What is NEASC Accreditation? • New England Association of Schools and Colleges • Regional accreditation association providing educational accreditation • Ensures that all students experience an equitable, high-quality education necessary for their future success and well-being • NEASC standards for accreditation are a research-based, rigorous, and holistic set of practices and concepts reflective of educational best practices which ensure that the structures, policies, and systems are in place to support an effective learning community
What is ISACS Accreditation? • Independent Schools Association of the Central States • Serves more than 240 member schools • Ensures that independent schools adopt best practices and model continuous improvement • The ISACS accreditation process follows a seven-year cycle that ensures that there is congruence between the school’s stated mission and its actual programs and services What is NCA Accreditation? • North Central Association of Colleges and Schools • Includes colleges, universities, and schools in 19 U.S. states • NCA accredits more schools than any other regional accreditor in the United States • NCA accredits roughly 10,000 institutions, including more than 1,000 universities, colleges, and vocational-technical schools • NCA bases their accreditation on mission and integrity, preparing for the future, student learning and effective teaching, acquisition, discovery and application of knowledge, and engagement and service

Student Portal Students will get access to their portal when they enroll. This is used to communicate with the student and send any necessary materials. This is an extra tool to support students. Students do NOT need to access the portal to start their program on Thornton Academy or Washington Academy Online platforms.

Easy Enrollment Steps for Students!

It’s easy to apply. We offer several options for students to earn their U.S. high school diploma or take U.S. high school courses. Students can choose the program that’s best for them – combine online classes with study abroad, study all-online for a dual diploma, or work full-time towards a single U.S diploma.
Who is eligible? • Any high school student under 20 years of age is eligible.
Just make sure the program can be completed before turning 20. • Students also need to have a “C” average or equivalent in their home school and USA exchange school.
Step 1: Select your program Find the program that will help you achieve your academic goals and enroll. We are available to set up a consultation for additional support.
Step 2: Submit Transcripts Send us application materials, including transcripts from your local high school (for diploma programs).
Step 3: Choose your courses and program start date Online programs are flexible! Choose how many courses you want to start with, what you want to take, and when you want to begin. You can start anytime! Step 4: Enjoy Your Studies Once you’re accepted, you’ll get access to your student portal and the school learning platform.
Step 5a: Complete your Diploma Program Congratulations! We’ll send you your official Washington Academy or Thornton Academy Diploma. Transcripts can be sent directly from Washington or Thornton to any colleges or universities you are applying to.
Step 5b: Complete your Single Course Congratulations! We’ll send you a Certificate of Completion for your course. A transcript for your course can be sent directly from Washington or Thornton to any colleges or universities you are applying to.
Step 6: Post - Graduate After you finish your program, start planning the next step in your academic career. Our College Advisement Program, which is included with all programs, is available for added support.
