A human mission to Mars has been the subject of science fiction, aerospace engineering and scientific proposals since the 20th century. The exploration of Mars has been a goal of national space programs for decades, Conceptual work for missions that would involve human explorers has been ongoing for years after the first human moon landing.Mars is an obvious target for exploration because it is close by in our Solar System, but there are many more reasons to explore the Red Planet. The scientific reasons for going to Mars can be summarized by the search for life, understanding the surface and the planet’s evolution and most importantly for future human settlement. ALEXANDRIA VIEWING PLATFORM Alexandria - Egypt 2018

Alexandria is the third-largest city in Egypt after Cairo and Giza, the seventh-largest city in Africa, and a major economic centre. With a total population of 5,381,000, Alexandria is the largest city on the Mediterranean – also called the “Bride of the Mediterranean” by locals. From 2010-2018 Alexandria’s population grew by 18.42%. The City of Alexandria comprises only 14.9 square miles. That’s more than 11,000 people per square mile. The consequences of this is people suffering from overcorwded buildings infront the alexandria seas, causing a pattern of new buildings blocking views from older buildings. which makes alexandria living and touristic experience at risk devaluation.

The project will be a place of eduation and cultural experince which is core cause of this project.

Form Design generation

- The form starts with a simple block to visualyze the enviromental aspects of the site location.

- A 20 degree tilt of the form is done for full optimization of the northen wind and sea view.

- With replacing the simple block to a cylindrical shape, this allows better wind flow through the building and further optimization of the sea view.

- adding the viewing platform in the western side and the entrance to the parallel to the road

- with the help of radiation simulation tools, concluded the most impacted sides by radiation is the roof and eastern facade of the building

- An upwards tile is added to make use of the radiation esposure of the roof and add solar panels

- To protect the eastern facade from sun radiation louvers are added in the eastern side facade of the building

ICELAND PLANETARIUM Iceland - North 2017

The Aurora Borealis takes its name from Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn, and Boreas, the Greek name for the north wind. On clear, crisp winter nights in Iceland, you can experience the Northern Lights dancing magically across the sky. Seeing this magnificent light show with various colours dancing and twirling before your eyes is nothing short of amazing and each display is totally unique. Iceland is located at a high latitude, meaning there is no darkness from mid-April until mid-August. In this period of time, no Northern Lights can be observed. The Northern Lights season is from late August to mid-April. However, from late September to late March, it is dark after 6 pm, and one enjoys maximum chances. On a yearly basis, the Lights are at their peak in September and March. The reasons for this trend are due to the March and September equinox.

Mada’in Girl Sanctuary Madain -Iraq 2021

Iraq is a country of many historic wonders and has been the focus of war and unfortunate political and religious events. which placed Its people in suffering, due to loss of loved ones, homes, and cultural identity. By building architecture as a girl shelter, can be one of many steps that can contribute greatly to the rehabilitation of the young generations of Iraq. Therefore, Iraqi Children can regain their trust in humanity, and develop the power for rebuilding what was once lost, because of war and human conflicts.

Description 46 |

| 47

Concept The proposed project serves as a safe shelter for living for homeless girls and young women in Iraq. The shelter’s main objective is to be symbolized as a peaceful landmark for meditation, personal growth, and play. This is achieved by providing nature-enclosed spaces, and architecture mazes for girls to wonder, explore and connect with each other. Every part of the building is different with its own character and story, where every girl can create her own fairytale in it. For the project to serve its purpose, the design process starts with: a grid to facilitate setting the rules for possible structural connections in the building. Then the existent palm trees are preserved as they were and built around them. The built-up area is reduced to preserve the site’s fertile land and optimize the view of the Tigris as much as possible. The preserved fertile land will allow a variety of plants and trees to grow freely around the building and be a part of its architecture. vegetations are placed on upper floors to compensate for the built-up space. The initial form of the building is then reshaped to suit the environmental characteristics of the site, and allow efficient air circulation, natural daylighting, and view optimization of the surrounding nature. The form is completed by integrating parts of the ancient Iraqi design elements to provide a sense of historic wonder and presence.

Amanirenca culture centre

Concept The Amanirena Centre project is a Nubian culture Centre located in Aswan east of the Nile river, designed to preserve and revive the cultural identity of Nubians living in Aswan The building walls are traditionally made from Nile mud-brick with small narrow windows to moderate the climate while providing adequate daylight. The culture Centre’s main activities are expressed in spaces like workshops, an archery playground which provides work, training, and support to women in particular. The result is a contemporary Nubian landmark that educates both tourists and local women.

Building form The main concept of the development of the building form is to circulate as much cool wind as possible and help regulate the temperatures inside the building.
