POTATO F A C T

S H E E T S

Elders understands the potato market and imports, develops and sells seed of varieties that the industry demands and brings value to clients. Elders offers potato growers and packers high yielding, low disease and market ready potatoes that provide improvements in yield and efficiency for the industry that every part of the value chain can benefit from. Elders offer potato varieties that suit every need in the fresh market value chain and more than that, Elders has dedicated staff around Australia, is an independent supplier to the industry and has a national and local awareness of growers’ needs allowing local relationships to develop in a national context. Elders has provided PBR (Plant Breeder’s Rights) potatoes to the Australian potato industry for over 17 years. Starting with a hand full of varieties, now with over 35 varieties in various stages of commercialisation and development - with more around the corner.

Elders is one of the leading suppliers of fresh PRB potato varieties in Australia. Elders sells certified seed of PBR potato varieties that uniquely provide points of difference due to high yields, low disease status and higher general disease resistance, and offers the industry a potato range with diverse cooking styles and eating experiences. Currently the market is moving to more yellow fleshed potatoes and Elders will be adding to its yellow potato range in the coming years. Elders has a dedicated team of potato specialists that support the importation and development of new potato varieties, manage seed production and provide solutions to the potato industry, particularly Australian potato growers. Contact your local Elders store for more information on our potato varieties or to email an Elders potato specialist, onlinemarketing@elders.com.au www.elders.com.au/farm-supplies/potatoes
