James and Lisa Cohen There is no place like home – and for James and Lisa Cohen, home is Bergen County, NJ. Recognized by friends and neighbors for their warm and friendly nature, the Cohens quietly lend support to numerous organizations throughout our region. Their mission: to create stronger, healthier communities through enhanced access to education, arts and healthcare. At Englewood Health, their generosity helped to realize our vision for the future through the establishment of 3 Cohen. This state-of-the-art inpatient unit delivers high-quality compassionate care to countless patients and families 365 days a year. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the unit enabled our team to safely deliver life-saving services. In addition to their philanthropic work, the Cohens are also widely recognized for their many professional accomplishments. Mr. Cohen is Chairman and CEO of Hudson Capital Properties, a multi-platform real estate development company. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Hudson News Distributors, LLC as well as Vice Chairman and major shareholder of Hudson LTD. He and his father, Robert, founded Hudson News in the 1980s and today, Mr. Cohen is owner and operator of more than 1,000 Hudson News stores throughout the world. Hudson is an affiliate company of Dufry AG, the industry’s largest international duty-free retailer. A graduate of Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Cohen currently serves on the university’s Athletics Board of Overseers. Mrs. Cohen is the founder and editorial director of Galerie, a new magazine which focuses on the intersection of art and design. Launched in the spring of 2016, it was named one of the top magazine launches of that year. She is also an avid art collector and is currently involved in promoting the careers of young and upcoming artists through Galerie’s Annual Emerging Artist Awards. Mrs. Cohen is a graduate of Barnard College and has previously served as a member of its Board of Trustees. The Cohens have four children and reside in Alpine and New York City.
Lawrence Davis, MD Lawrence Davis, MD, always wanted to do his part to make the world a better place. The opportunity to build long-standing bonds with each patient led to his pursuit of a career as a primary care physician. He joined Pattner, Grodstein and Fein in 1997, a thriving practice where you will still find him today. He credits Drs. Austin Pattner, Gerald Grodstein and Deborah Fein for helping to shape his career and offering the mentoring, camaraderie and unconstrained discourse that comes with working along great physicians. During his more than two decades at Englewood Health, Dr. Davis has served on numerous committees and is presently Section Chief of Internal Medicine. As a young man, he nourished his interest in biology with weekend courses at the Smithsonian while engaging in community service and civic duty, which his family instilled as important. He is a graduate of Harvard College and The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Davis has the unique ability to build rewarding interpersonal relationships with those in his care. His outstanding commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate, personalized attention has earned him a reputation as a quiet leader in the field and established his standing as steward for Englewood Health’s thriving culture of philanthropy. Through the years, he has inspired patients and colleagues alike to pledge their support including numerous leadership level gifts that have revolutionized care at Englewood Health. Dr. Davis lives in New York City with his wife, Ladan Boushehri Davis.
