MAGNOLIA COURT

MASTER PLAN & SECTION DESIGN

Magnolia court is located in the grounds of Francis Close Hall university campus. This underused space only consisted of a raised lawn with a magnolia tree at its centre. The purpose of this design is to bring life and use back into the space. My design mimics the shape of the ‘infinity’ symbol. The symbolic meaning of this refers to being ‘limitless’. Francs close Hall is a place of education therefore, being limitless is inspiring to them and allows them to access a space where they reflect and relax away from the stress of work. The design incorporates lawn spaces, areas of seating under the trees and benches wrapping round raised planting beds, it converts the area from a place which was only used as a walk through to a place people go to use.

NORTH PLACE MASTERPLAN & VISUALISATIONS

The concept for this design development of North Place is the creation of a sustainable creative environment within an area of green space. The Creation of a green pocket in the heart of Cheltenhams town centre. It will allow the surrounding environment a breath of fresh air within the urban jungle of Cheltenham's main high street whilst increasing human interaction with nature.
