On behalf of the European Equestrian Federation, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Lisbon, home of the West regional group Longines EEF Series qualifier. It is our first visit to this historic city, and we cannot wait for the competition this week!

The Longines EEF Series is comprised of two regional qualifiers for the West regional group countries. The teams will be competing to score points, which combined with the second qualifier in Madrid will decide the 5 teams for the semi-finals, taking place in Deauville on the 24th of June. Following the semi-finals, 10 teams will head to Warsaw for the Final on the 11th of September.

The format of the event is a 4-rider Nations Cup competition. These events hold a special place in the history of jumping and require a different level of cooperation and teamwork to create success. The Longines EEF Series is designed to give horses and riders the chance to gain technical expertise and proactively encourage nations to include their younger talents, with each squad required to field a U25 rider. The combinations you see jumping during this event really are the future stars of tomorrow!

Gaining selection to represent your country in a Nations Cup team is a huge moment for any rider, and I wish all the combinations the very best of luck. In addition, I want to thank the Organisers and all those who have dedicated their time, commitment, and support to the successful running of the series and wish you all a successful competition here in Lisbon.
