GO, GALLIANO, GO!…

REAL-TIME REVIEW!

Oscar and John working together is a major moment! says Ingrid Sischy:

“Two cultures, two legends, one passion: fashion. Outside of the industry, people think it’s dog-eat-dog. But there is a generosity in fashion. This kind of embrace on the part of one creator to another is extremely moving.“

With Valentino

What does this mean for Oscar and John? Give me half an hour to see what happens, and I’m perfectly happy to answer this! [40 minutes later…] So, can you give us your review now? I loved it very, very much! The new team is fantastic!

MORE BROMANCE! Naeem Khan and Matt Damon

Your friend Matt is sitting in front row! Naeem: I’m very respectful of his privacy, but Matt said to me, ‘Naeem, I’m going to be there to support you!’ I love him for that. He’s so real, and such a true friend. And I loved him in The Bourne Identity; he’s such a James Bond man! Matt: Nobody has ever made my wife look more beautiful. It’s incumbent on you to support someone who makes your wife look good. Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso

Franca Sozzani

“It’s a comeback, and Oscar is Oscar. John can be very elegant and refined if he wants—and Oscar has a very strong point of view. It’s exciting to see the mix. This is good for New York.”

CHIC PLAYDATES! With Doutzen Kroes

at the CR Fashion Book party Do you hang out with Carine? We’re trying to hook her granddaughter up with my son! Adorable! What kind of playdate, ideally? Probably playing dress up! A little photoshoot could be cute. Does your son ham it up? He loves having his photo taken! When I get clothes sent to my house, my husband takes pictures to send to my stylist. Now my son will say, ‘Hey, take pictures of me!’ FA S H I O N W E E K D A I L Y. C O M

DA, DARLING! With Irina Shayk Did you and Carine bond over your shared Russian heritage? Carine and I spoke Russian on set; she speaks it very well, actually. One of the reasons Carine is so successful is that she’s a strong woman of the Russian blood. What’s your favorite Russian food? Pelmeni. They’re little dumplings!

A moment with… Renée Fleming and Christine Baranski at Vera Wang

What did you think of Vera’s show? Renee: It was extraordinary. So much variety! Vera’s an inspiration to all women. I love her career. This is Christine’s first show, which is insane! This is your first show! Thoughts? Christine: It’s like theatre ultra light, because it’s this mini event. It’s very theatrical. You have the audience, the excitement, and those beautiful girls. Renee: We get three hours to prove ourselves! Christine: They do it in 10 minutes! For our age, that’s kind of perfect!

Last night, Alan Cumming starred in the debut of Happy Tears, a video presentation of menswear designer Julian Zigerli’s collection. Why Julian? I like the way he thinks about fashion. His clothes are comfortable and out there. A bit like myself. Are viral films a smart branding move? There are many more interesting ways to show clothes than just having bored-looking people stomp up and down a catwalk. When’s the last time you shed a happy tear? This week, when I saw the marquee for Macbeth that I’m going to be in at the Barrymore Theatre this spring. “Without exaggeration, I’ve gotten over 100 phone calls and e-mails from people who just loved the story. You did such a great job. It captured the moment. It was fabulous!” .

Front-Row Beauty: Serious Nail Art Your Inspiration: Zoe Deschanel You Saw It At… Nicole Miller Libertine Monika Chiang Bibhu Mohapatra Sure the runways were full of 50 shades of red but a handful of designers opted for a more artsy take on their nails. Backstage, polish artists created outrageous (and freehand!) designs like the black and white stripes seen at Bibhu Mohapatra. Now, with Maybelline New York's Color Show Nail Lacquers you can instantly recreate any of the haute tips you loved this season. And at only $3.99 each you can afford to buy a whole array of shades. CAMELBACK! With... J. Crew’s Tom Mora

Any great travels lately? I went to Marrakesh last fall and was so inspired by the intense color palette. We rode on camels, took a desert safari, saw the sunset, and stayed in a tent. Does it hurt to ride a camel? It didn’t! I was a bit afraid getting on it; they’re grumpy. You don’t want to pet a camel.

FOREVER YOUNG! With Martha Stewart

Dennis is celebrating his 30th anniversary. What were you like at 30? Married, a mother, a caterer, hardworking 24/7. It doesn’t change! How do you know him? I’ve known him for years! He’s a man about town, and a character! A talkative character. And that voice… Gravelly!

TWO SCENTS! With Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy

What’s the first perfume you ever bought? Laura and Kate, in unison: Chanel No. 5. It reminds us of our mother. How do you like your men to smell? Laura: Clean! Kate: Forest-y or piney…

Carmen Electra

(NOT SO) HAUTESPOTS! Where are we least likely to find you, chicettes?

Carmen Electra: In a book store. Patrick McMullan: At a bank. I do it all online. Julie Macklowe: Starbucks. I like Dunkin’ Donuts so much more! J. Crew’s frank Muytjens: Bad restaurants. Ranjana Khan: A hookah bar. I don’t like smoke. g e t t y i m a g e s ( 1 1 ) ; f i r s t v i e w. c o m ( 2 ) ; b fa n yc . c o m ; s h u t t e r s to c k

London Town! Your indispensable guide to the style-set’s London Fashion Week secrets! INSIDE… Lucy Yeomans’ Little Black Book

FORD’S LONDON TAKEOVER Tom Ford shows on Monday, February 18th, cementing his love affair with London! Last year, he announced a flagship in Knightsbridge and shopped for a new mansion in Kensington. He’s told British papers that he wishes to send his son to school in London and to dress Princes William and Harry. Best places to spot him? Dining at Scott’s, No. 35, J. Sheekey, Mark’s Club, Harry’s Bar, or Cut at 45 Park Lane; getting a cocktail at the Fumoir at Claridge’s or walking his dogs in Grosvenor Square.

Star POWER Rihanna is set to launch her collection for British retailer River Island at LFW...

Where are you most likely to be spotted grabbing a bite between LFW shows? The Delaunay, Jeremy King’s, and Chris Corbin’s elegant Viennese-style brassiere, which opened last year opposite Somerset House. Do you have a regular order? On a good day the chopped chicken salad. On a bad day the Welsh Rarebit. Which nightspots throw the most amusing after parties? I’m unqualified to answer that these days. My 8-month-old daughter, Red, puts paid to all that. If pushed, I’d have to say Robin Birley’s new club Loulou’s. Where else in Mayfair has flashing palm trees on the dance floor? What’s on your cultural radar now? My boyfriend Jason Brooks’ show, “Ultraflesh” at Marlborough Contemporary on Albemarle Street. He’s a genius! Best spots for LFW beauty emergencies? Andreas Wylde at John Frieda (Aldford Street, W1) does the best blow dry in town. And I love Yvonne Martin (Yvonne Martin, Clarendon Terrace, W9) for her incredible youth-restoring facial massage.

Glamour’s Executive Fashion & Beauty Editor Claudia Mahoney on her LFW obsessions.

It’s been a banner year for Stella McCartney, who received the honor of an OBE from the Queen in January for her services to the fashion world. In 2012, Stella was chosen to design the British Olympic team uniforms with Adidas, and launched a lingerie collection called Stella as well as her children’s line Little Miss Stella.

MUST EAT Kirsty Hathaway (an alum of British Vogue and Glamour), has launched JustOpenedLondon.com, a guide to the hautest spots in the British capital this very moment. Here are her top 5 picks for Fashion Week. 1) Coya

2) Opium Bar and Dim Sum

A wonderful East London hideaway with a positively Dickensian ambiance. 5) Bar Américain at Brasserie Zedel

Another 2012 launch from those behind London’s infamous Wolseley and Delaunay, full to the brim with chicettes.

Opium Bar and Dim Sum

Top lunch pit stop? “The Glamour team are not afraid of carbs. We often nip in somewhere like Bill’s for a burger and chips if we need serious sustenance.” Who throws the LFW parties? Vivienne Westwood because she is so anarchic, Henry Holland (so full of joy), and Matches because they are so chic. What do you always carry in your bag at the shows? Painkillers to fight through the long hours in high heels, and Percy Pigs sweets from M&S to keep the sugar levels high enough to survive missing meals. Not-to-be-missed nightspot of choice this week? Dinner at The Colbert, which is the buzzy new restaurant on Sloane Square. Then perhaps a splurge on a night at Blakes, because it is the most romantic hotel in London. Shows you always RSVP “Yes” to: Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane, Burberry, Preen and McQ. London really feels like it is an important city in the fashion calendar again. Spots for LFW beauty emergencies? Linda at Charles Worthington for colour and a cut. For quick mani/pedi emergencies pop over to Nails Inc. on South Molton Street.
