What You Need to Know ■ Scholarships are available Visit www.edinacommunityed.org or Call 952-848-3952 for information. ■ Cancels due to low enrollment Although most classes run, we reserve the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. We will notify you three business days before the start date if your class has been canceled. Your tuition will be refunded in full. ■ Individuals With Disabilities Individuals with special needs are welcome to register for most classes and camps. Please note on your registration any needs you or your child may have or call 952-848-3952 if your child needs assistance in attending a class. Please allow at least a 2 week notice for us to make arrangements for assistance.

■ If you need to cancel or change your class schedule Cancellations or changes in your class schedule are accepted up to five business days before your class begins. Less than five business days prior to the start of class, you will be assessed a $10.00 fee and the course supply fee. You will be issued a credit slip. No refunds or prorating will be given due to inclement weather. ‘No School Day’ Camps are not prorated. Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Child will explore elementary skills that can be built upon as they learn to swim. We will work on front and back floating, submerging, and gaining comfort and confidence in the water. Prerequisite: 5 years old or older

Children will practice basic water safety, underwater swimming and swimming while using a combined stroke on front and back. Prerequisite: Passed Level 1 or can float independently on their front and back, and swimming on their front and back using arm and leg actions.

Aquatics – for all ages Level 3-B

Stroke Development

Stroke Refinement

Because Level 3 is a difficult level to pass, we added another class for students who have taken Level 3 more than 2 sessions. Level 3B students will be more experienced than those in Level 3. Focus is on endurance and stroke refinement. Prerequisite: Must have taken Level 3 for 2 or more sessions, be totally comfortable in deep water, able to dive, able to do front and back crawl.

Child will gain endurance by swimming for increased distances, coordinate and refine sidestroke, butterfly and breaststroke and build on water safety skills. Prerequisite: Passed Level 4 or can swim front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke the whole length of the pool, the start of breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly.

Fencing With Minnesota Sword Play Fencing is a vigorous sport that requires and develops stamina, quick reactions, speed, accuracy of movement and excellent coordination. Students will learn real fencing skills while having fun in our special Musketeers Fencing, which introduces children to the fundamentals of fencing with the foil weapon. Our classes are performed in a non-threatening environment with an emphasis on skill building, concentration, self discipline and fun. Creepy crawlers are everywhere! Designed for bug lovers, in this buggy filled camp we’re going to collage a ladybug, sculpt a caterpillar out of clay, paint a beetle and more as we learn about bugs and what their jobs are. Bring outdoor recess attire, a beverage and nut free snack.

Curious George books are re-created using creative dramatics activities. Movement, puppets, scenes, art, set creation and costumes all help equip students with skills and bring these stories timeless stories to life. The activities are utilized to encourage opportunities for reading readiness, learning, communication (social/emotional), critical thinking and fun! Taught by Wendy Muhlhauser

Classroom Instruction & Behind the Wheel Classroom training is 30 hours and is offered in the evenings or after school. Each lesson is independent and can be taken in any order. If a lesson is missed, a student may make it up when convenient for them and finish at their own pace. Behind-thewheel training consists of six hours of one-on-one private instruction with a responsible, professional driving instructor.
