Después de tu día lleno de aventura, aquí encuentras el ambiente de la Marina de San Carlos, que tiene música en vivo de miércoles a domingo. After your adventure action-packed day, here you will find a great time at the Marina de San Carlos, with live music from Wednesday to Sunday. Beer is served very cold and lunch, dinner and snacks are a-la-carte menu. For meat lovers we recommend trying the Carnivore pizza. Or, if you have your catch of the day after your fishing trip, they will be happy to cook it for you!

Doney, tradición y sabor

No puedes pasar por nuestro puerto sin visitar Carne Asada Doney en el centro histórico y al norte, en la colonia Petrolera, que tienen 47 años siendo tradición en Guaymas. Pide los tacos de carne asada servidos en tortillas de harina hechas a mano, así como la variedad de antojitos que ofrecen dentro de su menú.

Your visit to our port won’t be complete if you don’t eat at Carne Asada Doney, located downtown at historical center and their north location at Colonia Petrolera, they have 47 year of experience and therefore considered a tradition in Guaymas. Try the carne asada tacos made with hand-made flour tortillas, as well as the variety of Mexican food dishes offered in their menu.

8 BUCEA EN LA ISLA SAN PEDRO NOLASCO

Para los aventureros de corazón, el buceo es el principal atractivo en San Carlos, en el que nadar entre amistosos lobos marinos y peces de singulares colores harán de este tu paraíso submarino.

Si buscas experiencias extremas, es imprescindible visitar este lugar. Se llega a ella en embarcación con un viaje de 50 minutos partiendo desde la Marina San Carlos. La isla tiene una de las colonias más importantes de leones marinos del Golfo de California y miles de aves, entre las que destacan el pelícano y el bobo café.

Scuba dive at San Pedro Nolasco Island

For through and through explorers, scuba diving is the main attraction in San Carlos where swimming among friendly sea lions or fish of remarkable colors will turn this into your underwater heaven.

If you are looking for extreme experiences visiting this place is essential. You reach this place in 50 minutes by boat departing from Marina San Carlos. This island has one of the most important sea lion colonies in the Gulf of California, and thousands of birds, including pelican and brown booby.

9 PESCA TODO EL AÑO

Si te apasionan las grandes dosis de adrenalina, no dudes en visitar San Carlos, que más que un trofeo, te dará una incomparable experiencia.

Durante el año la pesca es abundante. En invierno predominan especies como lenguado, cabrilla y jurel; mientras que en días calurosos el pez vela, marlin y dorado destacan en los torneos, que más que una competencia, es un espacio para la camaradería.

If your passion is adrenaline rush, do not hesitate to visit San Carlos, it is not about getting a prize but more like living an incomparable experience instead.

Fishing is abundant all year long. In winter prevailing species are flounder, cabrilla and horse mackerel; while in summer days sail fish, marlin and dorado prevail during fishing tournaments which more than competition is a time for friendliness.

10 PASEA EN KAYAK

El Mar de Cortés que baña a Guaymas y San Carlos es apacible y rodeado de montañas y cuevas, lo que hace la experiencia de pasear en kayak, un fascinante atractivo turístico.

Shangri La, Punta las Cuevas, Playa Piedras Pintas y Caracol turístico son ideales para un paseo. ¡Búscalos en el mapa! (Ver págs. 10-11).

Go kayaking

The Sea of Cortés around Guaymas and San Carlos is peaceful and surrounded by mountains and caves which makes kayak rides a fascinating tourist experience attraction.

Shangri La, Punta las Cuevas, Piedras Pintas Beach and Caracol Turístico are ideal areas for such rides. Look them up in the map! (See pages 10-11).

Nos gusta llamarle a San Carlos, el paraíso sonorense, porque sus playas son sinónimo de ello.

La playa San Francisco, es la más extensa en litoral y una de las favoritas para la convivencia familiar. Desde aquí aprecias una hermosa vista a la bahía y el paso de los delfines por la mañana.

Los Algodones, tiene dunas de arena fina y blanca. Puedes deslizarte en una tabla o tomar un recorrido a caballo. También encuentras opciones de restaurant-bar para seguir la fiesta. Un camino de 2 km más adelante, te lleva a La Manga I y II, una comunidad pesquera con playas vírgenes que ofrece mariscos frescos frente al mar y artesanías.

Tour its beaches

We like calling San Carlos the Sonora Paradise because its beaches are synonym to heaven. San Francisco beach, it has the most extensive shore and it is one of the favorite beaches for family outings. From this location you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful bay view and a school of dolphins swimming around the area in the mornings. Los Algodones, this is a white sandy beach. Ideal for water-board riding or horse rides. This area has restaurant-bar options to keep your party going. 2 km further down the road from Los Algodones will take you to La Manga I and II which is a fishing village with virgin beaches offering fresh seafood and handcrafts right in front of the sea.

12 ACAMPA EN LA PLAYA PIEDRAS PINTAS

Fogata, amigos y la inmensidad de las estrellas, son el escenario de este hermoso lugar. Situado a las faldas del cerro Tetakawi. Brinda la oportunidad para escapar de la rutina y encontrarte con la naturaleza. Pesca, esnórquel, kayak, camping, y nadar. ¡Las opciones son muchas! No olvides llevarte tu basura para mantener limpio este paraíso.

Camping at Piedras Pintas beach

Bonfire, friends and the vastness of a sky full of stars is the stage of this beautiful place. Located at the hillside of Tetakawi Mountain, it offers a chance to scape routine and find yourself with nature. Fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, camping and swimming; there are many options! Please don’t forget to pick up your own garbage to keep this paradise clean.

Climbing Tetakawi Mountain

Without a doubt, one of the most vibrant adventures to experience in San Carlos is climbing this 400 meters high scenery symbol where you will get to see an incredible panoramic view. Considering the extreme aspect of this activity, for your safety it is required to have a certified guide to make this climb.

Una dosis de adrenalina la encuentras más allá del corazón de San Carlos, explorando sus cañones que conforman la Sierra del Aguaje, como Cañón La Poza Manantial con caminata y rapel, así como recorridos con tu vehículo 4x4 a las playas más recónditas como Los Anegados, Cañón de Robinson, Ojo de agua e isla de cactus El Choyudo.

Exploring canyons

An adrenaline rush can be found beyond the heart of San Carlos, by exploring the canyons comprising the Sierra del Aguaje, such as Cañón La Poza Manantial which includes hiking and rappelling, as well as 4x4 trail rides to the most distant beaches such as Los Anegados, Cañón de Robinson, Ojo de Agua and cactus island El Choyudo. It’s really worth doing! Dive into the adventure!

Una experiencia para toda la familia la encuentras en el Cañón el Nacapule, que además es un parque ecológico que cuenta con tirolesa, puentes colgantes y áreas recreativas. Te asombrará la flora y fauna endémica que lo conforman, entre ellas la peculiar ardilla Chichimoco. ¡Es una visita obligada para chicos y grandes!

Considerado Área Natural Protegida (ANP), estero el Soldado es el único en México en contar con tres tipos de mangle juntos: blanco, rojo y negro. La riqueza de ecosistemas y ausencia de urbanización ha hecho de él un refugio de una gran biodiversidad, y en éste admiras desde la calma de un recorrido en kayak las aves migratorias que llegan en invierno. También puedes hacer tu recorrido en bicicleta, caminata y observación desde su centro de visitantes.

See the fauna of the Estero El Soldado

Considered as Natural Protected Area (ANP), estero el Soldado is a unique environment which has the three mangle types all together in the same area; white, red and black. A richness in ecosystems and lack of urbanization has made of this location a refuge that benefits a great biodiversity. Here, you’ll be able to peacefully admire from the calmness of your kayak ride, a flock of migratory birds arriving during winter time. You may also make your own bicycle ride, hiking and observation activity from its visitor center.

Si eres un ciclista experimentado en busca de nuevos senderos, San Carlos ofrece aventuras que lo han hecho el marco de competencias internacionales. Estero el Soldado es una de las vías más famosas por sus empinadas vías que retan a los ciclistas que buscan una aventura.

Bicycle riding

If you are an experienced bicycle rider in search of new natural trails; San Carlos is the place for you as it offers enterprises which have turned this location into the framework of international competitions. Estero el Soldado is one of the most popular places because of their steep trails that challenge bicycle riders who seek action packed adventure.

Experience the zip line

An activity for the entire family can be found at Cañón el Nacapule (Nacapule Canyon), in addition to being an ecologic park, it also has zip lines, hanging bridges and recreational areas. You will be amazed at the endemic flora and fauna of this area, such as the remarkable Chichimoco squirrel. A must visit place for people of all ages!

Guaymas is a city and port in the state of Sonora, located in northern Mexico. Itis also worldwide recognized for its fishing activity, tourism, and for being a Deep Water Port which connects commercial and industrial relations with the rest of the world.

When you visit this port, you can't leave without first having walked through the tourist boardwalk to appreciate the view of the bay and the Fisherman monument. A few feet from here the plaza 13th of July and the plaza of the Three presidents are located, where families tend to gather, especially on weekends.

Buying souvenirs

Upon arriving at the historic downtown (centro histórico) in Guaymas, a visit here is definitively recommended to buy your souvenirs. Close your touring of this place with a flourish by visiting the Mercado Municipal (Old Municipal Market) which started business operations longer than a century ago. Here’s where the Guaymas folklore and expressed warmth translates into delicious typical meals and handcrafts at very reasonable prices.

La bahía de Guaymas además de tener una gran actividad portuaria como eje económico, la llegada de cruceros ha traído una importante derrama económica para el lugar. Existen cruceros con rutas por todo el Mar de Cortés que permiten en pocos días explorar cada puerto de Sonora y Sinaloa. Además, de que la región cuenta con una marina en Guaymas y otras dos en San Carlos para que puedas llegar en tu propia embarcación. ¡Bienvenido!

Arrival of cruise ships

The Bay of Guaymas, in addition to great port activity as economic hub, arrival of cruise ships brought along an important economic revenue for the area. There are cruise ships with sea routes throughout the Sea of Cortés that allow you to explore in a few days each port of Sonora and Sinaloa.

Additionally, this region has one marina in Guaymas and two more in San Carlos, so that you are able to arrive in your own vessel. Welcome!

Si hay alguna playa concurrida por las familias guaymenses, esta es la Playa Miramar, con fina arena y comercios locales para cumplir tus antojos del día. Aquí puedes practicar kayak, o rentar alguno de los vehículos acuáticos que promocionan en el lugar para hacer la experiencia más emocionante. Se ubica en la bahía Bacochibampo. Puedes llegar en ruta de transporte público que puedes tomar cada 30 minutos en el centro de la ciudad, o bien, si vas en automóvil, únicamente sigue el Blvd. Luis Encinas hasta cruzar con Álvaro Obregón.

Visting Miramar beach

If there is a beach frequented by the Guaymas’ families; this will be Miramar Beach (Playa Miramar). It is a beach of fine natural sand with local commercial stands to satisfy your day cravings. Here you’ll be able to practice kayaking or rent an aquatic vehicle which they promote in the area for a more exciting experience.

This beach is located at Bahía Bacochibampo (Bacochibampo Bay). To get to this place there is available public transportation every 30 minutes departing from the city downtown area, or if you’re driving your own car just follow Blvd. Luis Encinas all the way to intersection with Álvaro Obregón Street.

Aunado al gran valor paisajístico e histórico de la bahía Bacochibampo, que en lengua yaqui significa bahía de víboras, sus aguas esconden un grandioso tesoro natural: las Perlas del Mar de Cortez, consideradas piezas de gran prestigio en el mundo por su limitada producción y altos estándares de calidad en la única granja de perlas de todo el continente americano.

Sigue el camino al final del Blvd. Luis Encinas Johnson de la colonia Miramar y lleva tus joyas, además de disfrutar de un tour interactivo sobre la producción de perlas.

In addition to a great scenery and historical value of Bahia Bacochibampo which in Yaqui language means Bay of Vipers, the waters of this bay hide a great natural treasure; The Pearls of the Sea of Cortez. These pearls are considered pieces of great world prestige, because of their limited production and high quality standards, at the only existing pearl farm in the entire American continent.

To get there just follow Blvd. Luis Encinas Johnson all the way to the end of Colonia Miramar and take home these jewels with you, this in addition to enjoying an interactive tour about pearl production.

Playa el carricito

Un tesoro entre cerros y vegetación del desierto. Playa, ojo de agua y riscos desde donde se puede pescar es la recompensa después de una caminata de 35 minutos al final de la colonia Ampliación Independencia.

Playa el Carricito (El Carricito Beach)

A treasure located between hills and desert vegetation. Beach, Ojo de Agua and cliffs as fishing points is the reward after a 35 minute walk at the end of Colonia Ampliación Independencia.

Paraje viejo

Y por supuesto una de las mayores atracciones del lugar es el Arco de San Vicente, en el que el amanecer se convierte en una experiencia única. Se puede acceder por transporte público, si deseas llevar tu vehículo puedes dejarlo a las afueras del parque industrial e iniciar una breve caminata.

And of course, one of the main attractions of this area is the Arco de San Vicente (Saint Vincent’s Arch) where sunrise becomes a unique experience. There is public transportation to this area, but if you wish to bring your own vehicle there is parking available outside the industrial complex, then it’s just a short walk from that point.

Faro Cabo Haro, un encuentro con lobos marinos

Este es destino rodeado de imponentes riscos vigilado por fareros y sus perros guardianes. La forma más recomendable de llegar es por mar, rentando un tour de lancha al lugar para apreciar lobos marinos y fauna, ya que por vía terrestre el camino es poco explorado y se recomienda sólo a excursionistas experimentados caminar por el lugar.

Faro Cabo Haro, an encounter with sea lions

This destination is surrounded by imposing cliffs which are guarded by lighthouse keepers and their watchdogs. The most recommendable way to get there is by sea in a rented boat-tour to admire sea lions and fauna. By land the road is relatively unexplored and therefore recommended only for experienced hikers.
