The discovery of the shadow has been an event since the time of Plato. The emotion of architectural shadow has fascinated man for thousands of years. SHADOW refers to a diminution of light, which occurs when a body of an opaque nature is interposed between a light source and an illuminated plane; from here two shadows branch out, one of its own, which is the one formed on the object and the other, more captivating, the one carried, which is the one the object casts on the ground. Undisputed masters of the use of Shadow as an emotionally strong architectural element are Le Corbusier and Giuseppe Terragni, who seem to “converse” with light and darkness as if they were drawn by their gazes and not by their hands. Oscar Wilde asserted, “When the light is strongest, the shadow is blackest”; therefore, the more the dark tones are accentuated, the more the architecture shines with light.”

From shade to shading: a careful study of the terrain, pre-existing buildings, and trees adjoining the building or construction site are supporting elements within proper and sound planning. Shading contributes to the cooling of offices, rooms, industrial premises and entire buildings. Tents and marquees, awnings, blinds, sunshades, pergolas, arbors, gazebos, dehors and conservatories, and telescopic canopies reconfigure and accentuate furnishings and design, facilitate energy conservation, counteract water evaporation, accentuate the livability of urban areas, and reestablish the boundaries of wellness and wellbeing.

1) design of the “experiential room” by the exhibiting companies (planning, set-up and products/solutions) : screens, mosquito nets, minipools, showers, sprays/nebulizers, scenters, diffusers, flooring, decking, indoor and outdoor furniture, furnishing accessories, leisure and recreational solutions. The room theme will be chosen by the exhibiting companies on a first come, first served basis.

2) Educational and popularizing activities in the arena (space set up as a mini conference room on the exhibition area):

2a) presentation of excellent case histories; 2b) mini-courses, held by landscape architect, on the use of solar shading in residential, tertiary, social housing, school building, public areas, etc.

3) “Zona D'Ombra - Best Practice” or “Zona d'Ombra - Best Case History”: publication in Editrice il Campo media and partner magazines (International Pool & Spa Press alliance).

A special initiative, the flagship of the 2025 - 2026 editions of the triple XLeisure event: products, solutions and innovations set by architects in rooms designed on a human scale. The home, the hotel, the waiting room of a company, the outdoor area of a restaurant... each room will represent an immersive experience. Strategically placed in the overall event layout Zd0 will be the natural connection between the world of swimming pools and spas and the outdoor world, without disdaining the world of sports centers and fitness clubs.

(3rd edition in 2025) is the exhibition project dedicated to the design, regeneration, and lifestyle of outdoor spaces. It aims to meet design, renovation, and furnishing needs for any outdoor context: private, private for public use, and public. This includes pools, home or condominium gardens, penthouse terraces or balconies, sports center parks, campgrounds or holiday villages, resorts, wellness centers, thermal facilities, and any hospitality-oriented structure.

OUTEX showcases the production, design, furnishing, and setup of outdoor spaces, offering solutions for leisure, wellness, and outdoor design. This includes pool decking and borders, synthetic turf, stones and solutions for pathways, outdoor furniture, umbrellas, pergolas, awnings, tent structures, and outdoor cooking. OUR MEDIA

Piscine Oggi has worked over time to build an international network of collaboration with other editorial entities from European and nonEuropean countries. It serves as a permanent summit for the pool industry, an international forum where initiatives can be discussed to advance the sector nationally, ensuring it continues to grow and evolve at the forefront. Originally known as Partners For Europe, it was a collaboration among magazines from various European nations, created to discuss regulatory and economic changes and provide the Italian sector with the best possible information.

Then, that project evolved into the International Pool & Spa Press Alliance, which originated in 2011 when magazines from major international markets - including Piscine Oggi as a founding member - formed a partnership. Over the years, this alliance has grown to include Banbas (Russia), L’Activité Piscine (France), Piscinas e Instalaçoes Desportivas HOY (Portugal), Piscinas Hoy (Spain), Piscine Oggi (Italy), Pool & Spa Scene (England), and Schwimmbad+Sauna (Germany). It has become a unique collaboration in specialized publishing, harnessing its strength through comprehensive cooperation among the publications: exchanging information, sharing services and reports, and providing mutual help and support.
