Ronald Lefcourt (1935 – 2018) Those who knew him best will agree – Ronald Lefcourt was a man of integrity and vision – dutiful patriarch, fiercely loyal friend, knowledgeable businessman and philanthropist. It is Englewood Hospital’s good fortune to be among the worthwhile organizations that Mr. Lefcourt chose to invest his legacy. Through the years, Mr. Lefcourt interacted with hospital staff often sharing his trademark ‘nice gets nice’ as a parting compliment. It is a simple – yet powerful – phrase that he coined in business, which he also used to recognize care received at Englewood Hospital. This adage shaped Mr. Lefcourt’s extraordinary philanthropic commitment. His generosity included gifts to benefit the Emergency Care Center, located on the first floor of The Kaplen Pavilion, and to name The Ronald and Helen Lefcourt Hybrid OR and The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center. Today, Mr. Lefcourt’s lasting legacy is profoundly impacting patients and families at Englewood Hospital. Lives saved and lives transformed – and not just at EHMC. As President and co-founder, he led Alliance Shippers Inc. for more than 40 years, establishing the company as a global industry leader in intermodal rail, over-the-road, temperature control, international and warehouse and distribution services. We owe Mr. Lefcourt a great debt of gratitude and are pleased to pay tribute to his memory at the 2018 Gala.
