A GOOD SIMAC TANNING TECH 2022 DESPITE THE UNCERTAINTIES

A very positive outcome for the leather technology fair in Milan

A fair with a positive outcome, despite the many critical factors that fuel market uncertainty. Simac Tanning Tech 2022, held from 20 to 22 September at Fieramilano Rho to present the latest technological innovations for the footwear, leather goods and tanning industries, recorded a more than satisfactory trend according to most of the exhibitors. A result that is far from obvious given the difficult international context and concerns about the escalation of the war in Ukraine. The comments collected among the protagonists of Hall 18, where leather processing machines were exhibited, are rich in satisfactions both for the number and quality of visitors, even though the absence of Chinese operators and Asians in general, weighed heavily. “We are happy, we have had many visits and since today travelling is more complicated, those who reached the fair are certainly motivated by a genuine interest”, reports Mauro Pellizzari, commercial director of GEMATA. A good fair that obviously does not make us stop worrying about a future full of uncertainty: “I fear that the situation on the international market will remain difficult for at least another year. The critical factors that are holding back investments today, such as the war in Ukraine, high energy prices, increases in raw materials, are not phenomena that will be resolved in the short term, on the contrary they could worsen in the coming months”, adds Pellizzari. A very positive fair also for BAUCE: “We went beyond expectations: the Asian absences were compensated by the many South American visitors, in particular from Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. The tanning sector seems to have restarted in a great way in that part of the world”, reports Federico Calvi. Giulio Galiotto of ERRETRE/F.LLI CARLESSI shares the same opinion: “It was a very positive and concrete fair; the visitors present were interested in viewing the latest news. Unfortunately there were no Indians because of visa issues. As for future prospects we are full of orders. Our production will travel at full speed in the coming months. Major requests right now concern finishing booths.” With Mauro Bergozza of BERGI, vice president of ASSOMAC, we also talk about the energy issue. “It is the hot topic today, the one that most of all slows down investments because it creates maximum uncertainty on job prospects. As manufacturers of machines for the tanning sector we are all committed to the study of new technologies with low energy consumption and also a lower environmental impact. As an association we are further developing the Green Label certification to be able to monitor emissions and also the energy and production costs of each single batch of leather”, explains Bergozza. The final balance is also positive for the organizers. The 2022 edition of Simac Tanning Tech fielded 280 exhibiting companies and recorded a 57 percent increase in visitors compared to the last edition. "Italy above all, but also Turkey, France, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and India among the 86 nations of origin of the visitors," the organizers write in the final communiqué. "We recorded a very relevant and more qualified turnout compared to the last edition, with more than 4,000 accesses from the ticket offices of the historic pavilions 14 /18, and to which must be added those attracted by the powerful synergy between the Milanese fairs that was renewed this year and that made Milan the center of the world of the fashion supply chain”. In terms of content, the tanning machinery fair also lived up to expectations with the proposal of many technological innovations that we report on in the following pages.

UN BUON SIMAC TANNING TECH A DISPETTO DELLE INCERTEZZE

La fiera della tecnologia per l’area pelle di Milano si chiude con un bilancio decisamente positivo

Una fiera di segno positivo, a dispetto dei tanti fattori critici che alimentano l’incertezza del mercato. Simac Tanning Tech 2022, andato in scena dal 20 al 22 settembre a Fieramilano Rho per presentare le ultime novità tecnologiche per l’industria calzaturiera, pellettiera e conciaria, ha registrato un andamento più che soddisfacente secondo la maggior parte degli espositori. Un risultato tutt’altro che scontato dato il difficile contesto internazionale e le preoccupazioni per l’escalation della guerra in Ucraina. I commenti raccolti a caldo fra i protagonisti del padiglione 18, dove erano esposte le macchine per la lavorazione della pelle, sono all’insegna della soddisfazione sia per il numero che per la qualità dei visitatori, anche se naturalmente ha pesato l’assenza degli operatori cinesi e asiatici in generale. “Siamo contenti, abbiamo avuto molte visite e siccome oggi viaggiare è più complicato, chi arriva in fiera è sicuramente motivato da un vero interesse” riferisce Mauro Pellizzari, direttore commerciale di GEMATA. Una buona fiera che ovviamente non cancella le preoccupazioni per un futuro all’insegna dell’incertezza: “Temo che la situazione del mercato internazionale resterà difficile almeno per un altro anno. I fattori critici che oggi frenano gli investimenti, come la guerra in Ucraina, il caro-energia, gli aumenti delle materie prime, non sono fenomeni che si risolveranno a breve, anzi potrebbero peggiorare nei prossimi mesi” aggiunge Pellizzari. Fiera molto positiva anche per BAUCE: “Siamo andati oltre le aspettative: le assenze asiatiche sono state compensate dai tantissimi visitatori sudamericani, in particolare da Messico, Ecuador, Colombia e Venezuela. Da quella parte del mondo il settore conciario sembra essere ripartito alla grande” riferisce Federico Calvi. Dello stesso avviso Giulio Galiotto di ERRETRE/F.LLI CARLESSI: “E’ stata una fiera molto positiva e concreta; chi è venuto era interessato a visionare le ultime novità. Purtroppo sono mancati gli indiani perché ci sono stati problemi con i visti. Prospettive future? Noi siamo pieni di ordini, la produzione viaggerà a pieno ritmo nei prossimi mesi. Le richieste maggiori? In questo momento c’è molto interesse per le cabine di rifinizione”. Con Mauro Bergozza di BERGI, vicepresidente Assomac, parliamo anche del tema energia. “Oggi è il tema scottante, quello che più di tutto frena gli investimenti perché crea massima incertezza sulle prospettive di lavoro. Come produttori di macchine per il settore conciario siamo tutti impegnati sullo studio di nuove tecnologie a basso consumo energetico oltre che a minor impatto ambientale. Come associazione stiamo sviluppando ulteriormente la certificazione Targa Verde per riuscire a monitorare non solo le emissioni ma anche i costi energetici e di produzione di ogni singolo lotto di pelle” spiega Bergozza. Il bilancio finale è positivo anche per gli organizzatori. L’edizione 2022 di Simac Tanning Tech ha messo in campo 280 aziende espositrici e registrato un aumento dei visitatori del 57% rispetto all’ultima edizione. “Italia soprattutto, ma anche Turchia, Francia, Germania, Portogallo, Brasile, Messico, Spagna e India tra le 86 nazioni di provenienza dei visitatori - scrivono gli organizzatori nel comunicato finale - Abbiamo registrato un’affluenza molto rilevante e più qualificata rispetto alla scorsa edizione, con più di 4.000 accessi dalle biglietterie degli storici padiglioni 14 /18, e a cui vanno a sommarsi quelli attratti dalla potente sinergia tre le fiere meneghine che si è rinnovata quest’anno e che ha reso Milano il centro del mondo della filiera fashion”. Anche dal punto di vista dei contenuti, la fiera delle macchine per l’industria conciaria è stata all’altezza delle aspettative con la proposta di moltissime innovazioni tecnologiche di cui diamo conto nelle pagine successive.
