Acting Up With Drama Kids
FALL Calling all Actors-To-Be! Our classes are the fun, no pressure way to find out if theater is for YOU! Whether you’re a natural ham or a little shy, we’ll help you build confidence. Every week we will create new scenes and improvisations where you use your imagination AND learn how to act. We love silly faces, funny gags and drama kids of all kinds. At the end, parents will come and see the scenes you voted as your favorite! It’s like Saturday Night Live for kids!!
Amazing Athletes
FALL, WINTER Let's get active! A wonderful opportunity for your young child to engage in an educational sports and fitness program that teaches the basic fundamentals and mechanics of nine different ball sports & seven key areas of motor development. In this course we will cover: baseball, volleyball, lacrosse, football, basketball, soccer, golf, hockey, and tennis. Build self-confidence, practice teamwork and improve fine and gross motor skills with us! In this non-competitive environment, children increase their cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone, handeye coordination, and reaction time.
Amazing Tots Sports
FALL, WINTER This discovery-based program is designed to get your toddler moving! These activities focus on helping your child meet his or her major motor development goals. Four different sports are covered including basketball, football, soccer and baseball. Parent/guardian participation is highly encouraged.

Astounding Drawings/ Cartoons
FALL, WINTER, SPRING We’ll capture seasonal colors and more in our fabulous drawings. Our drawing practice will capture the entire spectrum of colors in very stylized drawings. We provide art instruction in a safe, non-judging space where our instructors encourage and support each student in their artistic learning. All this and more await your artist in a Young Rembrandts classroom!
Chess Club
FALL, WINTER, SPRING A wide variety of chess skills will be taught and students will participate in competitive matches within the club. New and returning students are welcome!
Drama Kids Showcase
WINTER Drama Kids use the winter to polish their acts. We will create a large group scene, an amazing verbal showcase and plenty of scenes for pairs and small groups to present to parents at the end. Our instructors work with each student to build their confidence and show off their talents in the best way possible! Shy or dramatic, we help every student shine!
Fun PE Games at Concord
FALL Play a game before school starts. You’ll develop coordination and flexibility as you play games like Capture the Flag, Busy Bee, floor hockey, basketball, and tag. We will meet in the MPR (lower gym) at Concord Elementary. Mrs. Michelle Darr is a PE teacher at Concord Elementary and loves to see kids moving daily!
Intramural Floor Hockey
WINTER Teams will be formed and schedules will be posted outside the upper gym at Concord. Games will be 10 minutes in length. At the end of the regular season play, the two teams with the best record will play in the “championship” game - winners from this game will play Concord staff. Michelle Darr is a PE teacher at Concord Elementary who loves to get kids moving every day.
Fantastic Forces
WINTER Come along on a Mad Science tour de force! Feel angular momentum move you, and investigate inertia in action. Observe how the forces of flight affect airplane performance and use air pressure to levitate ping pong balls! Learn about structural engineering when you build a bridge, and electrical engineering as you build circuits. Discover the forces required to shape a gemstone and how to use density to clean up an oil spill.

LEGO Mania – Forces of Nature
SPRING This unit is all about the amazing and powerful forces of nature. Students explore the when, where, how and why of all kinds of natural phenomenon. We’ll examine a map of the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where most tsunamis occur, view a diagram of the tectonic plates and learn how their movement creates earthquakes, define the area known as “Tornado Alley” in North America, and find out what hurricanes are called in different parts of the world. These lessons are designed to improve your child’s understanding of the forces of nature.
The Music Link: After School Piano Lessons
FALL, WINTER, SPRING Thirty minute piano lessons are available after school at all Edina elementary sites through the Music Link. Lessons run continuously throughout the school year for students in grades 1-12 and meet once a week for 8 weeks sessions. Re-enroll for additional 8 week sessions as needed. Payments for lessons must be made in advance and a confirmation of registration must be brought to the first lesson. Contact Mary Linker at 952-831-4014 to schedule lessons before registering.
Robotic Builders: Rock n’ Roll Robots

Using the LEGO™ WeDo Robotics System your robots may include a Sailboat, Giant Escape, Drumming Monkey, a sleeping giant who will awaken on your command and a boat that will rock on the rough seas. This course builds knowledge of simple machines, engineering, programming, and teamwork in an environment full of rockin’ fun!
countryside kids club Meet Countryside KIDS CLUB Manager, Erica Koller Fully accredited by the Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program (MAAP), KIDS Club enriches and extends learning for students in grades K-3 with programming before and after school, on release days, and during the summer. We coordinate with teachers to offer personalized homework support. Our fun-loving and caring staff members help students grow as motivated lifelong learners and well-rounded people with homework support, stimulating clubs and special interest groups, and field trips. Join us every day, or drop in when it fits with your schedule! Learn more: www.edinaschools.org/KIDSCLUB At Countryside KIDS Club, many of our projects and activities focus on growing our students’ global competence, opening their eyes to the world around us. As a part of our program, we have a “Celebration of Culture” focus. Every month, we highlight a country for a whole week, and celebrate a Countryside KIDS Club family who is from that country. The family shares photos, stories, and everyone has a chance to ask questions. The kids have really learned a lot about different cultures around the world this way. We always have a lot of fun and interesting activities going on for the kids to choose from when they are here. Students can choose to participate in a running club, tend the Countryside garden, make structures out of clay, do cooking projects, experiment with science, learn new games in the gym, and much more! Check out other out-of-school time options for grades 4-5 and 6-9 at www.edinaschools.org/youth.

Normandale kids club Meet Normandale KIDS CLUB Manager, Sandy McVay Fully accredited by the Minnesota Afterschool Accreditation Program (MAAP), KIDS Club enriches and extends learning for students in grades K-3 with programming before and after school, on release days, and during the summer. Join us every day, or drop in when it fits with your schedule! Learn more: www.edinaschools.org/KIDSCLUB Normandale KIDS Club is an extension of school-day learning for our children. We provide enrichment opportunities in the areas of music, science, art, cooking, active play, computers and construction. Developing strong social skills is a big part of our program, and we spend time each month focusing on how to do our best to do what is right! We take part in several service experiences throughout the year. We celebrate our love of reading by taking time out each week to read. . . and this means everyone, including the staff! Our 3rd graders have a special role each school year. They lead our “3rd grade/Kindergarten Connection” program. Each 3rd grader teaches a small group of kindergarteners a new skill or project, sharing their passions and growing as leaders. Check out other out-of-school time options for grades 4-5 and 6-9 at www.edinaschools.org/youth.
