SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN THE UK
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) awards over 800 scholarships and fellowships for postgraduate study and professional development to Commonwealth citizens each year. The CSC aims to contribute to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, support excellence in UK higher education, and sustain the principles of the Commonwealth. Candidates are selected on the basis of merit and their potential to contribute to the needs of their home countries.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Eurasia, Middle East and North Africa, East Asia and Pacific, South and Central Asia, and the Western Hemisphere. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded tuition fees, monthly stipend, travel allowance, and research support grant when aplicable. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the scholarship. CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Chevening is the UK government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders and is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations, Chevening offers two types of awards: Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships, the recipients of which are personally selected by British Embassies and High Commissions throughout the world.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of a Chevening-eligible country. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded tuition fees, monthly stipend, and travel allowance. DEADLINE: November. Learn more here.
WESTMINSTER INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Westminster International Scholarships are fully funded awards aimed at students from developing countries who wish to study a full-time master’s degree at the University.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to international students from a developing country and hold an offer for a full-time master’s degree at University of Westminster. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a full tuition fee award, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London. DEADLINE: October. Learn more here.
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship program was established in October 2000 by a donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the University of Cambridge. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of any country outside the United Kingdom who are applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study at the University of Cambridge: PhD (three year research-only degree), MSc or MLitt (two year research-only degree), One year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA etc.) AWARD: The Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. SALTIRE SCHOLARSHIPS
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a substantial program of scholarships, offered on a matched funding basis between the Scottish Government and Scottish Higher Education Institutions. The scholarships are designed to support the promotion of Scotland as a learning nation and a science nation and are therefore targeted at the priority sectors of creative industries, life sciences, technology, financial services and renewable and clean energy.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to applicants with a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course before an application can be considered. Additionally, applicants must be a citizen of Canada, India, Pakistan, USA or the People’s Republic of China (Hong Kong also being eligible as it is a Special Administrative Region of China). AWARD: The scheme offers up to 50 awards, each worth £8000, towards tuition fees for any one year of full time study on a postgraduate Master’s program at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions. NOTTINGHAM DEVELOPING SOLUTIONS SCHOLARSHIPS
Founded in 2001, Developing Solutions is The University of Nottingham’s flagship international scholarship program for postgraduate master’s courses.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens or residents of Africa, India, or one of the countries of the Commonwealth. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded up to 50% – 100% support towards tuition fees. DEADLINE: March. Learn more here.
MARSHALL SCHOLARSHIPS
Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for their graduate degree in the United Kingdom. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded university fees, cost of living expenses, an annual book grant, a thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the United States and, where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse. INSPIRING FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP
The Inspiring Futures Scholarships are available to offer holders of a School of Law taught master’s program commencing in Autumn. In addition to the financial contribution, scholarship recipients will benefit from opportunities to gain career-enhancing skills.
ELIGIBILITY: To apply for one of these scholarships, you must be in receipt of an offer to study on an eligible, full-time, master’s program (excludes LPC and GDL courses) at the School of Law. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded £3,000 GBP for one academic year, automatically deducted from tuition fees. DEADLINE: March or June.
CHANCELLOR’S INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP
As a top 10 ranking university in the UK for Business and Economics, University of Sussex wants to continue to attract outstanding international students to our EQUIS and AMBA accredited school. That’s why they’re offering forty of the best academic applicants a scholarship upon a successful enrollment at the University of Sussex Business School.
ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for this scholarship you must be classified as overseas for fee purposes, have excellent grades (UK first class or equivalent), have clear and specific goals with defined links to your course, have accepted a place on one of the Universitiy’s full time eligible Master’s courses. AWARD: There are 40 scholarships in total, 20 of which will be £7,500 GBP and a further 20 of £5,000. DEADLINE: May.
THE DENYS HOLLAND SCHOLARSHIP
The Denys Holland Scholarship aims to support undergraduate students from any country, who without the support of the scholarship would be unable to secure the funding required to study at UCL, and who can demonstrate their intention to make full use of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to applicants holding an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study in any department; in financial hardship, and be able to demonstrate that without the scholarship they would be unable to study at UCL; preferably aged 25 or below at the time of commencing their studies, and able to demonstrate that they have broad interests and intend to be actively involved in and contribute to the life of the university. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded £9,000 GBP per year for three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress and scholars may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover fees. RHODES SCHOLARSHIPS AT OXFORD UNIVERSITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The Rhodes Trust, based at the University of Oxford, brings together and develops exceptional people from all over the world, in all fields of study, who are impatient with the way things are and have the courage to act.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to citizens of selected personalities. For full eligibility requirements, click here. AWARD: The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University (and College) fees as well as providing an annual stipend. For the 2019/20 academic year, the stipend is £15,900 per annum (£1,325 per month). The University of Bristol is offers six International Office Scholarships for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to international students that already hold an offer of a place in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate program at the University of Bristol. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded the following: 1st place: 1 scholarship of £12,000 GBP; 2nd place: 2 scholarships of £10,000 GBP; 3rd place: 3 scholarships of £8,000 GBP. DEADLINE: June. TRANSFORM TOGETHER SCHOLARSHIPS
Transform Together Scholarships are exclusively for international and European Union (non-UK) students starting a full-time taught course at Sheffield halam University. Scholarships are awarded to students who can demonstrate excellent academic achievement. Applicants also need to describe how they will stand out from the crowd as an ambassador for Sheffield Hallam University during and after their studies.

EDINBURGH GLOBAL RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS
These awards are designed to attract high quality overseas research students to the University of Edinburgh.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to overseas students starting a PhD in any field of study. Applicants must be liable to pay tuition fees at the rate applicable to overseas students and must have been offered admission to a full-time PhD research program of study. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/EU postgraduate student and that chargeable to an overseas postgraduate student. The University of Bradford offers this scholarship to students from all other countries excluding EU countries.
ELIGIBILITY: Students from all other countries excluding EU countries will be automatically assessed based on your entry qualifications and nationality. Students on discounted partnership programs are not entitled to this scholarship. The scholarship is only applicable to students who enter their program in Year 0 (Foundation) or Year 1. AWARD: £2,500, £3,000 or £3,500 GBP. DEADLINE: These scholarships are automatically processed by the University and no separate application is required.
QUINN ALLCHIN BURSARIES
Quinn Allchin Bursaries (funded by Quaker Peace Studies Trust): Two bursaries are available for any selffunded international student in the Division of Peace Studies and International Development.
ELIGIBILITY: Only those holding conditional or unconditional offer on one of the postgraduate programs within the Division of Peace Studies and International Development. Applicant must be from one of the Least Developed Countries as per the list on UN webpage and must have achieved first class honours degree. AWARD: The bursary will contribute up to £8,000 pounds towards tuition fees. DEADLINE: 1 December 2020.
PROFESSOR RAE EARNSHAW MASTERS SCHOLARSHIP
The University of Bradford is offering the Professor Rae Earnshaw Master’s Scholarship for an outstanding, self-funding candidate paying either Home/EU fees or International fees, who has registered for one of their Master’s courses.
ELIGIBILITY: Self-funding UK or International students. The successful candidate will have a first class honours degree. Scholarships are awarded to the students who submit the best statements on the application form as judged by the panel. AWARD: For Home/EU students, the scholarship covers full tuition fees for the applicable course. For International students, the scholarship covers part of the tuition fees – up to £8,160. International Students would be expected to cover the additional associated tuition fees DEADLINE: June.
INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP AT UNIVERSITY OF WEST LONDON
As an International Ambassador you will meet other international students on the scheme and you will be asked to help showcase UWL to prospective international students, including helping out at Open Days, participating in interviews, videos and photo-shoots with the Marketing department or engaging with visiting international students.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants have to be an international fee-paying student with an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree with UWL. AWARD: Up to £5,000 GBP tuition fee discount for the first year of study. DEADLINE: November, March or July (depend on the strat date of the course).
THE SKOLL SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship is a competitive scholarship for incoming MBA students who pursue entrepreneurial solutions for urgent social and environmental challenges. The Scholarship provides funding and exclusive opportunities to meet with world-renowned entrepreneurs, thought-leaders and investors.
ELIGIBILITY: For full list of requirements, click here. AWARD: The Scholarship covers the full course fees for the MBA program, as well as partial living expenses of at least an additional £14,985 GBP. DEADLINE: January.
INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for any internationally rated applicant who has been offered a place on any of the undergraduate degree courses within the School of Earth and Environment at University of Leeds.
