EUROSON 2022 Timisoara, Romania We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our congress this month. Congratulations to our Romanian colleagues for their optimism and determination that the event should take place. We have an exciting programme with international speakers and eight parallel sessions and the congress has been granted 19 European CME Credits by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. The EFSUMB Young Investigator Session with six participants vying for the 3000 euro prize and the winner of the Best Published Paper 500 euro prize will be announced.

The 50th anniversary of the founding of EFSUMB is going to be celebrated with a souvenir booklet for all our participants and a quiz based on historical images with three prizes – free registration for EUROSON 2023 Riga, Latvia, a one year’s free subscription to EFSUMB’s journal Ultraschall in der Medizin/EJU (courtesy of Thieme Verlag Stuttgart) and the complete online 2nd edition of the EFSUMB Course Book.

If you would like to win a free congress registration for WFUMB 2023 we invite you to contribute a Case of the Month to the EFSUMB website. The two best submissions as judged by the EFSUMB Publications Committee in the next year will be offered this prize. Message from EFSUMB’s President, Christian Jenssen Fifty years of EFSUMB is a good occasion not only to celebrate together and to look back proudly, but also to remember the many members of our federation who made these five decades possible with their vision, their heart and soul and with all their strength.

We like to talk about the European Ultrasound Family, which is a good comparison. A family has common genes, which in our case is mainly the gene that encodes the love for ultrasound. Each generation in a family inher-

its experiences, achievements, and values of previous generations and members of a family stay close together, especially in difficult times like ours; they help each other. Conflicts are solved with mutual respect and with the knowledge that, despite all differences, we belong together. All this has sustained and held EFSUMB together for five decades: we have a common mission, and we are successful in sharing and spreading ultrasound knowledge in Europe and developing it to a high quality. would like to take you into this living history, of course with historical information and also with bridges to the present and future of our society. Above all it should convey our pride that you are all part of this family history and will continue to write it!
