CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Captain America (Chris Evans) believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without government interference. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sharply disagrees and supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) must pick a side. Release date: May 6, 2016 (USA) Directors: Joe Russo, Anthony Russo Adapted from: Civil War Producer: Kevin Feige Production companies: Marvel Studios, Marvel Entertainment Critic reviews Marvel has a better grip on Captain America than any of their heroes, and it can be said with confidence that the three movies come together to create the greatest superhero trilogy of all time. - Eric Eisenberg·Cinemablend A decisively superior hero-vs.-hero extravaganza that also ranks as the most mature and substantive picture to have yet emerged from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. - Justin Chang·Variety Entertaining mayhem ensues when some of the Avengers reject government oversight following a botched operation. -Peter Bradshaw·The Guardian Matching its blockbuster scale and spectacle with the smarts of a great, grown-up thriller, Captain America: Civil War is Marvel Studios’ finest film yet. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE BY JUNIOUS “MICROWAVE” SMITH III Everyone loves to complain, but not everyone wants to put in the work to change things.
chance there’s at least one hobby or event you can enjoy and have a gratifying experience from.
I was born and raised in Fayetteville before moving to Kinston in 2013. During my last few years with a 910 residence, I constantly heard peers talk about how there’s nothing to do in the area, but never came up with ideas to better it — self included. Moving to Kinston actually shut me up along the lines of little to do outside of work — I mean, the city pretty much shuts down at 10 p.m.
Or, you can do something for the community. Being a mentor is very rewarding and considering how crazy this planet can be, being able to mold a malleable mind to be a somewhat functioning member of society is an accomplishment. Attend city council and county commissioner meetings to see what’s going on and provide suggestions to improve the area. Don’t just go off heresay — take the time to educate yourself as far as why the city is moving in a manner you feel isn’t conducive to you.
I love my excursions to Greenville, hitting up 5th Street either solo or with the G-Vegas fam and enjoying the scenery. The residents and ECU students have never failed to represent in my eyes, which does nothing but make the times spent even more alluring. Yet, sometimes I’ll hear the same thing despite a bevy of activities in the daytime and late night. To be honest, it’s time to stop complaining and start taking action. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to not only count blessings, but find ways to entertain myself. Go online, pick up a newspaper or a magazine (by the way, I appreciate you reading this). There’s usually some activity, concert or event posted in a calendar you can attend. Even in Kinston, there are things like bowling leagues, seminars at the library or adult sport leagues. There’s a 98 percent

This is what I like to call the referee corollary: any time there’s a bad call, there’s an uproar. While it can be justifiable at times, most of the ones in the stands providing anger would never throw on the Foot Locker shirt, black khakis and whistle to do the job themselves. There are people who enjoy the city you have disdain toward and have just as many options (or even fewer) than you. If I can find many smiling faces in Kinston, Greenville shouldn’t be a huge issue. And if all else fails, take a vacation. Or move. You’re not stuck in a certain area — just inside your own mind.

ROCK THE ARTS WITH ROBB JOHNSON BY BRITTANY TAYLOR
Robb Johnson, former vocalist for Assembly Required, talks about his past experiences playing music in Eastern North Carolina. Though he currently resides in San Diego, Robb hopes Rock the Arts reenergizes the live and rock music scene in Greenville. How would you describe the live-music scene when Assembly Required played in downtown Greenville? - It was definitely vibrant! There were plenty of genre options available back then, which meant a larger selection of bands and venues. Where was your favorite place to play? Where was your favorite place to watch other bands perform? - Our Greenville home was Dr. Unk’s Oasis, hands down. Our band loved to play and watch shows there when possible, and I wish it was still around today honestly. Describe the most memorable show Assembly Required played. - It’s hard to pick considering that we played together for over 10 years. But, if I had to pick a show it would be between our set at X-Fest 8 (Thanks to 99.5 The X) in Kinston, NC or any given night we shared the stage with other great local bands in events like this one! Do you feel as though rock bands were appreciated when the band played in Greenville? If so, what made you and your band mates feel appreciated? - I definitely feel like rock music was appreciated in Greenville way more back then. That’s because it seemed that multiple venues were interested in keeping rock bands on their regular lineup back then. That’s not the case anymore in Greenville from what I’ve been told. That is surely disheartening to any guys or girls that would like to start a rock group up in the area. Dave Grohl would seriously disapprove! What motivated you and the rest of Assembly Required? Who was the most encouraging fan or group of people? - Easily our family, friends, and fans motivated us! Don’t get me wrong, music is obviously the driving force behind any real band out there, but the support from our crowds, day in and day out, produced the perfect reassurance of time well spent on and off the stage. Essentially, the local music scene built by all the fans became our source of encouragement. How do you think the community could foster an encouraging atmosphere for aspiring artists and bands? - I think that some venues continue to support local music, which is great! However, I truly believe that Greenville could use another venue that pulls in regular national acts with local openers much like the old “Attic” did downtown back in the day. Having a venue GVM | 9
like that in Greenville again would help to bolster the overall music scene, while yielding a source of achievement for local acts. You see, not too long ago, Assembly Required was playing poor-paying shows just to climb the ladder of regional recognition. We were always competing with other acts in the area when it came down to being selected to open for national acts. Sure, it took a lot of time and sacrifices when focused on making it onto a national act bill, but the experience of the nightly grind getting you to that point was just as rewarding in the end. I guess what I’m saying is, have the community support the idea of, and request from city organizers, to establish an actual music venue in Greenville. Why did Assembly Required agree to be a part of the show and what does the Rock the Arts of Greenville mean to the band? - We’ve always supported giving back to the community, and we’ve played nearly 20 different events that supported many great causes over the years. The Rock the Arts benefit is easy to support because we all have roots in the art council’s agenda! As schools continue to be forced to cut costs in the arts programs, more weight is placed on the shoulders of local programs, such as this one, to provide an outlet for people to express themselves artistically. No painting, lyric, musical composition, or artistic expression should be omitted due to an absence of support and cultivation! Assembly Required was formed and has been sustained by band members that keep music deeply rooted in their lives, and we all fully support programs that breed the same value in others. How does it feel to be back and playing a show with some of Greenville’s former rock bands? - It feels great to share the stage with these bands in Greenville, NC! Some we’ve shared the stage with in Greenville for years, and others we’ve spent time in their crowds. There really is a lot of talent in eastern North Carolina, and I feel fortunate to be from such a musically gifted region. I’ve spent the past year traveling quite literally all over America, and I’ve enjoyed telling my new friends about the great music out of ENC! I only hope that the local music scene continues to grow, and the community supports the artists young and old. That being said, kudos to our friend MJ for organizing this event!
“I just wanted to end by saying one thing. Music starts at home. Mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers can all have an amazing effect on kindling the artistic flame inside you! I say this because my parents Anne and Bob Johnson were so instrumental in my love for music. Family can be all you need to feel like a star, even if you’re only playing rock band in the living room. Music equals love, so share it!”

LIFE
All men were created equal? BY BRIAN GOINGS When I was born, I was born free. I played amongst my peers even though we had our differences in skin tone or hair texture. Although my long time best friend for over 25 years has the skin of milk and mine the color of earth, we call each other brother. We didn’t see the vanity of race and ethnicity. We saw the differences but we didn’t care, we saw in love. Now today I look at TV, the news, read other news articles and all I see is hatred and division. How can we live under a constitution that says we are living in a land of the free when so many people’s rights have been put in bondage because of differences…since the beginning. Maybe America was misguided in the words that they used or maybe they just lied and now we are living under false pretenses on what the words free, all men, and equal really mean. How can a state that has had so many struggles financially not recognize that diversity, no matter the difference, creates jobs, money flow in the state, and peaceful living? I grew up hearing the words “If YOU can’t say nothing nice, Don’t say nothing at all.” I grew up with the saying “Mind your Bee’s Wax and stay out of mine,” “Why you all in my grill?” (Why are you looking at my mouth, listening to my conversations?). All terms and sayings reflecting the new saying, “If you stay in your lane, I will stay in mine” and all meaning the way I live does not affect you personally, leave me alone. The problem all boils down to people wanting to control what other people do in the privacy of their own homes. I almost got into an internet fight the other day because some guy wanted to argue that there were not any naturally blond black people. I
GVM | 11
assured him that there were because my friend is black, she has naturally blond hair, no she is not albino, yes we all are puzzled but she’s living and she is a Greenville native. What stopped me was when I realized that because he was not black, he just automatically assumed he was right and that he knew everything their was to being black based off of his observations from creation until now on what the genome code of an African- African American looks like. That is the problem, people seem to know what is best for other people, know the mindset and struggles of, know exactly how people live, without ever being in their shoes. I can assure you that as a 30 year old man, I cannot tell you the pains that a woman has at child birth, I can assure you that I do not know how the man or woman that may live on 5354 third street lives, because I am not in their home. I can assure you that I don’t know what it is like to have multiple personality disorder because I don’t have that. Make me mad and you will get the other Brian though. But we cannot continue to ALLOW people to make laws and policies based off of their own interpretations of how other people live if they have never in a day of their life lived that life. I heard that History tends to repeat itself. If you want more riots, more bloodshed, more Boston tea parties, and more Willie Lynch stories, then North Carolina and a lot of oppression based states need to wake up. If it doesn’t the constitution needs to be changed to what it really is. Certain men are created equal with alienable rights….

megosh Forged from the bone-metal of ancient dragons, Megosh rises, and the gods tremble...
Signed to Revival Recordings, is a four manned group from Baltimore, Maryland that have a very unique sound. Their music and catchy melodies hold a certain youthful honesty and optimism highlighted by their guitar driven three-part harmony and as Anna Adele says, “that GROOVY BASS tho.” Megosh is one of the rare bands that incorporate several different styles and genres and it all blends beautifully making it difficult to ascribe their unique sound to one genre. Some have described them to be reminiscent of Coheed & Cambria while still forging their own musical direction. This is that one band you have to listen for yourself to actually grasp and understand their engaging and individualized sound. The main question I ask every band on the Revival label is: How long have you been with Revival and how do you like being signed to Revival? Josh replied: “Well, we have been with revival for a few years now. As Shawn says ‘Megosh is OG.’ We really like the family feel and Shawn has a gift of finding talented bands that are also not total douchebags... So as far as the label and the bands go, it really is one big family. Plus Shawn NEVER says anything bad about us... EVER...haha, I’m joking!!!” In 2014, Megosh set out on tour and decided to do things a little different. The guys decided to do a Crash Your Couch Tour. They partied and played music with fans, crashed birthday parties, and just hung out to get to know the people who have become so loyal and dedicated to Megosh. By the way, they made webisodes of their “CYCT” and they are hilarious. The webisodes give you a different outlook on Josh, Finch, Derv, and Jon John. On this journey, GVM | 13
BY CHRISTINA RENDANO the Megosh boys have built such strong friendships with their fans. I asked Josh how the idea of couch touring came about and Josh replied, “Couch touring is a unique routing in itself. We always liked doing the things other bands were afraid to do... Like simply driving to a fans house and playing personally for that individual and/or their friends and family. We’ve bonded with every single person we’ve met on those tours and look forward to always doing them. Finch came up with the initial idea of couch touring and I just brought it to reality by setting the guidelines and tour routings.” Their Southern Sanctuary Tour kicked of April 6th at Kaboom Art Gallery in Garner, North Carolina with Silversyde and The Knowing Within. Upon arriving, my crew and I were greeted by Sarah “Jynnx” Hawk, site coordinator at Kaboom, with open arms. As always she was on top of her game by making sure everyone, including the bands had everything they needed. Then, out of the corner of my eye. The man, the myth, the legend with the infamous mustache...Josh Grosscup. Josh did not hesitate to make his way over to speak, as he does with everyone. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Josh over the past few months, via Facebook, asking questions about Megosh and being signed to Revival Recordings. In my opinion, Kaboom had not been rocked so hard by one band, as they were by MEGOSH. If you missed Megosh the first time around, DO NOT worry!! They are setting out with label mates The Things They Carried in May. What date will you be at? ON THE WEB: http://www.megoshmusic.com/ http://www.revivalrecs.com/

Justin Young He could be your best friend, but he’s mine. BY JULIE HOWARD
Justin Young doesn’t really stand out in a crowd. He isn’t a flashy dresser, he isn’t loud, he doesn’t swagger into a room, and he doesn’t really look all that intimidating. He’s just your average, 30 something dude in jeans and a faded t-shirt. And not one of those bought-new-made-to-lookfaded shirts, either. Most of his t-shirts are faded and a little frayed around the edges because he’s had them for 15+ years. And before you ask, no, he’s not superstitious. He doesn’t keep all these shirts for “luck”, he just doesn’t feel the need to replace something when it works just fine for him. So when Justin enters a room, gives a small smile, or waves at a friend he may know, he doesn’t really stand out. Unless that room is in Las Vegas. Or, most recently, at the Hard Rock Hotel in Florida.
smile, amid deafening cheers from his family and friends, as the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $3,500 Main Event winner. “When I realized I won a numbness came over me. I remember flashes of hugging people on my rail. I have come close so many times. It was a huge weight off my shoulders and legitimized a lot of time and effort I have put into the game,” Young said. The first person he hugged was Morgan. When you’ve been married to your best friend for almost ten years, it was a no brainer that she would fly in for the final round. “The best thing about being married to Morgan is the constant support she has had for me. No matter how low things got she never doubted my abilities. That’s invaluable as a poker player when there are so many peaks and valleys,” Young said.
Justin Young is from New Bern, North Carolina and after graduating from NC State University, began a career as a mechanical engineer in Havelock at Cherry Point. After playing online and cash games for years, he and his lovely wife, Morgan, made the move to Sin City. He’s been living there and playing full time for the last nine years. Justin’s poker career history is just a few keystrokes away, and there are some games and tournaments that he’s walked away from with a smile on his face. With strengths like experience, recognition and a solid math background, he makes for a tough competitor. But, like most professional poker players, he’s walked away from more than a few with a scowl or a low hung head. “I’d have to say some of my weaknesses are that I follow my instincts and reads to a fault,” Young said during a recent conversation.
The peaks and valleys are still enough to keep Justin interested in the game full time. Although he doesn’t ever see himself leaving poker for a 9-5 job, he could see himself “investing in a business, real estate, or a franchise like Chipotle or Subway.” For now his long term goals are still focused on becoming better at poker. “I still love the game so much. All I want to do is become the best,” Young said.
None of those instincts failed him last week; however. After playing for over eight days, Justin walked away with a huge GVM | 17
So while Justin may not stand out in a crowd, those that are lucky enough to call him a friend, think he’s pretty show stopping. Even with all those faded t-shirts. But at least now he has a couple extra dollars if he wants to buy a new one. When he’s deep in a tournament, he’s 100% focused on the table. Now he’s already focused on his next game. And also where he’s going to put that new, ridiculously giant, trophy.

AMERICAN HI-FI
A brand new, completely re-imagined, acoustic version of American Hi-Fi’s beloved 2001 debut album will be released this Friday, April 29 via Rude Records in celebration of the LP’s 15 year anniversary (14 years, 364 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds to be exact.) Recorded at Sunset Sound, the legendary studio in the heart of Hollywood where such acts as Social Distortion, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Rancid, and Tom Petty have all recorded, “American Hi-Fi Acoustic” is streaming in full on Fuse. ABOUT AMERICAN HI-FI: American Hi-Fi is an American pop punk band that formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1998. The band consists of vocalist Stacy Jones, guitarist Jamie Arentzen, bassist Drew Parsons, and drummer Brian Nolan. Prior to the group’s formation, Stacy Jones was well known for being a drummer in the successful alternative rock bands Veruca Salt and Letters to Cleo. American Hi-Fi has a close relationship with Miley Cyrus, whose band shares two members with American Hi-Fi. The group has a mixed musical style that includes influences from pop punk, alternative rock, and power pop. GVM | 19
The group released its eponymous debut album in 2001, and this led to their hit single “Flavor of the Weak” and the band was awarded as the “Rising Star” from the Boston Music Awards, 2001. After a successful tour, they released the live album Rock N’ Roll Noodle Shop: Live from Tokyo and then the full album The Art of Losing, in 2002 and 2003 respectively. After this, the group was dropped from their label, Island Records, and moved to Los Angeles to remake their production and sound. Working with veteran music producer Butch Walker, they released Hearts on Parade in 2005. The band then toured to a widespread fan-base in Japan and in the United States. Finally the band came back after five years of interval, releasing their fourth studio album Fight the Frequency in August 2010. In 2014 the band was back with ‘Blood & Lemonade’, American Hi-Fi’s fifth full length out on European label Rude Records. Featuring the single ‘Allison’ and other notables ‘Golden State’ and ‘Armageddon Days’, the record wholly embraced the sound and spirit of classic, balls-to-thewall, guitar rock mixed with the power pop sensibilities that lead to their worldwide smash ‘Flavor of the Weak’.

Facebook Relationship, Who knows? BY RANDY MOORE
For the Facebook generation, love now comes with a drop-down menu. With profiles on the Facebook social networking site almost de rigueur on college campuses, students can define their relationship status with menu choices ranging from “married” to that perennial favorite, “It’s complicated.” “It’s complicated” could also describe the emotional calculations people in their late teens and early 20s make as they decide whether their relationships are what they call “Facebook-worthy.” “If you change your Facebook status to single you take away the very best part (heart) of me. Oooooo ooooo no baby please don’t go.” “It’s Complicated” is quite a lot to live up to. Is it as complicated as making out with your cousin, getting a crush on her, then dating a very boring
GVM | 21
religious girl, making out with your cousin again to get attention from her mother, and then pestering your dad to see if she may be adopted? That’s complicated. Having a long-distance boyfriend in Peru and sleeping his twin brother is not really complicated. Fine, it’s complicated too. What about dating a girl that won’t have sex before marriage and encourages you to seek out other girls until the wedding day? Yeah, also complicated. I can’t think of a relationship scenario that’s not complicated. Facebook should have a function that allows users to change their status on the fly. You meet some good-looker in a bar and you can pocket that wedding band and change your status to single. Wait. That’s the opposite of what Facebook should do...

SUMMER TRAVEL
DO’S & DON’TS Taking a summer vacation? Don’t forget sunscreen and your swimsuit. (Do I sound like your mom?) And leave room in your suitcase for great souvenirs for the folks you left behind. (Hint: I collect hankies of the states.) While on the road, you’re likely to encounter high gas prices, overbooked airplanes, short tempers and long lines. So try to stay cool with these 10 do’s and don’ts for the well-mannered summertime traveler. SUMMER DON’TS: BARELY THERE AND DEFINITELY DISTRACTED
1. At the airport: Don’t go bare
It’s tempting to head to the airport in flip-flops, a tank top and shorty-shorts. But there are plenty of reasons not to: you can freeze your bum if on-board temperatures dip and you may give your seatmates an unintended eyeful when reaching up to store your stuff or bending over to retrieve it. Worse, sitting on an airplane in a skimpy outfit might make you sick: airplane cabins don’t get cleaned very often and more than once I’ve seen parents using seat cushions as diaper changing tables. So cover up.
2. Out on the highway: Don’t get distracted
If you commute, you’ve probably seen folks shaving, applying make-up, reading, eating or text-messaging (or some combination of them all) on their way to work. Highways get even more dangerous in the summer as vacationers try to maneuver through unfamiliar interchanges in rental cars or unwieldy RVs. So don’t wait until you’re going 70 mph to unfold the roadmap or start searching through paperwork for the directions to the motel. And don’t forget to take a headcount before heading out on the road after a highway rest stop. Especially if you’re traveling with kids, pets or slow-moving in-laws.
3. In the streets: Don’t be an ‘ugly American’
In this country or overseas, many people say they dream of visiting new places and seeing new things. Yet, once
GVM | 23
they’re out there, they complain that things aren’t “just like home.” Well, only back home is “just like home,” so if you’ve finally ventured beyond your front door, don’t insist or expect that everyone will speak English, put ketchup on their French fries, or do things the way they do it back in Missouri.
4. On a tour: Don’t be the distraction
OK, maybe you wanted to join that behind-the-scenes tour of the sports dome. But you lost the coin toss and now you’re trailing your spouse and her aunt on a three-hour guided tour of the Dear and Dainty Dollhouse Museum. Some people are actually there to hear the tour guide’s information — and all those corny jokes — so don’t ruin it for everyone else by whining, talking on your cell phone, or cracking wise from the back row.
5. Out in the woods: Don’t make assumptions
Imagine a walk in the woods on a sunny summer day, with the birds sweetly chirping and a brook gently babbling. But beware: a wrong turn on a poorly marked trail or the arrival of a fast-moving thunderstorm can turn an afternoon hike deadly. Don’t start your hike too late in the day and don’t forget to bring water, snacks, a sweater, cell phone and stuff that might just save your life. And don’t ignore signs that say: “Python Crossing,” “Beware: Falling Boulders” or “Turn Back Now.”
GVM
TRAVEL
SUMMER DO’S: DRESS RIGHT AND CARRY A BIG TIP
1. Dress appropriately
Pay special attention to formal and informal dress codes at your destination. They may have let you on the airplane with those shorty shorts, Missy, but at European churches, visitors are expected to cover their shoulders and knees and folks wearing low-cut or sleeveless shirts, shorts or mini-skirts often get turned away.
2. Tip generously
Remember your first summer job? Mine was at an A&W Root Beer drive-in and I still remember the guy who gave me a $5 tip for my first, very poorly-made, float. A lot of young people will be out there this summer busting their behinds on their first (low-) paying jobs at the restaurants, hotels and attractions you visit on your vacation. So tip generously; you’ll make a big impression.
3. Be a great guest and a gracious host
Staying at a friend’s home is a great way to stretch your travel budget and get an insider’s view of a new city. And opening your home to travelers can give you a new appreciation of your own home town. The dividends can be lasting: low-maintenance guests often get welcomed back; gracious hosts get invites to guest rooms in far-off lands.
4. Travel light
Traveling offers a chance to leave your worries — and your stuff — behind. Pack just the essentials and skip worrying about toting heavy suitcases in and out of hotel rooms, keeping watch over your valuables or packing and unpacking outfits you probably won’t wear anyway.
5. Be cool. Be loose. Become a well-adjusted, wellmannered traveler Summer is for kicking back and relaxing; not just your dress code, but your attitude. So at the airport, smile at the TSA person patting you down and pawing through your carryon. Out on the highway, let that driver yakking on his cell phone speed on by. At the amusement park, let that family with the obnoxious, whiny kid step in front of you in line. Your sanity and your good humor may end up being the best souvenir of your summer vacation.

LIFE
FREE WAYS TO
IMPROVE YOUR STYLE
Who says you have to spend a million bucks to look well—like a million bucks? Hell, you don’t even have to spend anything if you use a few nifty wardrobe tricks. Sometimes the most stylish solution to your wardrobe conundrums isn’t with something new, but using what you’ve already got in a brand new way.
Learn How To Sew Every guy should know how to make little fixes with a needle and thread, like replacing lost buttons or patching holes. A little effort to learn will pay off big time by adding some unique character to your clothes. Your fixes don’t have to be perfect—and that actually makes them cooler, and a bit more personal.
Exercise To put it simply: Clothes look better when your body’s top form. It’s true whether your biceps are filling out the sleeves of an old t-shirt or your shoulders are giving an summer weight unconstructed sports jacket something to rest on. You don’t need the best workout clothes or even a gym membership to get your ass in gear. There are plenty of ways to work out at home using basic resistance exercises that’ll let you feel the burn everywhere but your bank account.
Wear Old Things in New Ways Instead of shelling out your money shopping, spend time rethinking your current closet. Unused fishing lures can be repurposed as lapel pins. Use a bandana as a pocket square. Your vintage rock tees? Wear them underneath a suit jacket with black jeans and beat-up boots for a dressed up look that’s anything but stuffy. All it takes is the confidence to know you can pull it off.
Shine Your Shoes Polishing your shoes takes just a few minutes but offers a huge upgrade below pant hems. Don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered. You don’t even need to spend hard-earned cash on one of those microfiber buffering cloths either; just recycle the insides of old sweatpants to make your wellworn kicks look fresh-out-the box buffed. Same goes for keeping your kicks looking like new, too.
Develop a Grooming Routine...and Stick to It Style isn’t all about the clothes, it’s also about taking care of your body. The secret behind many stylish men is a morning routine. Washing your face, keeping your skin moisturized, and keeping up with nail clipping all go a long way into making you look as healthy, youthful, and handsome as possible. Hey, the opposite sex goes through a lot more to look good for us, so it’s the least we can do.
Turn Old Jeans Into New Patches Before you go donating old pairs (or cut them into jorts), consider keeping some of that worn-in denim fabric around to patch up your current favorite pair when they need it, like blown-out crotches, scuffed knees and busted pockets. Or skip the waiting part and make your own pair of patchwork jeans. They’ll have the same handcrafted feel as ones we love from Junya Watanabe or Ralph Lauren, but the only investment you’ll have to make is time. SOURCE: BY JIAN DELEON AND MATT SEBRA AT WWW.GQ.COM
