SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN THE USA
FULBRIGHT PROGRAM
The Fulbright Program provides orientation and enrichment opportunities to enhance the Fulbright Program experience in the United States. The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) sponsors the Fulbright Program under policy guidelines established by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) and in cooperation with bi-national Fulbright Commissions and the Public Affairs Sections of U.S. Embassies abroad.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from any country who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or dual citizens of the U.S. and another country. Program eligibility and selection procedures vary widely by country. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded stipend, monthly maintenance, travel and tuition assistance, grant stipends and benefits vary from country to country. Grants awarded to countries with Fulbright Commissions often differ from those to countries without Fulbright Commissions. DEADLINE: Varies based on nationalities. Learn more here.
The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship promotes educational access and opportunity while enhancing international diversity. Bringing together the best of AU — academic excellence, leadership development, and global engagement — the AU Emerging Global Leader achieves, inspires, and serves with vision.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to international students from any country who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or dual citizens of the U.S. and another country. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a scholarship to cover all billable AU expenses (full tuition, room and board) for a total of four years. DEADLINE: December. Learn more here.
The vision of The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is to educate and develop academically qualified yet economically disadvantaged young people in Africa who will contribute to the transformation of the continent.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of Sub-Saharan Africa. AWARD: Financial support for fees, uniforms, books and supplies, transportation, accommodation, and stipends. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the host university. Learn more here.
WESLEYAN FREEMAN ASIAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholarship Program provides expenses for a four-year course of study toward a bachelor’s degree for up to eleven exceptionally able Asian students.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a scholarship to cover the cost of tuition and student fees (called “full tuition scholarship”) regardless of his or her family’s financial situation. MICROSOFT DISABILITY SCHOLARSHIP
The disAbility Scholarship at Microsoft delivers on the mission of Microsoft’s cross disability employee resource group to empower and enable people with disabilities. This scholarship enables high school students with disabilities to go to college and target a career in the technology industry. Microsoft additionally hopes that this scholarship allows more people living with disabilities to enroll in higher education, and decrease unemployment levels for this demographic
This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and have a financial need. The amount of this renewable scholarship to be awarded is $5,000 per year, up to $20,000. The scholarship is paid through the Seattle Foundation on behalf of the disAbility Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Microsoft to the recipient’s school’s Financial Aid Office.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to applicants of all nationalities, as long as they are a current high school senior with living with a disability (as defined by WHO). AWARD: Recipients will be awarded $5,000 USD per year, up to $20,000 USD. DEADLINE: March. Learn more here.
THE HUBERT H. HUMPHREY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is for experienced professionals interested in strengthening their leadership skills through a mutual exchange of knowledge and understanding about issues of common concern in the U.S. and Fellows’ home countries.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Eurasia, Middle East and North Africa, East Asia and Pacific, South and Central Asia, and Western Hemisphere. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded payment of tuition and fees, a maintenance (living) allowance, medical insurance, book allowance, and air travel. DEADLINE: The deadlines for applicants vary by country.
LOTUS SCHOLARSHIP
The Lotus Scholarship is awarded to students who achieve high academic standards and demonstrate a financial need in order to attend University of the West (UWest). The Scholarship was established in 2012 and has so far been awarded to more than 150 students.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to new students seeking either bachelor’s degrees or master’s degrees at UWest. Doctoral degree students, ELI students, or students seeking certificates only are not eligible for this scholarship. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded $5,000 USD – $10,000 USD, depending on the type of scholarship. DEADLINE: January and April.
NYU WAGNER MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Merit-based scholarships to help you finance your degree at New York University. Approximately 20% of enrolling students are awarded scholarships.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to all full-time and part-time students. AWARD: The award varies depending on the scholarship. The scholarships range from $10,000 USD of funding to full tuition fees payment. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the scholarship. Learn more here.
COLUMBIA COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
All international applicants eligible for full program admission to the traditional Day Campus are encouraged to compete in Scholarship Day. Scholarship Day is a competition for the top awards as well as additional leadership, talent, and institutional academic awards. The competition consists of two parts: a written essay and an interview. Applicants to the College who are unable to attend Scholarship Day in person may compete by completing their interview portion over the phone or through video conferencing.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to non-native English speakers applying to the main campus in Columbia, Missouri. Students must also meet minimum eligibility requirements and be attending the traditional Day Campus full time as a degree seeking student each semester. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a one time cash grant or 15% – 100% tuition reduction. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the scholarship. Learn more here.
ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
Merit-based scholarships are offered to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams. These awards range from $10,000 – $25,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. In some instances, additional help is provided through student loans and campus employment.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to highly qualified international students with talents, interests, and academic achievements. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded anywhere from $10,000 USD – $25,000 USD per year. DEADLINE: April. Learn more here.
THE NEXTGEN SCHOLARSHIP
The NextGen Scholarship Fund was created for international students and non-citizens who come to the United States with hopes of obtaining higher education to create a better life for themselves and their families. It is a local (Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia) scholarship program that provides one annual award to a qualified and outstanding high school senior or a current college student at a two-year or four-year college.
ELIGIBILITY: To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be an international student or non-citizen enrolled in a US school. Applicants umst currently reside in Washington DC, Maryland or Virginia OR must be accepted into a college or university that is in the Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia tri-state area AWARD: $1,000 USD. DEADLINE: March.
Through the MIT-Zaragoza Women in Logistics and SCM Scholarship, ZLC hopes to motivate outstanding female candidates to become active leaders in the Logistics field. Candidates will be expected to show extraordinary potential for leadership and professional success, bringing new vision and commitment to the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
ELIGIBILITY: Scholarships are awarded only to students who have been admitted to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program through ZLC‘s regular admissions procedure. AWARD: 50% reduction in tuition. DEADLINE: May.
ROTARY PEACE FELLOWSHIPS
Each year, Rotary awards up to 130 fully funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of our peace centers. Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of peace and development professionals or practitioners to become experienced and effective catalysts for peace.
ELIGIBILITY: The ideal candidate is academically strong, has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and has work experience in peace and development. Candidates need to demonstrate a commitment to peace and conflict resolution. AWARD: The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses. DEADLINE: The applications will open in Feburary 2021.
EAST – WEST CENTER SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS
This program provides scholarships to those students who are studying in the USA and coming from the Asia-Pacific region.
ELIGIBILITY: Eligibility varies depending on the scholarship. AWARD: The award varies depending on the scholarship. DEADLINE: The deadline varies depending on the program you apply for.
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN SUPERIOR NON-RESIDENT TUITION WAIVER PROGRAM
Through the Nonresident Tuition Waiver (NTW) Program, the university hopes to make the cost of studying at UW-Superior affordable to a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds.
Students enrolled in a fully-online degree program are not charged nonresident tuition and therefore are not eligible for the NTW Program. Admitted students will automatically be given consideration for an NTW Award or an NTW Scholar Award based upon academic merit and/or financial need.

THE AU EMERGING GLOBAL LEADER SCHOLARSHIP
The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship promotes educational access and opportunity while enhancing international diversity. Bringing together the best of AU - academic excellence, leadership development, and global engagement - the AU Emerging Global Leader achieves, inspires, and serves with vision.
ELIGIBILITY: International students who have overcome various obstacles and challenges as well as those from diverse and underrepresented global and socioeconomic backgrounds. Applicants must have minimum 3.8 GPA equivalent out of 4.0 GPA. AWARD: The AU EGL scholarship covers all billable AU expenses (full tuition, room and board). DEADLINE: December.
The Wien International Scholarship Program (WISP) at Brandeis University, established in 1958, is a first-of-its kind program bringing students from every corner of the globe to campus and engaging the entire community to be active global citizens.
