medicinal treat. I’ll go to bat for these gummies like Babe Ruth in a ninth inning tie game. Consider this product a homerun in a packed stadium. Jackalope Pharms Pre-Rolled Hemp Wrap Blunts

Rare Extracts Grape Diamonds Live Resin

Nat Cassidy

Johnny Knowledge

Jackalope Pharms Blunts are available in a variety of strains including Gelato, Banana OG, and Grape Ape. This particular pre-rolled cigar was Wedding Cake. Wedding Cake is an uplifting indica-dominant hybrid strain, is rich and tangy with earthy and peppery flavors, known for the relaxing and euphoric feelings it produces. The THC content is 20.59% with 0.07% CBD and 2.75% terpenes. Each Jackalope Pharms Pre Rolled Hemp Blunt comes with a military grade strike anywhere wooden match. Like Jeffrey Tambor says to Hellboy in the original Hellboy movie: "You should always light a cigar with a wooden match. It preserves the flavor." It also helps to keep the blunt from running or developing canoes, which is what it’s called when your smoke is burning unevenly, in case you didn’t know. Get medicated with the power of the Jackalope and zero nicotine with these delicious pre rolled blunts. Like them on Instagram at @Jackalope_ Pharms.

Rare Extracts is one of the first Oklahoma concentrate companies that I got to know and they remain one of my favorites to this day. The Grape Diamonds I tried are probably the best tasting thing I’ve dabbed since I don’t know how long, maybe ever. They’re butane extracted, live resin diamonds with the Grape terpenes reintroduced creating a very strain specific dabbing experience. Live resin is cannabis concentrate that gets its name from the freshness of the cannabis plant from which it's made. Rare Extracts products are extracted using the live resin process, flash-freezing the cannabis plant material, then extracting it to create BHO (butane hash oil). The small, dark yellow crystals are 68.58% THC, 71.65% THCA, and 7.38% Terpenes. This is truly a deciously head changing experience. Sometimes when concentrate gets too strong, a single dab can feel overwhelming while other times the actual product hits much too rough for most people causing coughing fits. Not so with the Rare Extracts diamonds, They get you very high without being so overpowering as to make it unenjoyable and hit in a smooth and tasty way that results in zero to minimal coughing, depending on your tolerance. Grape Diamonds is a Sativa dominant hybrid of Skunk Berry crossed with Mandarin Sunset. It’s both energizing and relaxing. All in all, I cannot recommend Rare Extracts enough, They were even the 1st Place “Best Concentrate” winners in the 5th Annual Best of Edibles List Awards. You can see more of them on their Instagram at @RARExtracts.

Rolled in a mango flavored hemp wrap, these blunts contain 1.75 grams of actual flower, no trim. That’s a whole half of an eighth of weed.

Vapen 120mg Cookies & Cream White Chocolate Bar

Apothecary Extracts GG # 4 Ambrosia Cartridge

Daisy Dahlia

Patrick Ian Moore

The Vapen Cookies and Cream White Chocolate Bar is a delicious edible that contains 120mg of THC. Made with natural fair-trade white chocolate and infused with cannabis oil made in the Vapen extraction laboratory from cannabis grown onsite in their organic greenhouses. Crispy chocolate wafer crumble pieces on the inside make this candy bar taste like you’re eating an Oreo cookie with a glass of cold milk or a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Every candy bar is segmented into twelve different squares that each contain 10mg of tetrahydrocannabinol, making it a total of 120mg in the whole thing. That’s a lot, but not too much. Perfect for eating while binge watching your favorite shows at home on the couch. Start with one or two squares and see how you’re feeling 30 minutes later before eating more. This is a delicious edible. You could easily consume the whole thing before realizing you’d accidentally ingested a hundred more milligrams THC than you meant to. If that happens, don’t panic, just keep binge watching those shows.

The Apothecary Extracts GG # 4 Ambrosia THC Vape Cartridge is probably definitely one of the very best I’ve tried in Oklahoma. It’s 500mg of pure, uncut live resin created using a butane extraction method. The THC content is 57.20% and the THCA is 19.22%. The total terpenes total 41.9mg and include Limonene, Myrcene, Pinene, Linalool, and Caryophyllene. The taste is sweet but very natural. The terpenes make the vaping taste how these strains of flower smell when you have buds of the plant on hand. Very potent, pungent and tasty. The Gorilla Glue #4 used to extract the oil was grown in the Apothecary Greenhouse and extracted right next door.

The Vapen Chocolate bars are available in a few different flavors and at dispensaries across the fine state of Oklahoma.

We used this cartridge with an Apothcary Extracts branded 550mAh CCELL PALM battery. This unit is a direct inhale, rectangular shaped battery with a 510 thread magnetic attachment for the cartridge. They worked incredibly well together and it was a nicely portable and discreet combination, looking less like an electronic cigarette and more like a remote key fob. It’s especially sleek looking because the cartridge has a black ceramic tip that matches the battery perfectly. The high was nice, steady and clean. I was taking sips all afternoon and maintaining a solid buzz that carried me through the day. It was a good way of medicating without needing to go outside or call much attention to myself. 7 WAYS CORONAVIRUS IS CHANGING CANNABIS CONSUMPTION

TOP

Patrick Ian Moore

The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things about the way we live in this country. How we shop, what we buy, how close we stand to other people and many other strange things. One of the of the many industries that have been declared essential is cannabis, but cannabis is changing too. Here ’s our top 7 list of how the global pandemic is changing the way we consume cannabis. Enjoy and wash your hands.

1. DELIVERY, DRIVE-

BUYING ONLINE: Hanging out and sniffing buds in person is probably over. Buyers will need to rely on product photos, descriptions and online store menus. Hopefully this will include easily using credit/debit cards soon and stop with all the dirty cash. Not all shops take cards, but where possible it will become preferred.

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 64

THRUS AND CURBSIDE SERVICE: Dispensaries are now allowed in many states to provide curbside service for patients and customers who order online or on the phone. They’re also allowing more drive thrus in many cities. Delivery has never been more popular.

2. BROWSING AND

3. MASKED

BUDTENDERS: Masks and gloves have been standard issue gear in cannabis processing operations since back in the day, but now they’re being worn by the front-of-house staff like receptionists and budtenders too. Branded masks with featured logos are coming next.

4. EVENTS ARE CANCELLED:

Nationwide, cannabis events have been a big and important part of the industry since it started. Canna cups, awards shows, education panels and expos have attracted big audiences for years so no more ganja gatherings in large groups.

5. VIRTUAL SMOKE SESHES:

Social media, webcams, wifi and smartphones have made keeping in contact with others during isolation a lot easier than in the old days. Smoking on camera while friends do the same, sharing music and videos is all the rage while social distancing.

6.

NO MORE SHARING JOINTS, BLUNTS, BONGS, ETC.: This classic and treasured tradition is done. The amount of saliva swapped when sharing cannabis seems highly irresponsible in retrospect, but hey, we were high. Sharing will only happen with intimate significant others from now on.

7. EDIBLES ARE CONSIDERED

SAFEST TO CONSUME: A national spokesperson for the American Lung Association told Insider, “Smoking marijuana could also make a person's COVID-19 symptoms worse compared to a non-smoker. Whether or not you believe that, edibles or tinctures are a way to protect your lungs. Edibles are also a great way to stretch out the length of a high. The Holidaze Issue

Cannabis Not to Blame For Workplace Injuries

study drilled down even further and examined jobs with a higher rate of serious injury, such as operating heavy machinery, or working with electricity, while ignoring safer jobs such as retail or office work. To the surprise of the research team, these results remained consistent with the less dangerous jobs in terms of accident rates.

Like alcohol, cannabis use is frowned upon in the workplace, as it can impair one’s ability to work, especially in activities that require more coordination and cognitive function. Some critics of cannabis use contend that it can lead to more accidents in the workplace as a result of this side effect. Many of us out there would contend that we work better under the influence of cannabis. I partook before I wrote this article, and these concerns aren’t necessarily true for every situation. Some of us need the weed in order to do the deed.

These studies seemed to also point towards older cannabis users having a higher rate of non traffic related accidents, but also failed to account for some behavioral factors. Complicating this field of study is the dividing line between pre-legalization and postlegalization, as any study conducted during a state’s prohibition period is surely going to have different data than one conducted after it. Getting the Desired Effect With Your Edible Dosage Each Time Dr. Pepper Hernandez ND, PhD, BCHP, CTC, CNHP

When creating edibles, the exciting but sometimes challenging part of the process is making sure each edible has the correct dosage. Many of us want them to be consistent in strength across the batch. Here are some tips and tricks that may help beginners ensure they’re calculating the correct amount for themselves. FIRST THINGS FIRST: Make sure you know the THC percentage is in the strain you plan to cook with. Many recipes call for strains that are about 10 percent THC. Strains with 15-20 percent THC are above average, and those with 21 percent THC or higher are exceptionally strong. Also, take into consideration if you are using flowers or biomass? There can be a large difference in the THC percentage.

Edibles Magazine Issue 64

If you can not find plant genetic information or cannabinoid lab tests for your strain, estimate at 15 percent THC to be safe. You can always eat more later.

36

For every gram of cannabis, the flower has 1000 mg of dry weight. If a strain has 10 percent THC, then 10 percent of 1000 mg would be 100 mg. It’s safe to assume that one gram of cannabis contains at least 100mg THC for cooking at home. Using this dosage measurement method, calculate THC per serving. Take the amount of organic ground

cannabis, convert it to milligrams, and divide it by the recipe yield to determine a per-serving dose of THC. A starting dosage for beginners is 5 mg per serving—three grams of ground cannabis equal to 300 mg THC. Three hundred mg divided by the recipe yield (if a cookie recipe makes 60 cookies) equals 5 mg per cookie. If you want to be even more cautious with your homemade cannabis butter or oil, use half the dosage (2.5 mg per serving). There are various options for adding your cannabis butter, coconut oil or even concentrate into or on your goodies. In my opinion, below are three of the best ways to add THC with the proper dosage for cannabis butter or oil. 1. TRY IT YOURSELF Sampling the cannabutter to figure out the desired effect is the best way to start. Typically, I’ll try about half a teaspoon of my new batch of cannabutter on an evening or day when I don’t have anywhere to be. I usually put it in a golden milk/turmeric tea or coffee. But you can use it on whatever type of dish you would normally garnish with butter. I find this to be an excellent gauge of strength. 2. THINK ABOUT YOUR SERVING SIZE This works in combination with tip number one. Once you’ve determined how much cannabis butter or oil makes an effective dose, you can easily figure out how much to include in a recipe. For example, let’s say I’m making brownies

3. APPLY INDIVIDUALLY This tip is particularly helpful if you’re making a “mixed” batch of goodies – i.e., some infused, some not. If this is the case, I suggest apportioning your cannabis butter or oil individually. Let’s imagine you’re making cupcakes. First, make the batter according to the recipe (without fat). Then, once the batter is apportioned into the individual cups (but before baking), spoon a portion of cannabis butter or oil into the center of as many of the cups as you like. Bake according to the recipe instructions, and you’ll end up with some cannabis edibles and some plain cupcakes. You don’t actually have to bake with your cannabis butter or oil; it can be melted and drizzled on top of a finished food item. If you’ve made an amazing pineapple turnover that you know could be improved with THC's addition, you

can simply dribble it on at the end. This is just the beginning. We w i l l b e ex p lo r i n g many more Cannabinoid Recipes, Affective Strains, Terpenes and Cultivars in the coming issues. Whatever you choose, make it with love. Try it out, and remember that everyone has different tolerance levels, so making the perfect batch for you is what you should be going for.

Israel Drops Cannabis From The Sky Via Drones

Ken Breese

Recently, a gr oup of c annabis enthusiasts in modern day Israel have made the skies rain down with a new plant of their own. The name of the group is “Green Drone,” as part of their campaign to bring “Free Love,” the group’s slogan and cannabis awareness to the entire country. They plan to drop one kilogram of cannabis, broken up into five hundred 2 gram bags on cities and towns throughout Israel. Talk about making it rain. The group sees drone delivery as a safe and viable way to deliver cannabis to medical patients and recreational users throughout Israel during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Shortly before the group made their first drop over Rabin Square in the city of Tel Aviv, they issued the following statement:

“It’s time my dear brothers. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the green drone, handing out free cannabis from the sky. Enjoy my beloved brothers, this is your pilot brother, making sure we all get some free love.” Let’s hope the sisters and anyone else who needs it gets some of the pot, too. The cannabis drone drops are part of a project Green Drone is calling “Rain of Cannabis.” As the green rain fell, excited citizens of the coastal city scrambled into the road to grab as many bags of the free bud as they could. Unfortunately, the two heroes operating the drone were apprehended by Tel Aviv police. Despite being one of the world’s hotbeds for cannabis research, the legal use of cannabis is still restricted to a limited number of medical patients in the very country where Raphael Mechoulam first isolated THC over 50 years ago. However, legislation has passed through the lower levels of the Knesset, Israel’s legislative body, that would decriminalize marijuana and make it available for adult use. Let’s hope it gets all the way through, so our generous friends in Green Drone can continue spreading the joy of free weed. Considering Israeli scientists recently discovered cannabis resin on a Jewish religious altar from over 2700 years ago, it might be high time for Israel to embrace it’s canna-history and accept this latest gift from the sky!

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 64

In the Bible's Book of Exodus, the tribe of Israel, having left Egypt were lost and hungry. As their tummies rumbled in their time of need, help from above came in the form of “manna from heaven”, a white flakey substance, said to taste like honey. Researchers theorize that the manna referenced in the holy text was possibly the sap of the tamarisk tree, or perhaps Haloxylon salicornicum, another desert shrub found in that area of the Middle East. Whichever plant it was, legend has it that the plant sustained the starving Hebrews on their way to their new home.

F.A.S.T Laboratories Surrenders License to Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Lynn You

F.A.S.T Laboratories of Oklahoma City has surrendered its license to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA). OMMA received a tip detailing that Kyle Fellings, the owner/operator of F.A.S.T Laboratories, was falsifying test results for dozens of products. The company even gave certified certificates of analyses, the final level of compliance before it hits the shelves, to some products tested for unsafe levels of lead, mold and bacteria. Under the OMMA regulations, any other cannabis still in their possession must be destroyed or disposed of within 14-30 days of the surrender of the license. OMMA has not YET issued a specified recall of any products tested or given a COA by F.A.S.T Labs. The laboratory’s pre-emptive relinquishing of their license allowed OMMA to “eliminate any fines they could have faced and an end to the investigation into the allegations against the company. Although Felling is advertised as the owner, he is not an Oklahoma resident nor was he listed anywhere on the application or surrender forms for F.A.S.T Labs. He is still offering his testing and compliance services in his native Arkansas. The Holidaze Issue

This past September, the cannabis industry had a brief return to somewhat normalcy when CannaCon hosted their Oklahoma cannabis expo in Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center. Booths were placed further away from each other than usual, with no booths adjacent to each other but some placed back to back. It was a socially distanced event, everyone was wearing masks/face covering, and hand sanitizer was provided at the entrance While it felt a little hard to completely socially distance at an event with hundreds and hundreds of people, it didn’t feel unsafe, and most people tried to keep their distance if they saw you coming through their path. For the last several years, being the Publisher and Founder of Edibles Magazine™, our team became accustomed to traveling every month attending, exhibiting or speaking at cannabis events at least 40 different times every single year. When COVID-19 hit and brought a complete halt to all inperson events everywhere, we hadn’t attended any event in over 6 months. It felt extremely refreshing to get a taste of normalcy in our industry. Even though cannabis had been declared an “essential business” nationwide, meeting companies and people in-person at conventions and expos was always the best way to network. With every single event from MarchSeptember postponed or cancelled it was beginning to feel like things were never going to return to normal. Although, it wasn’t “normal” as it was the first event I’ve ever been to where every single person was wearing a mask because they were required to do so. There were over 100+ booths, featuring local cannabis infused brands, edible companies, grow equipment, trimmers, nutrient companies, grow supply stores, machinery and more. There was even a company that sells a machine to zap your cannabis with ozone to remediate out mold or microbials. For those that can’t afford the pricey 5 figure machine, they also offer a local Oklahoma service and will come and execute the process onsite for you. Check out the photos section of our website to view a complete photo story recap of OKC CannaCon. Issue 64 I Page 42
