AUSTRALIAN UNION DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

The AUSTRALIAN UNION DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIPS is a six-day event uniquely crafted to unite participants with World Debating Champions and put them through six days of training and competition. Throughout the week, participants will be given the opportunity to hold conversations with experts, ask questions, and intimately learn the art and science of debating from the best in the field.

The Championship is led by globally acclaimed speakers from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, New South Wales, and Queensland who have confirmed their commitment to serve as trainers and judges for the upcoming edition of the Championship. Other decorated debate specialists, who have been equally recognized for their excellence in the field of debate and public speaking, have also accepted the invitation to join the event and hone the next generation of innovative minds.

TRAINING + COMPETITION

With 3 days of intense training followed by 3 days of competition, the Championship aims to introduce students to a layered curriculum carefully and thoughtfully designed to maximize learning experiences. The Championship is geared towards enhancing students’ proficiency and eloquence in the English language, familiarizing them with the structure of parliamentary debating, acquainting them with the elements of a good argument, and helping them build confidence and selfesteem.
