Creative Arts Live is the new name for all live performances at Colchester Institute and associated venues. It encompasses a diverse range of professional and student events ranging from Musicals to Classical Concerts from Fashion Shows to Dance events and much, much more! We look forward to welcoming you soon! Most of our events are held in our Swinburne Hall at Colchester Institute. If an event is in an alternative venue (including Colchester Institute Main Hall) this is marked next to the event.

A NIGHT ON THE PROMENADE Friday 16th May 7.30pm | £5 Formed in 2013, The Moonlighters Wind Band present a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ of their very own, in addition to many other wind band favourites. Featuring the drum line of the Romford Drum and Trumpet Corps.

CANTORES CHAMBER CHOIR Wednesday 28th May 7.30pm | £4 Prior to their tour to St Edmundsbury Cathedral, this exceptional choir performs an evening of Mozart, Beethoven, Vaughan Williams, Britten, and Lambert directed by Dr. Mark Bellis.

ECLIPSE - THE PINK FLOYD TRIBUTE Saturday 31st May 7.30pm | £16 Main Hall Born from the ashes of In the Flesh, Eclipse perform the songs of Pink Floyd as accurately as possible, recreating the feel and performance of a Pink Floyd concert from the 60’s, 70’s and beyond.

BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL Tues 3rd, Wed 4th, Thurs 5th, Fri 6th June 7.30pm £12 (£8 conc) When a group of teenagers discover a pointy-eared, bright-eyed bat child in a cave in the West Virginia Hills and bring him into the sleepy town of Hope Falls, what follows both intrigues and shocks the inhabitants. MUSICAL THEATRE CHOREOGRAPHY EVENING Thursday 12th June 7.30pm | £4 Year 2 BA (Hons) Musical Theatre students present their own choreography to music from a selection of the best known Musical Theatre shows.
