A Young Lady with a Mission
Gina Kim, Durham, North Carolina was on a mission the last week of May at Mission Inn Resort, Howey in the Hills, Florida, to become the fifth straight first-time winner on the Epson Tour 2022 Season. Having just turned professional 4-month ago, Kim made four cuts in five starts. A previous top-10 gave her the power to understand that it was just a matter of time until she entered the winners circle on the Epson Tour. And that wait happened quickly for Kim. Thanking her parents for the support that they have given her through the years… and especially thanking God for the strength to pull through coming down the stretch to win the Inova Championship at Mission Inn Resort with an impressive 11-under par score of 208, distancing herself from 2nd place. With a solid birdie on the 72nd hole to win by 2 strokes over American Caroline Inglis and Mexico’s Maria Fassi both finishing at 9-under par, 210 total. Playing with Fassi in the final round. Kim lined up her putt to secure the 20
win, made the stroke right in the center of the cup. With a mighty fist pump… Gina was greeting with the ever present “Welcome to the Winner’s Circle” water bath from playing partner Fassi. She had no time to think… it just happened! Cashing in with a $30,000 check,
Kim vaulted up the Ascensus – Race For the Card standing 46 places, to a solid 6th on the money list. Look for strong result from her later during the year. Welcome the winner of the 2022 Inova Championship at Mission Inn Resort – Gina Kim.
With the mighty fit pump on the final green… there was no time to think!
